What is not to love/like about this place?! It's full of stories and delicious fried chicken, just wow so good! Full of flavor, not dry at all. The fried okra is just as good. I like the simplicity of the menu. The staff working is so friendly and helpful, you can see the enjoyment from working there in the faces of the employees. The bathrooms were clean. Yes, it's an older establishment, and booth seats are a bit worn down especially the one I sat in.Plenty of parking. Don't wait too long to visit and eat this delicious fried chicken! My third time to come in and I know will be back :)

For those who don’t already know, Eischen’s is the oldest bar in Oklahoma. It was first opened in 1896. If you’ve never been here, don’t come in expecting anything fancy. They don’t even have plates. Your “plate” is a white square of butcher paper. The menu is limited. I mean like really limited. Sides, as most of us think of them, are basically nonexistent. They don’t even serve fries. Also, if you’re looking for “beer from here,” this isn’t your spot. There are no local craft brews on tap. The beer list, much like the menu, is severely limited. There is only a small selection of ho-hum mass market beers available. My wife and I started with some chili cheese nachos. They were exactly like what you would expect to find at a minor league ball game. Tortilla chips topped with lots of fake liquid cheese and canned chili with beans. After experiencing everything I’ve described above, I was at a loss as to why the place was so busy. And then our chicken arrived. If you like crispy, old school fried chicken, this may be the best you’ll ever have. It was fantastic. Oddly, it was served with pickles, onions and wonder bread. I wasn’t really sure what to do with all of that, so I just focused on the chicken and its otherworldly flavor. This place is a must-do if you like fried chicken. If not, you may want to pass.

Over been to this place so many times over the years and it never gets old! They have a small menu but that's what you do - keep it small and do what you do best! The fried chicken is top notch and never had a bad experience.I do like that they are more having you wait to be seated! In years gone by you would have to wait and hover around a table prior to getting seated. Not sure when they started using credit cards but that is now an option. However, we always take cash. The atmosphere is great, old fashioned feel to the place.

If you're seeking an authentic taste of Oklahoma's rich culinary and cultural heritage, look no further than Eischen's Bar. Nestled in the small town of Okarche, this iconic establishment has been serving up mouthwatering fried chicken and ice-cold beverages since 1896, earning it a well-deserved reputation as one of the state's most beloved treasures. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warm hospitality and the irresistible aroma of freshly fried chicken. The rustic charm of the interior, complete with weathered wooden floors and vintage decor, instantly transports you to a bygone era, evoking a sense of nostalgia and comfort. But it's not just the ambiance that makes Eischen's Bar special – it's the food. The star of the show, without a doubt, is their famous fried chicken. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, each bite is a symphony of flavor that leaves you craving more. Paired with a side of tangy pickles and a basket of soft, pillowy rolls, it's a culinary experience that's as satisfying as it is unforgettable. In addition to their legendary chicken, Eischen's Bar boasts an impressive selection of ice-cold beer and cocktails, making it the perfect spot to unwind with friends after a long day. Whether you prefer a classic domestic brew or a handcrafted cocktail, their friendly and knowledgeable staff will ensure that your glass is never empty. What truly sets Eischen's Bar apart, however, is the sense of community that permeates every aspect of the experience. Whether you're a regular patron or a first-time visitor, you're made to feel like family from the moment you walk in. The lively atmosphere, filled with laughter and camaraderie, is infectious, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime. My visit to Eischen's Bar was nothing short of exceptional. From the mouthwatering fried chicken to the welcoming atmosphere, it's a true Oklahoma institution that deserves every bit of its stellar reputation. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to this timeless gem – you won't be disappointed.

I heard this was the best fried chicken in Oklahoma, so I had to see for myself. Upon arriving, it seemed parking was pretty decent. The building is older and honestly, I want sure where the entrance was. Once inside, the interior pretty much matched the outside (aged), but it was clean. The waitress was on top of her job. If I'm being picky, though, she never introduced herself - which is big for me, but not for most people. The menu is on the napkin holders. That shows you how small the selection is. We got the frito pie and the fried chicken. The frito pie was just fritos and some chili and cheese on top. We were not impressed by that dish at all. However, the fried chicken was amazing! It just may be the best fried chicken in Oklahoma as advertised! The prices were a bit hefty, but checking out their chicken is a must!

Absolutely delicious! We always order the whole chicken and a side order of fried okra. The chicken is juicy and tender. The crust is outstanding. The okra is perfectly cooked. Included with the dinner comes a dish of pickles and onions. The onions and pickles are sweet. The service has always been fantastic. We always order carry out and have never had a problem with the order being done correctly. Eischens is a must do and a great place to take out of town guests to eat. Read up on the history of this establishment!!

