Drive from Texas to Oklahoma for "Tex-Mex"? Really? Well, that's not totally accurate, we were near here for other reasons, but this place would be well worth the drive. We ate here twice in four days, lunch both times, and the food was fantastic!Started with fresh chips and some very tasty salsa, added in some queso Blanco, and we were off to a great start. Between our two visits we had beef, chicken and cheese Enchiladas, chicken fajitas, flautas, and a chicken chimichanga; and of course beans and rice. ALL were hot, fresh and extremely flavorful.Cost being another important consideration, this place hits another home run. Most meals were $8.99 to $11.99, and serving sizes did not leave us hungry. Staff on both visits were very friendly and attentive. If you're anywhere close to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, you can't go wrong with Papa Poblano's!

From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're welcomed with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor is colorful and lively, which adds to the overall ambiance. The menu is extensive and features a variety of traditional Mexican dishes, such as fajitas, tacos, and enchiladas. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, and you're sure to leave feeling full and satisfied.Papa Poblanos' staff was attentive and offers wonderful service. They are aware of the menu and will gladly make recommendations if you are unsure what to order. The restaurant is very spotless, and you can see the employees working hard to keep everything in order. In addition to the great food and service, the prices at Papa Poblanos are very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality of the food. The restaurant is also conveniently located in the heart of Broken Bow, making it easily accessible to both locals and visitors.Overall, I highly recommend Papa Poblanos in Broken Bow. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner with friends or a family night out, this restaurant is a great choice.

Flavor: CService: ATea: ASolo dining: AThe enchiladas are good but the fajita meat lacks flavor. They have both white and yellow queso. We chose white but next time it’ll be yellow to see if it has more flavor.

Great everything.Salsa could use some more cilantro but other than that, chips are thick which I prefer thinner but still very fresh and delish!Cold brewski and the interior is eclectic Mexican and beautifully done.Music is nice. One of our GO TO places when we are here in town.

Standalone restaurant with somewhat limited parking. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean and in good order. Wait staff was polite but not overly friendly. Menu provided a large sell selection of items. Chips and sauce were ok. Sauce was rather bland. I had the Alarmbre. Unfortunately I did not like it. Overall it is a nice place but not exceptional.Update. Went back for lunch. Food portions are very large for the price. Service was good. Found out they have other sauces available. The chipotle sauce is very good. This is a good place for lunch.

We had the best late afternoon lunch over the weekend. It was our first time to dine here, the locals told us it would not disappoint and they were spot on. Do yourself a favor and ask for the red and green sauce, so good! Our waitress was attentive and kind, the house margaritas were some of the best I've had in the area. We will be back!

We were there at 8pm so it wasn't busy. Service was satisfactory and food came out promptly. Food was OK until we found a staple in the tortillas for the fajitas. When brought to the attention of the manager she came to the table and made some lame excuse for why it was in our fajitas. Made no attempt to do anything about it. There was a service charge for using a credit card. Who does that in this electronic age? Later that night I was sick and threw up. Just a coincidence??? I would not recommend this restaurant.

Food was fine but did not expect to pay $10.50 per margarita. The price was not listed on the menu online but I assumed it would be around $8 (typical cost of a margarita the size we received). One margarita cost more than my husbands entire meal. We were also charged a “large group” fee for a group of 8, 4 of those being children. The service was minimal, had to wait 20+ minutes to receive our bill. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant if you are traveling through Broken Bow. We were definitely disappointed with the food, service, and cost.

First the place was spotless including bathrooms. I’m a big believer in clean dining and bathrooms equals a clean kitchen! The white queso is a must and the big papa margaritas will not disappoint especially if you don’t like overly sweet margaritas. We had the beef fajitas and they were so good. Thinly sliced steak and perfectly sautéed veggies. Beans were ok but the rice is some of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I added mushrooms to my fajitas and it was delicious. This Texan was very happy with everything including the amazing service by Harold! This is a repeat when we are back in the area.

