I absolutely can not say more positive things about this establishment, they are beyond amazing! I loved all the staff I met, and Cindy who runs it, is well… just as amazing! She genuinely cares about the animals she is caring for, and will ensure the pet is right for the family that is interested, as she wouldn’t want to adopt a pet to a family just to have one of her pets adopted, it has to be a good fit, not just for the family but mainly for the pet they may be interested in, which says a lot! It means she cares about both the animal going to its forever home and the family adopting the pet! In our situation, we found the newest member of our family, we met little Karev, the cutest little grey tabby kitty and we adopted him a week later, he is SO sweet, loving, and just everything we could of ever wanted in our new addition!! We feel blessed that not only did we get an amazing kitty, that was clearly loved and interacted with by Pets and People! I honestly can’t say enough positive things about this amazing Humane Society, we will always keep in touch with them, send them updates on our baby, and help volunteer when needed! Thank You 🙏🏻, Pets and People Humane Society, Cindy, Zoe, and Daisy! We adore you all, and appreciate ALL you all do for all the animals that are lucky enough to be at Pets and People!!!

I'm not sure what's up with all the negative reviews. We submitted an application for a dog late in the evening yesterday and we were able to adopt the dog we wanted today. The whole process was very simple and everyone working there was extremely friendly. Our new dog family member is already laying in bed with us watching TV 📺 :)

If I see one more cat at petsmart QUAIL SPRINGS for an extended amount of time because this agency just leaves their cats for weeks on end in cages, I will have to continue to call and write negative reviews. I see these poor cats sitting in cages all day. I go In every other day In Hopes one is adopted and none are. I also hope the cats are rotated out so they aren't just lonely in their cages but that doesn’t happen either. I ask to visit with one but am told I have to wait for this agency to even pet one. No one at petsmart is able to help and they wish they could. I don’t know who runs this place but unless there is someone at PetSmart from this agency to let people visit with the animals then what’s going on is cruel. PetSmart employees are also not allowed to adopt these cats that they see whenever they work. This place makes me sick. #freeOMALLEY #standupforcats #hejustwantstobeloved #sadlonelyeyes

I too cannot give enough good marks for Pets and People. Yes they take the cats to places like (Petsmart) or pet fairs in an effort to find homes for them. The alternative is being kept in a crate at their shelter until a home is found (reduced exposure to potential adopter) or turning the cat out to fend for themselves, or taking the cat to a facility that will euthanize animal before you leave their parking lot.The answer is spay or neuter your animals and refrain from taking a cute kitten into your home and abandoning them when they are no longer ‘cute’ or become a problem.Much praise for the difficult work these people do with very few resources.

I can not express how wonderful of an experience we have had. Cindy has been beyond helpful - always there to answer questions I had and always there to provide help to my dogs during their adoption process.This line of work is hard, exhausting and often thankless but my family is so very thankful for all the kindness and care they have shown my dogs!

I have adopted 3 dogs through Pets and People and they are amazing! The online adoption process is simple and easy to search for the animals on either Petfinder or their website. A big thank you to the staff, volunteers, and fosters for all that you do to save and love those without a voice.

Pets and People changed management and the improvements are impressive. The 3 acre dog park is just lovely and is open to the public. There is a fenced off area for small dogs and the large area has a pond for swimming. There is a waste station, running water and a water bowl, shade trees and benches to sit on. There are no unattended animals and the rules are posted clearly on the gates.

Had a very hard decision today to surrender our dog, who was showing aggression, and that had already been rehomed from this establishment and Cindy was so very rude to me right from the second I walked in the door. She proceeded to give me attitude throughout the rest of our interaction. Absolutely unacceptable I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

This is magnolia, I adopted her and she accepted me the first time we met each other. She occasionally had an anger spell while petting her but that has gone away for now that she has settled in her new home. My sisters yorkies bark at her but that doesn’t seem to bother her. She stays close to me when I am at home and does a lot of playing and snuggling with me. I simply love her.

I can't say enough amazing things about this adoption center. These people genuinely care about who adopts these rescued animals & (of course) it should be a process to adopt!I adopted my baby boy kitten & they've been in communication with me for a month after making sure he gets his rounds of vaccinations and his neuter done (which is included in the adoption fee) & the staff has been very kind and understanding.Thank you for an amazing adoption experience! Highly recommend if you're looking to adopt/rescue from caring people! ✨️💫

Met with great group of ladies working here. They had the perfect kitty for me. Adoption fee very reasonable.they give the kittens both canned and dry food which is great for them long term and facility was clean. Looking forward to 20+ years with my new kitty friend. They have a lot of super cute pitbulls for adoption as well.

I have now adopted 2 dogs from here and both have been wonderful pets. The staff was amazing both times. They are open about the pets and willing to tell you if they think a pet isn't right for you. Rescue is the way to go and Pets & People is the place to go

I can not say enough wonderful things about Pets and People! We just adopted our 2nd dog from them today! Zoe was absolutely amazing! When we went in last week to look, she was able to help us find the dog that would be the best fit for our family. And boy did she! I absolutely love the fact that you can do a trial run at home with the pets to make sure they are a good fit for your family. If you are looking to adopt, this is definitely the place! Adopt don't shop!!

