Two stars for a clean store and the very few employees that are ever around to help. I understand the point of self-check out and I use it when I can— but for a location where the self-checkout often doesn’t except cash, you can literally never find anyone to help or ring you out. And you can hear them in the office right behind the register, but they just… idk, don’t care?? As someone who has done the retail/customer service song and dance for years, I revile people who complain for no reason… but truly, they could be doing more. My suspicion is lazy and/or bad management.

Nate Tingle is THE ONLY reason I'm giving even 1 star! Store manager, Robin, is VERY rude and unhelpful to co-workers and to the customers! I was banned from Windham store for unknown reasons! Trying to call the corporate office is next to impossible! Finally got someone to answer after 3 days of trying to calling. The woman says that she will have to send Robin's district manager to find out why I was banned and try to resolve any issues. Fat lot of good that's going to do!! The district manager is her best friend!! They need to replace Robin with a new store manager! Someone who actually cares about the store, the customers and the employees!

One employee that's great Nate Tingler, HE Sees You And helps you and checks you out. Manager was so rude to a gentleman yelling arguing with him in a nice way but sarcastic. Waiting in line is forever registers never work you run through store looking for someone to check you out. Most are elderly longtime Windham residents don't know how to use self check.need to hire cashiers and fire that sarcastic manager. Someone should be at register at all times. That's just bad business no stars from me.

Every time I go to this store I have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get service. Add a dinger or a bell that we can hit to get service. Every other Dollar General always has someone at the front. This has been an ongoing problem. People need to load debit cards, buy smokes,ice or anything behind the counter. You can't take care of that with self checkout.

The staff at this store has fallen to some of the wearst I've ever seen .. the manager in charge acts like if you have a problem with the self checkout it's all your fault and will leave you standing there and go back to her office and ignore that you're there .. I stop In this store many times a week .. and do most of grocery shopping there .. but if this continues I'll be taking my money to IGA .. may cost a little more but at least I won't leave feeling like I was bothering the people working there ..

Clean! Amazing Layout, Room to shop, large stock with produce, wall of coolers, & freezers, I have never been so impressed with a Dollar General. Only negative is the prices do not reflect the installation of its self checkout. I also feel employees expect customers to use self checkout. This statment applies to any DG with self checkout.SIDE NOTE: The store used to be located on the west side of the street. It is now literally across the street now on the east side. Google has not yet updated locations.

We just moved to Windham and love the community. It's so nice to have a DG so close. Lots of selection including produce. Employees are always so nice. The self checkout is so convenient.

UPDATED INFORMATION: Store moved across the street to brand new bigger building. It's nice and clean with the newer DG layout. Unfortunately it is now understaffed, and has been for quite some time. I've known qualified people who've applied for work there through DG's online application process. This location does not appear to be looking for staff or interviewing according to the site. Quite often, it is difficult to check out because the cashier is unavailable, working or finishing taks in other areas of the store.. Although self check-out is available, this is a lower income area of Portage County. A large portion of customers use EBT which doesn't process well with self check-out. The cash back system doesn't function at all since moving the store. It is desperately in need of staff. Sometimes staple pantry items are just missing. Shelf space is just empty. (This may not be the fault of this store, this is happening a lot with all DG stores.) I will be lowering my star rating. It is a shame the old little crowded store was operating much more efficiently and was friendlier, and had long term staff and knowledgeable local employees. Almost none were retained when business moved to new building.Original Review:Friendly and knowledgeable staff and managers with are on the floor and available to customers.

Don't come here if you need their assistance at the register unless you have plenty of time to wait on them to be physically present.... because they seldom are. AWFUL.
