I was able to meet with a volunteer at a convenient time and they gave me all the time I needed to choose a kitten to bring home. Very friendly volunteers and reasonable adoption fees. So far this little girl I brought home is the sweetest thing!

Got my dog here in 2008, she's 10 now. Mixed breed dog and has been the best dog I've ever had. Thank God for people that help animals.

I am giving a 3 and not a 1 star in hopes my situation was just very poor communication among the staff and not that they were trying to hide information.My husband and I went to adopt a dog and even gave a 40 dollar donation at the time. I kept asking for information on the animal beforehand and I was assured he was a great dog. Well he had some issues and so within the 7 day return policy we took him back. It broke our hearts returning a dog like that but we just didn’t feel it was right with our other pet and lifestyle.When I was returning the dog which is in my right to do the staff was extremely rude to me. Saying things like this dog is unadoptable now ( as if it was all my fault) and putting words in my mouth. While at the same time reaffirming why I was bringing him back. They also started telling me stuff about him that was left out during the adoption process.I do feel like they withheld a lot of information on purpose and then blamed me for returning the dog and I just don’t think that is right. Even when I returned him I took some nice photos and shares all the behaviors we noticed during his stay and they acted so unappreciative not to mention our small donation to the shelter. Needless to say I won’t be going back there.

Today our cat went to the Spay/Neuter clinic. Everyone there was friendly, polite and knowledgeable. The facility was clean. I am impressed with the cost of everything provided!!! My cat was neutered, tested for illnesses, had his ears cleaned, and was given his first round of shots. When I came to pick him up after the surgery, he was on a clean pad sleeping peacefully. I was given a chart to take with me to the veterinarian for his next booster shot. It included everything needed to communicate what they performed on him. I was even given some kitten wormer with detailed instructions. The paperwork has an emergency contact phone number and what to keep an eye on during recovery. I enjoyed the smell of whatever they used. He came home smelling clean. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone.

I rescued a tiny kitten. Called this organization multiple times to seek help or direction. Also called several others. Clinton County Humane Society never returned my calls until after I called Commissioner Kerry Steed to complain. Thanks to him, I finally got a call TEN days after the fact. However, another organization took the kitten six days prior. This sort of response is unprofessional and disturbing. Thanks again Kerry.

The process of adding a puppy to my family was very easy. The facility seemed very clean. And Connie who helped me at the shelter could not have been any nicer. They receive no financial aid from any governmental sources. All volunteers who work and staff the shelter. Great!!!

Very impressed. Clean modern building. Volunteer, Connie, was enthusiastic and friendly while still being professional. She clearly loves the animals. We came home with a new 2 yr old Doxie-Beagle mix. She's perfect!

I got my dog on Monday she is a beagle/spaniel mix. When I went to the shelter it was great they make sure these dogs get great homes and you can tell how well treated they are.I suggest if you are looking for a loveable friend to go here. My dog is so playful. Thank you Clinton county human society for letting me adopt Minnie she is so well-behaved.

I found a puppy online and I started the communication to find out more about the puppy and what I would need to do to adopt him. Well the description they had of him was incorrect, he was not "shy" as they said but he was fearful and very skittish. No one over there answers the phone and rarely is anyone there. They said his adoption fee was $140, but then charged me $145...no big deal but..you get my point. They stated that his other siblings were adopted and they "opened up" within a few days. Well, I feel sorry for Merlin he is still in his shell and it will cost me over $1000 to get him professional help. The behaviorist I am working with said someone over there should have started to work with him and get him to trust people and not just toss him in a cage and hope for the best. They could have also taken a few minutes to give him a bath and comb out his fur. The poor little guy smelled like pee all the way back to Michigan. Then I took him to the vet for a wellness check and yes..the poor little guy had dead ear mites that yes again they should have cleaned him up and checked him out but they didn't. Oh, and they give you a sheet that says he was vet checked don't believe it. My vet said there is no way he was seen buy a vet. He is 7lbs underweight as well. This place is a terrible excuse for a rescue. Stay away or if you do get your fur baby from there report them to the highest department that you can. That is what I am going to do. The best part is when I comforted them about the above matters no one is getting back to me like I am shocked.

There was one rude lady that i absolutely did not care for (maybe having a bad day so i wont judge too much) because she said we had to have an appointment (didnt know) so not that big of a deal but the way she presented it was not very welcoming so I hope having a bad day is the case because that might turn away adopters if that happens alot, but got my dog here a couple days later and she is an absolute sweetheart. The elderly woman who accepted our application and helped us pick her out was very nice and i appreciate the visit. We've had our dog for a year now and wouldnt trade her for anything in the world.

Alot of dogs to choose from if wanting to adopt.I had called because I needed help rehoming one of my dogs. I left message after message, even made a trip out there & left my name and number for a return call. I had my dog in 6 different homes in a little under a month. Needless to say I never received a call back right away but it took them 8-10 days to call me back and by that time I told them I no longer needed their services.I found a home for my dog on my own.

After much time searching Petfinder for a black and tan short haired Dachshund, I found my new best buddy at this shelter!I had given up all hope when I searched the app once more and spotted him 2 yrs ago!He was just 10 weeks old,and was JUST WHAT I WANTED!Yes, no one answered the phone,but I left amessage and a nice volunteer by the name of Eileen returned my call.I named him Ein,and he IS JUST THE BEST!He has AKC titles in obedience and rally,CGC, and we are working on more!Thank you Clinton County Humane for getting us together!!

I adopted a Lab mix, Peppy, and I have never had a better dog in my life. I didn't save him, he saved me. he is fat and happy, and a professional couch potato, and if there is a morsel loose in the house, he will find it. best thing I ever did, and I encurage everyone to donate to these guys. they need the help and they sure deserve it.

I have a problem with a neighbor leaving her dogs out front. Not leashed in a circled baby gate. Dogs jump it. I talked to Blanchester PD which stated to call Animal Control. Left a message. Then left another the next day. Called several times yet noone answers. Poor management

Rude old lady who looks like Cruella DeVil turned us away after driving all the away way from Cincinnati saying we need an appointment... to go to a humane society. Seems like a "secret" puppy prison.
