its funny that the crack hotel wants to charge nearly double what the luxury suites cost across the street.. the people running the place must be smoking crack too!! the price showed online is 1/4 of the price they told me at the door. they wanted to hold $200 & said they would give me $100back, i went across the street and paid $80. i just figured the shady crack hotel would have been cheaper, and if you thought the same thing you'd be wrong.. i highly suggest avoiding this place like the plague. all 3 of the surrounding hotels were cheaper and this one was the lowest quality for the highest price.

The guy at the desk was very nice. He filled me on everything from it being redone. Why it was on the messy side of things, that is because they were putting new flooring in, beds, carpet, and so on.It is the cleanest place I have been in, for a Super 8. I loved it that the guy was very honest with me.I didn't have much for cash, I gave what I could for a tip, and I don't usually leave a tip.Plus, he was training this young lady. He was so patient with her and to treat her that nicely. I appreciate seeing that in a work place.Sorry about the tip!Thank you so much for everything!

Update to original review:We returned to this location for another stay. This time, the empty hotel next door had all the air conditioning units and doors removed, leaving it open for all the transients/homeless people to live in. They were milling around the property and at one point were causing problems for the owners, who are very nice people so I feel sorry for them, but having the homeless people walking around your car at night is a little concerning. Something needs to happen to that property before we will go back and stay again I can't risk having my car broken into by homeless people. The hotel room, bed, bath was very nice and bed comfortable, it's just that other hotel nextdoor that's the problem. We call it the apocalypse building. Very unfortunate.Original review below:Excellent room, very clean and large, super comfy bed, spic-n-span shiny clean bathroom and floors, very quiet location and very accommodating nice owners. Good coffee and they have a continental breakfast also. Laundry facility available for those needing it! The hotel was located in a good place but we were unable to find it at first due to remodeling the sign. But this hotel was quite accommodating, we rolled in quite late at night maybe around 9:30.We had a problem with our first room , but once we told them about it the man at the front desk was quick to change our rooms for us. We also could not figure out how to work the tv so he had to come down to assist us with that aswell. Very nice hotel. Would stay here again.

The rooms were recently remodeled. If you get the lower level, you can park outside of door. There are spots that concrete needs service. There is a commode parade outside. No one is in the office in the morning. My breakfast consisted of a cinnamon roll the size of a silver dollar, a bruised apple, and apple juice. When I first tried, water came out. The 2nd try produced what tastes like fermented apple juice. It was funny because spouse said his OJ tasted like fermented orange juice.Nearby activities: It is behind a convenience store near I-40, Wal-Mart, and restaurants.

I stayed at this hotel which was higher priced than most on a 4000 mile road trip. Stayed at a Super 8 in NW Indiana and price was right well run great coffee.. At this hotel microwave did not work and no way to plug it in. Half the TV channels were blanked out didn't work. Heater barely put out any heat. Breakfast was minimal, coffee not served till 6:30 despite the sign saying 6am. Am heading back that way in a couple of weeks and will stay anywhere but here.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a dirtier room. There was absolutely no way I was letting my kids sleep there. The room immediately after opening the door had cockroaches on the wall crawling. There was holes in the wall. The bed sheets and pillow cases were filthy. There was Bed bugs. And not tiny little things either.My son opened the microwave and there were Old French fries in there. No more than 4 minutes in the room before walking to the office for a refund. How they are still open blows my mind. Disgusting of a place.

We got there really late and headed to bed. When we woke up and showered we realized how disgusting the entire room was. My husband was complaining about how he felt like he was being bitten all night. Next thing I know there was a huge bedbug on the pillow. I took a picture and we got out of there as fast as we could. Also took pictures of the bites my husband had. I went to the office and they were extremely rude and didn't believe me even with pictures. Extremely rude. They claim they have pest control come once a month but obviously they need to hire someone else. The place is a complete dump.