I realized I never wrote a review when I came in to adopt a cat a few years ago. The experience was so terrible that I still think about it time to time. A woman (I don't know if she was a volunteer or employee or what) named Cindy was fostering a Siamese kitten and was looking for a home for him. I was interested in adopting him, but she didn't want me to because I'm a woman and she was worried I would have a baby one day and get rid of him. This was said to me verbatim. I ended up going to PetSmart and adopting my cat (who is happily living with me and always will because I'm a responsible pet owner who adopts for life) shortly after without any fuss. I hope that kitten found a good home but I will never forget about this discrimination.

horrible experience. My husband and I wanted to give the best life to a cat we fell in love with through the window. We literally give our pets the world, and I work in the vet field. It took me 10 days after submitting an application to get a response, told I was a perfect fit, then ghosted for five more days. I sent 7 emails, called several times, left several messages. You'd think they would do their best to get pets into loving homes as soon as possible. We ended up adopting a little orange kitten from Oklahoma Humane Society in 45 minutes after walking in. THAT is how you get pets adopted. I had my heart attached and wanted to give that cat the world but they were so horrible to even try to work with! I hope one day he gets a loving family. We wanted to be it but apparently they didn't want him to be adopted.

Pets & People is awesome! The location is nice and well kept! All of the staff are nice, knowledgeable and care about making sure the adoption is a good fit for you and more importantly the animal. I’m glad they consider all factors for the animals well being instead of just carelessly adopting them out! I adopted an amazing cat there recently and highly recommend this place!! Very disappointed in this organization. I tried to adopt Cassie a shepherd and was told another family was coming and they would let me know if it didn't work out, her profile was taken down. Awesome Cassie is being adopted. A week later profile went back up and I received no contact from them that the prior family didn't work. I reached back out to them and was told they spoke with the foster and she was wanting to adopt Cassie now and that the foster also said because I have 2 female dogs that Cassie would be best suited in a home with male animals as she shows dominance. Keep in mind she is 10 to 12 weeks and still learning how a pack works. Her profile since is still up which tells me she is still available. Makes me very sad and disappointed they are being this way with a puppy in need of a home. I can understand older animals in the shelter since they maybe a little more stuck in their ways, but this is a puppy that me and my husband are willing to work with and train to give her the best loving life. I hope if you get the chance to adopt from them your experience is better than mine.

One of the worst interactions I have had with a rescue like this. I wanted to adopt a cat who had been with them for over a year and are STILL actively looking for a home for him on Facebook, yet when they responded back to my application they said I “wasn’t a good fit” for reasons that I didn’t even list on my application. For example, they said I wasn’t a good fit because he needed a quiet home with no kids, I responded back that I was a college student that had NO kids and lived in a quiet apartment so it was the perfect environment for him and they did not care, didn’t even give us a chance even though he’s been with them forever. If you’re lucky enough to get past the application process I’m sure it’s not a bad experience but we had a terrible experience and obviously this is not the first time looking at their reviews.

Bought a cat was told cat was healthy and not to worry about her bad eye. I asked if cat never had kennel cough was told no. Thought it was odd that cat never caught kennel cough while being in the shelter for so long. Took cat home, all cat would do was sleep, sneeze and drink a ton of water. Cat never did eat. Called foster mom, which cat never was at her home, cat was in a animal shelter. Foster mom said she wasn't worried because animals have to adjust, so I shouldn't worry. Cat got sicker and sicker. Called again told so called foster mom cat need to see a doctor. I told her to take the cat back and I want money back. I got money back but don't know if the cat got to see a doctor.

This is the worst staff IN all the dogs places. I have been too.I ask if they had a small female. They said i think a couple. I ask how much. They said ONE is 4900 and the other is 5100.I think they though they were funny, hadzing the old lady. I WILL NEVER COME THERE AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND YOU.

I had a wonderful experience here and would highly recommend it to others looking for a new forever friend. It took me all of about one minute to be greeted by staff. No idea why people are so negative about waiting a bit. Miss Cindy took the time to speak with me and after going over what I was looking for and my living conditions she recommended a few dogs. We took a couple down to the park area and I made my choice of which I'd prefer. I thought it was very nice that she took the time to get to know me a bit and take out of her schedule to go to the park area personally!! The conditions were fine, I didn't notice a bad smell as others have mentioned. Yes it smelled like dogs n cats but not offensive in any way. I've been to far worse facilities trust me. People in this area should be proud they have such a facility! I will make donations to them throughout the year to help them care for the animals as needed. I encourage others to do the same. God bless these people and what they do for our community!!!

This is the best dog park yet on my cross-country journey with a six-month-old boxsky. Tho' there were no other dogs during our visit, she ran and explored the beautifully landscaped and comfortable grassy lawns till she was plenty worn out.

I felt discouraged when I read through these reviews in anticipation of going to the shelter. So I wanted to post something better than one star. We've had multiple people recommend this shelter. With some study and conversations, we were prepared to wait and that it was a crowded facility. Both were true. We were asked for general information when we first got there and kind of left to go look at the dogs on our own. We came back a couple times to the volunteers who helped us narrow down our choices. We found a dog that I think will really fit in with our family and plan to go back in a couple days to get her. I guess my advice is be patient and ask questions. You're going there because you want to adopt an animal and they are volunteering their time because ultimately they want to help these animals find forever homes.

Terrible customer service. Called about info to surrender 2 puppies due to child having allergies. She did not care in the slightest about the dogs, customers or anything to do with doing her job. The woman I spoke with didn't care or have the time of day to bother with me. Told me to just go put them in a local shelter and hope they make it out alive. Terrible thing to say to a person, especially coming from a employee at a animal clinic of any kind.Her name was Cherokee?