Please don't order Nachos!Eischen's nachos are probably wonderful, but you go there for several other reasons. One, to say you have been in the oldest operating bar in Oklahoma, two for the fried chicken, three the fried okra, and four the beer! It is a neat little place and well worth the drive from anywhere in Oklahoma. But the chicken and okra are very good. The chicken is served fresh and hot. No siting under the heat lamps waiting on customers. The breading is light and crisp and it is cooked to perfection. The okra is amazing. I am not sure if they bread it there, but it is the best I have ever had. The menu is simple - whole fried chicken and okra. What else do you need? But, it does come with pickles onions and bread. The food is served in paper trays and you use a stack of deli paper for your plate. If you can't eat a whole fried chicken at one setting bring a zip lock bag with you to take home the left overs. (love the smell of fried chicken but not in my car) After a 2-hour drive back to BA I had to taste the leftovers. The okra and chicken were still crisp. Attesting to the fact that it was cooked perfectly!

Nothing fancy - great fried chicken. Not some place I need to visit often, but a cool Oklahoma experience with great history on the wall.Heads up for the little kids and pregnant women- there's higher than safe levels of nitrate in the drinking water (safe is 10mg/L, they have 14mg/L). We were never told this, i just happened to see the warning on the wall on the way to the bathroom. That is a foul, imo.

My first time here, and I went with a couple of my team workers. We had been told about the place by a local. I just have to say if I could give 10 stars, I would. The service, the quality of all the food, is fantastic and only surpassed by the chicken itself. This is by far the best chicken I have ever had. It comes hot, cooked perfectly, no oil on the meat and moist. You will definitely eat more than you think. It is well worth the drive out to the restaurant. Don't waste anytime and just go.

I don’t know if this place is a local secret but this is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! Really old school and very traditional in the best way. This place was slammed! Not an empty seat in there and apparently it’s like that every night. I can honestly see why. If you are the type that has to have forks and plates and can’t get a little messy while eating than this isn’t the place for you. Although I would still say give it shot! Here your plate is some placement paper and that’s about it! They give you chicken and you just go to town on it! Such a cool experience and loved every minute of it. Everyone’s laughing and eating and having such a great time. The restaurant as a whole just gives you giant family reunion vines while grandmas cooking in the chicken. Amazing restaurant and would highly recommend coming here!

Two of us sat at the bar and ordered the whole chicken. Delicious and the okra is crispy. The onion and pickle tray features onions soaked in white wine vinegar which gives a unique taste! Good! Bread and butter pickles and dill are provided. The staff are SO friendly and helpful. If you've never been.....you are missing a great time!

Haven't been here in a while. It was pretty busy when we got there. The wait for the nachos wasn't long but it seemed like it took forever for the chicken. It was worth the wait though. It was hot and flavorful. The okra with the onions, pickles and bread were a great addition to it. I just wish there was a full bar. All in all it was worth the drive.

The food is THE BEST 👌 however wait times to get a seat AND for food to come to the table are usually 45min to 2hrs depending on the day. Saturdays are the busiest by far. It is the best fried chicken you will ever have and if you can afford to wait it is 100% WORTH ITKid-friendliness: There are some games for kids and I always see tons of kids and families with small children when I've gone.

Eischen’s is an Oklahoma staple. We visit a few times a year and I assure you we’d visit more if it was closer to home. The chicken, the okra, and the nachos are delicious. We always get a pitcher of beer to enjoy as well. Sometimes the service can be rough, but that comes with the crowd and I wouldn’t take a star away for that. Go give it a try and get the nachos to start!

Ive been going here for years and the fried chicken is hard to beat unless you got grandma's recipe and her touch this is the next best thing! They could use a few more servers but the food is great and freshly made...Parking: Parking is not bad ..Kid-friendliness: My children love the food !

If you are going for delicious chicken, this is the place. If you are going for side dishes and want mashed potatoes and gravy, this is not the place. It's a very simple place with white bread, pickles and onions served with your whole chicken. They have fried okra and nachos and a couple of other main dish options. No plates. This place is all about the fried chicken and it was delicious. I gave it 4 stars. However, the chicken is 5 stars.

Always amazing. Simply the absolute best fried chicken in the state of Oklahoma. I cannot say more about the chicken you will eat. It will be the lightest breaded, juiciest, tastiest, delicious chicken that you will experience in the Oklahoma City metro area. Yeah, it’s a bit outside the metro, but stop by Holy Trinity to see the most beautiful Church as well.Parking: Plenty.

First time coming here and I have to say it was by far the friendliest experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a while.Customer service was beyond anything you could ask for, we never went without needing our drinks refilled, our food was fresh made to order, chicken is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Very local, very small town. Hospitality is unmatched. Highly recommend!

🐔 Eischen's Chicken is not just a restaurant; it's an experience steeped in history. As the oldest bar in Oklahoma, the atmosphere is rich with a sense of tradition that you can feel the moment you walk in. Although the original establishment burned down, the new-ish location has done an incredible job of preserving its storied past. One of the highlights is a section of the original bar, hand-carved in Spain in the early 1800s, which serves as a captivating focal point and conversation starter. But let's not forget the star of the show: 🍗the chicken. Juicy, succulent, and irresistibly delicious, it's no wonder people come from all over the world to taste it. The drive is more than worth it for this world-class fried chicken. Eischen's is a must-visit for both food enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Five stars aren't enough! Honestly it's Rizz-ilicious!Parking: Plenty of street parking and parking lot availableKid-friendliness: Plenty of room for strollers and to accommodate children of all sizes.