Staff are very unfriendly. Plenty of available rooms but made me wait until 4 pm to check in even though I arrived at 10 am after driving all night. Bed bugs everywhere. Black mold on shower ceiling. Several rooms burned by fire and my room still smelled of fire smoke. Blanket had sticky stains on it. Horrible motel. Asked for a receipt but told since Priceline was the booking company they would have to issue receipt. Hot water was absolutely scalding hot so burned my feet while trying to adjust shower temp. Avoid this Super 8 even if the room was free of charge. HORRIBLE....

Traveling across country and needed a place to stay the night in Shawnee. Decided to give the Super 8 a try. Immediately when we walked in the room we were greated with a disgusting smell. Checked the room for bedbugs and noticed old food/crumbs and dog hair everywhere. Was in the room for less than 5 minutes before deciding I was not going to stay there. Went down asked for a refund, which the attendant said they would fulfill and went to another hotel. Once there I checked my accounts and noticed another pending charge from the Super 8. If these pending charges don't fall off, I'm going to have to notify the bank of fraudulent charges and potentially look into legal recourse against this establishment.In all honesty I'd avoid this place like the plague. Disgusting rooms and sketchy business practices.

Construction in next room.Asked us to go do something because it was scaring my dog. That they would be done shortly. Still going on, called again.We was told we could check out if we didn't like it. With zero reimbursement..,Rude female in the office.It's a waste of money, find somewhere else to stay

This has got to be the nastiest hotel I’ve ever attempted to stay in. I stopped here because It was late and I was tired after driving all day from Georgia. This was the only hotel I could find that had a vacancy in the area. The room was disgusting and smelled horrible. The sheets on the bed had cigarette burns and stains. The sink had hair in it. It was just obvious that they hadn’t even attempted to clean or maintain this room. I was so tired I was about to just say F it and stay anyway, but after moving the sheets and pillows on the bed I was greeted with the unfortunate site of 100’s of bed bugs. I got my things and went down to the front deck and told the manager of my findings and they didn’t act surprised or concerned in the least. I got a refund and left. You’re way better off sleeping in your car or driving further until you find something better. Consider yourself warned.

I stayed there last night. And I paid for a second night the following morning. After I paid and went back to my room the front desk called me and told me that I had to leave so that they could clean it at 10:00 a.m. before check out which was at 11:00. Then after the phone conversation they called me up again and told me that they do not have a room for me and that they overbooked I went down to collect my money and the owner tried to short me $20 and through a fit when I called him out on it. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a super 8 I would not recommend anyone to go to this location. I found spiders in the room as I was collecting my stuff.. trust me it would be better to go to the la Quinta even though it cost more then have to deal with these a holes.

Under construction when I stayed. The workers were above us renovating a few rooms.The ice around the hotel was so bad it was scary to get to my car. I was just sliding all over the place.Maybe I'll come back and try it again knowing rooms are being renovated

I’m not sure how this place has so many stars. When I walked into room 513 I noticed a huge black wasp flying around inside. Carpet was ripped and torn around the door. Shower curtain and tub had burn marks from cigarettes. The tubs drain was so bad that I had ankle deep water by the time I was finished. The TV was intentionally modified so that you couldn’t hook up any external device. This place is in need of a serious renovation. Take your money elsewhere and avoid this place

The room wreaked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The condition of the room was nasty, would not even shower because of the mold and mildew. The carpet was filthy. Never, ever stay there!!!!!

Excellent motel. Nice room with microwave and fridge. Only small issue was the small blow-dryer would not come on. But, that was not a big prob. I just want Super 8 to know so they can fix it or replace it.

I stayed in a non smoking room and when I walked in I was overcome with the smell of cigarettes. The floors were extremely dirty, the bedding was extremely disgusting and had multiple cigarette burn holes... overall the room was a mess and disgusting. The breakfast area was rundown, dirty, out of coffee, syrup, muffins, basically everything. Overall not a clean, friendly, safe place to stay.

Hotel was pretty nasty, floor was dirty, one of the beds had food still on the blanket, stains on one of the sheets and on the towels, hair on the bathroom walls, black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, hair on 2 of the towels, food crumbles in the dresser, just nasty!! If it wasn't for the other hotels being booked up I wouldn't have stayed here, never again will I !! Pay the extra money and stay at a better hotel!!
