Great salon! Erika does my hair and she is fabulous. She's a genius with color. I've been going here for a few years and I'm never disappointed. I also appreciate that they don't run clients through the chair as fast as possible. It's nice to stretch the "salon day pampering" out for a few hours and have the end result be fantastic!

The atmosphere is very laid back and nice! The music is good, and if you're like me who gets nervous going somewhere new, there are two little doggies there who love to sit in your lap and let you pet them. The stylists are very good at working with their customers and finding the right style for you. I'm very happy with how my hair turned out and will definitely go back.

I was a client for about two years. Initially, my experience was pleasant. However, my stylist began arriving late for my appointments (I was her first of the day). She never notified me that she was running late, and her tardiness (typically 20-30 minutes) unfortunately made me late for the rest of my day following my appointment. I ultimately switched to another salon because of my stylist’s unapologetic, habitual problem with punctuality. I was always happy with my hair, but didn’t enjoy being at the salon for three hours among the chaos and dogs that I was allergic to.The prices are on the high side — that’s no secret. Yes, the results are good, but it’s also sad to see walk-ins leaving because they can’t afford the outrageous prices.It’s no secret that there are two dogs in the shop. Not sure who labeled them as ‘service’ or ‘therapy’ dogs, but they are neither. Simply put, they are the owner’s dogs. They are not service dogs and they are not therapy dogs. They are pets. Are they cute? Sure. But like so many other dogs, I saw them use the restroom on the floor, and even found a tick on one when she was sitting in my lap. Aren’t there rules about having animals in salons?The shop is run down. I often saw insects (ants, etc), and the air system is inadequate for the summer heat.The stylists book every 45 minutes, meaning that if you are there for a cut and color, your appointment will absolutely intersect with someone else’s. The shop is very small, and having multiple stylists each with at least two clients at a time — shop gets uncomfortably crowded.Overall, the Funky Hair Ranch is a pretty miserable experience. They try hard to make it a cool, hip place — but the effort is forced and feels disingenuous. Feels more like a chaotic mess than a nice time at the salon.

I've only been twice but so far, so good. The salon is very charming and interesting. Hair cuts have been great and the people seem as if you'd be friends even if they weren't cutting your hair. (And they play good music in there as well : )

Well been looking for a new stylist. Last one was real flaky. Nice to see a place that acts professional, easy going, and feel at home while there. No rush, and attention to detail is why I am going back to JC's. Highly recommend.UPDATE, May 31, 2016 - I have added some pictures of the sweet dog and puppy you can find at JC's Funky Hair Ranch. The puppy Wyatt is not always onsite, so if it is your desire to play with the dog / puppy, call ahead and confirm. The dogs are people friendly and loved to be played with.
