There are not enough words to express the appreciation and gratitude I have for the Staff Members and Volunteers. They go above and beyond to do what they can. There are always dogs and cats of all ages, they are all desperately waiting for their new home. The OCHS takes donations, accepts volunteers and of course fostering or adopting. They do work with the Okmulgee Shelter in hopes of finding their animals homes as well. 100% recommend checking them out, they are always looking for help.

Please donate!Adopt before you shop!Very nice people. Quick to respond. We are getting our new little guy next week, and are so excited. They make the process reasonable, and your new family member will be up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, etc.The cost to adopt is very reasonable.

Animals that need love. A good place to help animals find their new homes. Don't really like the catcher that brings them in.

Found abandoned puppies and called Okmulgee Humane Society. They told me they are not a shelter and couldn't help. They then told me to call Okmulgee animal control. I called and met up with the Animal Control then asked what would happen to the puppies, without hesitation before I could finish my sentence he said, "Put them down." The only thing the animal control does is kill them. So Okmulgee Humane Society knows exactly what animal control does and in essence they Told me to kill them by calling them and letting animal control take them. The Humane Society offered no other advice or help and the lady was very rude.Maybe they should offer another suggestion as to how we can help animals besides killing them at animal control? If Humane Society doesn't help animals, what do they do? They essentially do nothing.The lesson I learned from this experience: Don't try to help abandoned animals, no matter how much your conscience tells you to. Unless you yourself can provide for them. No one else is going to help.

I've had good and bad experiences here. If they had more donations they could probably do more. I guess. I found a litter of very small kittens and I tried to get help from there with formula so I wouldn't have to surrender them to an already taxed agency and nobody bothered to return my calls or messages. All 3 kittens ended up dying. It was heartbreaking for us to go through.

call there while I was there and lady answered it help me find out what puppies and dogs they had where they were how old they were what type they were and told me how to go online to the humane society and look at pictures it was really nice and I'm glad they don't have the dogs caged up inside the building anymore good place to find a lost animal or a new home for one

I always try to help contribute to their bake sales whenever I see them on my way home and also I would like to see this place get better funding and a larger building. I am sure with all the city progress that something is in the works😊

They try, but theres very little funding for them, and the city council in Okmulgee is very corrupt. Therefore, there are a lot of private rescues that try to help all they can.
