My Dog who is deaf was seriously injured after being struck by a very large truck out in the County. No other vet in the area would even consider seeing him, they told me to go to just to Joplin or Tulsa. I called Hometown Pet Care & there was zero hesitation. They said "Bring him in"! By the time I arrived Dr. Prescott, His Nurse Jennifer, & his whole team were standing at the door waiting for me. They were be very sympathetic to the fact that my dog is deaf, very scared, and very likely fixing to die. The Dr. was honest &, he told me what I already knew. The chances of my Furry Buddy making it, was slim because he was in such bad shape, & had a high potential of not being normal if he did make it. He was was in critical, & guarded condition. Dr Prescott & his team wasted no time by asking a whole lot of financial or insurance questions. They just got right to work. Turned out my little buddy had a severely Fractured Mandible, a Herniated Diaphragm with displaced organs, & numerous other traumatic injuries that weren't in his favor, It seemed like there was no way he could make it. He stayed in the hospital well over a week. Needless to say I was heart broken & very worried. Dr.Prescott minced no words & was very honest. but also very caring.It was touch and go for the first few days. Everytime "Home Town Pet Care" showed up on my caller ID, I felt sick & just knew they were calling to tell me he didn't make it. But it was just Dr Prescott taking time to personally call me and give me an update. And by the Mercy of God & three surgeries later my little buddy came out like a champ. Every single Day the Dr would call me at least once sometimes twice & give me an update. I myself am retired but I worked in Critical Care for almost 30 years as a licensed Critical Care Provider, I was on the Trauma Team at a Level 1 facility or many of those years, but I worked in Human patients that most of the time could communicate & tell where it hurt, I admit, I was lost when it came to dogs.But I do know very well the dedication and emotional stress it takes to do that type of work on any being. I'm telling you Dr Prescott is one of those kind of people. I am very impressed, with his level of skill, professionalism, and empathy. I will not take any of my Animal friends to anyone else. I don't hand out compliments as much as I probably should, but this man and his care team really deserve these accolades, and I pray that God will continue to bless their hands, hearts, & minds. We had a horrible experience at Hometown Pet Care. The vet was not compassionate. He was condescending to me and my husband. They charged us an astronomical amount and for services that weren’t performed. It is pretty obvious that your dogs nails haven’t been cut. I would definitely find any other place to take my fur baby!

We are fairly new to Miami Oklahoma and decided to try another local veterinarian. This clinic was so friendly and helped us with our dog. The veterinarian provided great care for our dog and let us know how much the services would cost. I'm very happy with this clinic, and I'm super picky about vets. I am glad we found this clinic and will bring all our furbabies here.

Changing my rating. Stopped in there for some advice. Just wanted to ask the vet 2 simple questions. I realize we didn't have an appt, but we need some help. We live south of town & it's a drop off spot for cats. We are overloaded. Can't keep up anymore trying to get the females fixed. Have called every shelter we can think of from Tulsa to Joplin, but the ones that do contact us back, which is very few, claim to not have room in their shelters for more cats. We stopped to ask the vet about one of the kittens....it has a ruptured eye. We're looking for advice on how to care for it, we can't afford the visit let alone surgery. But the vet wouldn't take a moment to speak with us, & the person at the front desk was no help. Doesn't anyone care to help anymore unless they're getting paid to? Sad.

I believe these folks were trying to upsell me find all the latest pharmaceutical products. My dog still have. And their problems are not resolved. I think the vet could have spent a little more time with my animals. He didn't even tell me his name. I was very disappointed 😞.

Our experience (5 years) with Dr Prescott, Jennifer, and the entire team at Hometown Pet Care has been positive. Dr. Prescott is knowledgeable, caring, and easy to talk to. He and the entire staff have always treated our 2 cottons with care.When I call with questions, they always take time to fully answer or they call back after speaking with the Dr. Once, during a major emergency, I received a callback in the middle of the night to discuss what happened and make sure we took appropriate actions. The follow up care we received over the recovery period was very helpful as well.

Very impressed with our first visit here. Our Libby is very shy and with it being curbside she was scared without her owners with her. The doctor and assistant came with her outside and did a little parking lot visit. Dr. Explained everything throurghly and we received Excellent care! So I took my cat here yesterday he just looks pretty sick to me he was really skinny and acting odd but anyway the vet here really was concerned about my animal and you can tell by the looks on his face so he did a couple tests and found out some situations going on but I'll tell you what this place is very caring about animals he really must love his job so if you're in the area anywhere and you have an animal be sure to take it Hometown Pet Care Miami Oklahoma and I live in Joplin he's worth the drive.

Highly recommended!!! You Moved back to Miami 2 years ago I have taken my dogs several places for routine care. Love Dr. Prescott and his staff he is very personal takes time and even calls to follow up. My senior dogs have severe dental issues they are 14 years old and have always had problems Boomer our little poodle has really been through a lot in 14 years and he’s a scaredy cat even after 11 professional cleanings most of his teeth had to removed today we are very pleased Dr. Prescott took time to listen to our concerns and treat accordingly. We just moved to Miami Oklahoma in September with a very sick cat who had a very bad case of pneumonia, after our 1st vet did not help cure it. We brought him here they recommended us to a specialist, and the specialist had us set our cat up with a nebulizer. Once the 1st round of solution was gone. We went to them to get more solution for the nebulizer and doctor Prescott did nothing but push push euthanasia on my fiancee and even charges for a $200 medicine that wasn't the original stuff that the specialist gave us. Our cat is now very healthy and fine because we stopped going there and just went just to the specialist.

I would not recommend this Dr. For anything. I spent almost 700.00 here and got nothing substantial for my cheweenies back problems. He offers no laser treatments, hydrotherapy, cbd treatment, he is cold, he had to put my baby to sleep to xray her back and he charged 14.50 to trim her nails. I will never go back there for anything!!!!!!

They receive kind, compassionate, and thorough care. The doctor and staff know them by name, and remember specific details regarding their health, personalities, and needs. I was really excited to be able to have our dog bordered close by as we decided to do a quick overnite in Miami OK.but when we went to pick up no one was there. After waiting for over 45 min and going thru the local PD someone finally showed up with the reason was they were unaware as to why the person didn't show up. So if we didn't have to pick up our dog no one would of known that they had a no show to take care of the dogs that was in there care. I was so disappointed and felt bad for the dogs in there care. Never will use them again.!!!

Took my cat for annual vaccinations and to trim his claws. It was midday and quiet so he didn't get upset. The whole thing went so well, no drama at all. The staff gave him a moment to relax, then he was finished before he knew what happened. The doctor and staff seem to understand cats. My Cabbit left happy and was actually in a good mood the rest of the day.
