South main is my favorite store. People that work there are great. Not only helpful but also sweet. A few of them like to talk a bit And that's fine with me. But I think some customer don't like it. Some customers Have no patience at all. This store has had hard time keeping store stocked. But they are cleanest of all stores around here. They do their best to satisfy and keep ya smiling.

Worst DG, I've ever been to. The cashier wouldn't let us come through her line, made us use self checkout but took everyone else through her line. Got mad at us because we had beer and you can't buy beer through self checkout. I didn't even know that because I don't bloody work there and again, I didn't want to use self checkout to begin with. At this point she calls the manager over and it got worse from there, she was so bloody rude to us. By the time we left, I was in tears and popping anxiety medication (social anxiety). So yeah, I won't be back. I'm sure Walmart will be happy to take the hundreds of dollars I used to spend at DG without causing me a complete meltdown.The manager, especially, has no place working in customer service.

They have gotten the store a little more on order thankfully they still have two cashier's as well as 2 self check out cleanliness is a 7 out of ten cluttered most of time carts always on floor always busy bless they're ❤️

At the time of my visit, the store was very cluttered, most of the aisles had racks of boxes that needed to be emptied and stocked. To be honest they don't seem to have enough help to get the store stocked properly. Other than that, the staff are friendly and service is good.

In general the coupons worked great but almost everything I needed was out of stock. The shelves were practically empty for the most part. I love coming here and would have loved to given more stars.

One of the better dollar generals ive been to. It is very clean shelves are almost always full. Staff is great help. They do not have alot of clutter everywhere, can easily access and navigate the aisle.

I used to work at this store, and as an employee it was a miserable place to work. My boss called me in for her shifts on almost all of my days off, and the stock sits in the back room till it either expires or gets lost in the mess. Be sure to check your meat for this reason. It's very disorganized, the managment is not welcoming, and the employees are over worked because only two at a time work the store. So whoever is the manager of the shift has to run the store, stock, clean, manage the safe, and work register while helping customers. Do not work here. However, despite the circumstances the employees are very nice, and they try their best to keep up with demand. Its just hard when the demand is so high, and theres only so many of them to work.

I found everything I needed, then some. The employees were helpful, considerate and efficient. As a visitor to McAlester, I was surprised at how difficult it was to get where I wanted to go due to all the road construction. However, the store was easy to find and easy. I'm not sure what type of neighborhood this store is in but some of the customers were sorta sketchy (of course, that isn't really the stores fault..I'm only mentioning it because some people would be alarmed by that) I will go there again if I am in McAlester anytime.

Not good. Takes entirely too long to get checked out. I saw 3 people walk in then turn around and walk out when they saw the long line @ checkout. Only 1 checker. 2 employees were up front. Only 1 checking to help customers get checked out. This is the $ store on south main close to sonic drive in. Nort main $store is the better one in McAlester Oklahoma. 4 stars for north main store.

This is the dirtiest store I've ever seen, everything about it seems frazzled, the employees are nice but they're surrounding sucks. Also it seems like there are not enough employees there maybe that's why the place looks so down and out on the inside.

I was there relatively late and the store had more folks getting their shopping done than when I was there during the day. This store is conveniently located on s main for folks who just don't want to got all the way to larger stores and prices are good for your pocket book

This is a very unique store, unlike your normal department stores its prices are lower for everyday items. Lots of name brand products, within the 3 to 5 dollar range. Some stores have a small grocery section, which makes it easy yo grab a loaf of bread , or a gallon of milk.

I recently moved from Krebs to near this store. I am not happy with the service here! Ive had problems since I started coming here! was charged too much for potting soil and its hard to find things here ! maybe I am spoiled by the Krebs store! they are so nice & helpful over there !

Everything was awesome I love to remodel job that they did on the store they have a lot more to offer and the people was very friendly and will help you out and the cashier she was awesome too awesome job on the remodel

I came in today. There were no carts. Like 10 cars in parking lot. This is the biggest dg in Mcalester. I was holding a big bag of dogfood and cat food and a 12 pk of beer. There was like 6 people in line ahead of me. They should've opened another register, i think. I put my stuff down and walked out.

This Dollar general was a lot better than most! At least you can find what you were looking for and everything wasn't on carts in the middle of the aisle so you couldn't get to anything!

I have never had an issue with this location. Its typically as organized as any other Dollar General and the staff have always been helpful and respectful.

This store would be fine if you didn't always have to wait forever in line to be checked out. It's frustrating to be like 9th in line and only one cashier.

One of the biggest dollar stores I've ever been to. They have a lot here. I always like going in for their sales and I use the mobile coupons.
