This organization is amazing! My friend and I found this sweet small dog that kept peeing blood all over my house and the vet said her surgery would be $1500. I didn’t have the money for that and didn’t want to abandon her like her previous owners did so I found Skitook Paws and Claws! They paid for her surgery and let my family continue to foster her until she found her forever home. They plan to take her to Maine next week and I hope she finds a loving home. I’m so grateful for this organization because I truly don’t know what we would have done with Tinkerbell without them.

Just know that when you fill out the application online that doesn't place you in a que for the animal you want. That will speed up the process once you arrive. But know that it is a first come first serve on adoption day. This place is amazing and does care for the animals in the best way. There is nothing but love flowing from this place. If you're looking for a new addition to your family this is the place. The staff and volunteers are very helpful and friendly. They are cautious of who is adopting the animals, wanting to make certain that they go and stay in a safe and loving home.

SPACAR is AMAZING! Not only do these women work full time 40+ hour jobs and families to take care of, they also devote that much time as VOLUNTEERS at SPACAR. They genuinely care about the welfare of animals and do all they can. I will never adopt from anyone but them again!

I've adopted 3 dogs in 2 years with them! They are a great rescue and have so many amazing volunteers that foster and help as well! Donate, volunter, or adopt when you can!

This rescue is operating in a place that desperately needs it. They do great work with limited resources in an area where many people just don’t care that much about animals. I have fostered with them which was always a great experience and also got two of my fur babies from their program!

I haven't used their services yet as every time I've tried no one has picked up the phone or been at the location. I did find out that to get in touch with them, Facebook is best. They don't always have someone available as they are volunteers, but I've heard wonderful things about them. The website is difficult to navigate on a cellphone. Even with all of the cons, I have to give them 4 stars for all the great work they do around Skiatook and Sperry.

While visiting family in OK I visited this rescue and fell in love with one of the pups. I flew back from CA as soon as she was ready to adopt and brought her back home. Everyone I dealt with at this rescue was fantastic....they worked with me from out of state and when I picked her up she was so well taken care of. All her paperwork was organized and her foster even put together a goodie bag of treats for her plane ride home! The communication was excellent & the dogs are very well taken care of . Very impressed with them!

I adopted a kitten from here two weeks ago. He’s the sweetest. I love the work that all these people do. I hate to think about what would happen to all these animals if it weren’t for places like this.

SPACAR provides a fantastic service to our community. They recently helped me with their monthly spay/neuter clinic. They neutered my Miniature Australian Shepherd. They were very well organized and took excellent care of him. He recovered beautifully without any issues. They have hearts that are full of love for pets.

Skiatook Paws and Claws does a great job placing cats and dogs while giving them loving and healthy homes while in their care.We just began volunteering on Sundays two weeks ago and the staff is welcoming, accommodating and very appreciative of volunteers. It’s a bit of a drive from Tulsa, but worth it to help out such a kind, efficient and well organized compassionate nonprofit.

I was interested in one of their dogs until my wife told me about her experience volunteering with this organization. She got a real bad vibe off of one of the women but brushed it aside cause she was there for the animals not them. One day, after spending almost 3 hours cleaning filthy cages, medicating sick cats, feeding, washing dirty litter pans etc, with no help, she was harassed and viciously insulted by Glenda Haller for having to leave to go to work. This creature obviously has some psychopathic problem because my wife did absolutely nothing to merit such treatment except attempt to care for 30+ cats all alone. Privately a few volunteers apologized to her for Glenda’s behavior but nobody stood up for my wife against repeated verbal abuse. She finally cursed Glenda out and left. The next organization she volunteered for told her that they have heard MANY stories about shady dealings, animal transport/trafficking (animal testing labs that buy cats?), theft and resale of high value breeds instead of returning them to loving owners and more. A good Missouri rescue will not work with Oklahoma rescues period after their experience with spacar and another shady local rescue. They may help a portion of their animals and a few of their volunteers are kind, but there’s something very sinister behind their do-gooder front and all the publicity. Follow the money people.

I have rescued two dogs from Skiatook Paws and Claws over the past few years. This wonderful group of folks goes above and beyond for every animal they come across, as well as the sue diligence for vetting animals before they’re adopted. I’m beyond thankful to have found this rescue and will FOREVER support them any way I can. The world would be a better place if more people like this group existed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ❤️

These people are the best! A co-worker saw a dog and showed it to me, I had lost both my long term dogs within a few months. They made sure that I was going to provide a good loving home for my new bestie! The hardest part was the wait to get the approval and get to pick her up! They work SO hard and care SO very much! They are wonderful and do so much for so many!!! Can't say enough nice things about them and what they do!

Jessica was wonderful to work with! It took a while to get room for stray cat, because it was kitty season. But she finally was able to give him a room. She works very hard to find homes for fur babies! Im very pleased with the efforts Paws and Claws puts out for all the animals they take in. They definetly get a 5 star rating from me!

First things first always "adopt don't shop" and secondly this is hands down the best animal rescue facility I've ever been too. They truly truly care about their animals and the homes they go too. They aren't just an animal rescue but shortly after adopting one or more of their furbabies you become part of their rescue family. They are seriously the best rescue team! They are extremely helpful and friendly, you can see the true love and compassion they have and put into their rescue and animals. Not to mention their dedication to these animals for finding their perfect home is seriously the greatest. 🤗This rescue is definitely the first place I'd recommend to anyone who is looking into adopting a new furry friend, I just recently adopted my two new best friends from here earlier this month.

This is amazing rescue, they vet the adopters, take good care of the pets in their custody would highly recommend them if you're looking for a pet. Course if you love fur babies and would like to help out they're always looking for good responsible fosters!

In all honesty, if I ran this rescue, the pressure of it all would absolutely overwhelm me and I would have shut it down within weeks. The compassion and professionalism displayed by this staff for the good of all animal kind is next level, especially and EVEN in the midst of adversary more than likely brought on by those that abandoned the animals in the first place. I mention her primarily because I follow her closely on Facebook (although I know there's an entire team), but what Paige endures daily for the sake of the betterment and enrichment of these animals is something awe inspiring. People fail to see the sadness that is also involved with this business, what they have to see, the life they have to see leave the eyes of so many animals who did nothing but live and be mistreated. What's done at this shelter is overlooked by many, but not me. Absolutely superb.

I've watched the admins and volunteers of this organization give to the dogs and cats in their care until they almost have nothing left to give. So it was a no brainer for me when it came time to adopt a new puppy. I honestly don't know how they do it day after day. They (and other rescues, I know) see the worst of humanity and try to save as many animals as they can. And I assure you that they're not doing it for money. At the moment, they are on intake hold until some bills get paid. Adoption fees don't cover an average animal's residency/vetting/food/training, if necessar , if necessary. Plus what SPACAR does to assist it's local communities with pet food outreach, education, spay and/or neutering, vaccinations, and more would surprise most people.
