I have lived in Rush Springs for 49 years. I love living here because everyone is so friendly and when you need anything, someone is always ready to lend a hand. It was a great town to raise my 3 kids. Small country living with a huge heart. I can't see myself living anywhere else.

Went down for the watermelon festival. Most of the vendors are the same people you see at every festival across the state but there were a few exceptions. Most of the food was local. The watermelon was delicious and plentiful.We were there for the announcement of little miss and mister Rush Springs, which was adorable. There was a carnival section separate from the vendors, which was nice as we were not interested in riding the tilt-a-whirl after lunch.It wasn't too crowded in the morning. We left a little after noon and it was getting pretty packed. I recommend bringing cash. Most of the vendors had mobile card readers but cell service was spotty so it was a bit tricky to pay sometimes.
