These people are the WORST OF HUMAN KIND. I signed a adoption form WITH my number. They said they would get her spayed and get her shots and they would call me when she was ready. I told them I'd be back in a few weeks. She acted as if she was gonna put her in a box and I said not today, she has a attitude and I didn't realize they were gonna do me dirty. And they did. They adopted her out behind my back and said they didn't have my number. When it's literally on a copied piece of paper that I filled out with my address and everything included. They said they don't do holds but yet agreed to hold her for me just to screw me over.They where rude and as I explained how they did me wrong and how hurt I was she hung up on me. 2 times.These people don't care about you and they had my number and they just chose to be LAZY. I do not recommend these people and if you have strays don't call this place, cause it sounds like in the reviews from below that they ignore phone calls for strays as well.

I give a no star rating they promised my sister a cat and had her fill out paper work for the cat. and they told her they were going to call her when they got her fixed and all her shot. then come to find out they gave the cat away to someone else. Then they proceeded to say they never made her that promise and went back on what they said. So of course my sister was hurt about it. When she tried to express how she felt and how hurt she was about it they hung up on her. My sister called them back and asked the lady did you hang up. The lady said no and then hung up again. They are very rude and unprofessional.

We have adopted two dogs from here. Both were already neutered and spayed. The adoption fee does cover that if needed along with rabies vaccine. Our two dogs are the sweetest, smartest dogs I have ever seen. I can't believe they sat in the shelter as long as they did! We are so lucky to have them! They even knew some commands. Please consider adopting a pet!

The staff is extremely caring and patient. My wife saw a post about a beautiful momma dog that had been in the shelter for four months. We decided to bring the kids to see the momma's temperament. We were running late and called the shelter. The staff stayed late for us and were great help in introducing the momma to our family. We learned the staff had been caring for her like she was part of their family. She had been going for walks, car rides, and had even spent a week at the Guthrie Police Department. We adopted her and as we loaded her into our car the staff said their goodbyes and shed a few tears. It was obvious how much they care for the animals. I highly recommend rescuing a shelter dog and highly recommend the Guthrie Animal Shelter.

I took the shelter an abandoned male cat that was pretty torn up from fighting. They neutered him, gave him vaccinations, and doctored his wounds. They took such good care of him! I went back a few weeks later and he was still there, happy to see me, so I adopted him and added him to my cat pack. They are one of the most compassionate, clean, professional animal shelters I’ve ever seen. I wish Crescent had such a place for lost, scared animals to “shelter”, instead of the horror stories I’ve heard!

I'm only giving 5 stars because their staff is extremely kind and legitimately care for the animals and their well-being. Now my reason for having to find that out is nobodies fault but my own due to my very friendly dog thought some kids needed a chauffeur walking to school one morning. 🤦

They claim that they don't have any medical facilities at an animal shelter.So I see no point to taking a cat there that might be in trouble.