First off, I am not usually one to leave bad reviews or any reviews at all. People who run restaurants are human and things happen...... but my family and I were down for a few days for spring break. We drove past this place several time over the 3 day period. On the last night my wife and I decided to try it. So please read this whole review. I walked in and was greeted and asked how I could be helped. I told them I was not from the area but had been by this place several times. I ordered a Hometown special and a party platter off the appetizer menu. While I was waiting an older later came walking up to the counter madder than a hornet and said she had been waiting by herself for over 25 minutes. The hostess and one of the waiters tried to get her to stay but she said she wanted to leave and was tired of the wait. She argued with the person checking her out about nobody coming to inform her of her order and still made her pay for her meal. Second, another lady walked in and asked if her food was ready and the hostess said it would be right out. By now I've waited 5 minutes or so. Group by group kept coming in and there became quite the crowd in the foyer area. All this is understandable. After waiting 15 minutes, someone from the back came to the front to tell me and the other lady waiting our food would be right out. I waited and the other lady waited and now 25 minutes into the wait I nor the other lady had our food. At 28 minutes the lady who showed up after me got her food and left. After sitting there for another 5 minutes my food came out and was handed to me. Nobody told me thank you or apologized for the wait. Our stay is 5 minutes down the road. When I got back to our house we opened our food and I was less than impressed. My wife got the hometown special and it came in a huge to go box and it was only half full with a few pieces of chicken with minimal cheese sauce. For $12 I expected a little more food. The party platter I got smelled great but the food was cold and seemed to have been sitting for a while before either was handed to me. The nachos and flautas were soggy. When I started eating the other food it was bland and didn't have much flavor. My wife and I hadn't ate anything since lunch at 11:30 and within a few hours were both sick to our stomachs and not feeling well. I tried to call about my experience but the phone kept ringing. I hate to leave a bad review but this was not an enjoyable experience and I will probably not be back. Thanks!

The prices here are phenomenal. We came in as a group of 7 for lunch and were very happy to see lunch menu prices were extremely reasonable compared to those in DFW. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and the plate came out super fast and hot! The food was very fresh and tasty. Overall, this is a great place to fill up and not break the bank. Our server Carina was extremely nice and patient. She served with a smile while working on her birthday. I will most definitely return during my next cabin trip.

We were in Broken Bow last night and decided to stop at this establishment to eat. We waited 10 minutes and no one helped us. There was a lady at the cash register who checked out a family. We were still standing there when thy left. The lady, just started putting things under the counter and did not acknowledge us. Two other wait staff, saw us too, put just walked away. We left, needless to say. That was the rudest place I have ever been too. Apparently, some of the staff didn't want to work. It was easier to ignore us, then to actually do their jobs.I didn't even rate the service because they didn't even deserve 1 star!

Stopped in here while traveling. Seemed like a good Mexican restaurant. Tried the most basic item called the “hometown special”. This was cheesy chicken on Spanish rice. The chicken was clearly precooked , possibly from a supermarket bag, and the cheese was not actually cheese but instead was squeeze cheese like you would get on nachos at a ballpark. It was terrible.

This is one of the top dine-in places in Broken Bow. The entrance of the restaurant is very beautiful, the colors, vibe, everything makes you feel you are at a Mexican place right away. The restaurant and restrooms are very well maintained. They have a very friendly crew, you can always find someone to attend you anytime. A variety of items in the menu just like other Mexican restaurants, the food is fresh and very tasty. They can alter the ingredients to fit your allergy needs. They are very accommodative to your requests.Being in a small town, this restaurant is a must visit. The place gets very crowded during peak lunch and dinner times.Features: The restaurant is cleaned from time to time, the staffs are not wearing any masks, the customers are also not insisted to wear one.

Went to this place based on the raving reviews but it ended up being a miss for us. The food tasted okay, but just wasn’t our cup of tea. We were really looking forward to trying their horchata but the server told us they didn’t have any. Later we saw other tables being served horchata, so we were confused. The service was okay too. We did end up having to wait a bit to ask for things we were missing and then the check.

Wow...... I read a lot of these reviews that is what made us choose this restaurant over the other one we had picked. We didn't want to do tex mex while we were in Broken Bow because that's all Texas has. But after reading the reviews I highly suggest making a stop you most definitely will not be disappointed. Edwardo was our waiter and he was the best waiter we have had our whole trip. He guided us on the right margarita and food. Definitely suggest like the other review on ordering the red and green salsa. The red is my favorite. We got the quesadilla with steak and ham wow. Then the chorizo fajita plate phenomenal. White queso is definitely a must. 10/10 recommend making this a stop at some point and time on your visit.

We had a great experience here. The staff was very polite and courteous. They brought out chips and salsa quickly and the food wasn’t too far behind that. Both my wife and I’d food was great! Very authentic and flavorful. I would actually say it’s the best Mexican rice I’ve ever had. We had a top shelf margarita and I would put it at the top of the list. I would certainly come back!

Seated quickly, served slowly. Did not receive a refill on chips and salsa until after our meal was finished. Thats a little frustrating considering we'd asked our server three times for more chips. He acknowledge our request but each time disappeared to parts unknown. It could be that the server role is a little beyond the poor guys grasp. He seemed to have good intentions so I didn't diminish the rating further. The stuffed pablano peppers with chili were bland. I'd eat there again if other restaurants weren't open.
