They keep tegus in 75 gallon tanks. I shouldn't need to explain my 1-star any further, as this is incredibly inhumane.I went back for a further look. These cold blooded creatures have no heat, no uvb. Their tanks are absolutely filthy and filled with gnats/flies flying around.They have other reptiles such as bearded dragons, leopard geckos, and crested geckos with improper heat/uvb. Again, filthy tanks.While we were in there, we overheard the employees joking about dead animals in the store.In no world is this place acceptable. Avoid unless you're here to rescue.

Unique aquarium focused store (they also sell hedgehogs and a few species of reptiles). Super knowledgeable owner.Consistently carries hard to find species (and huge mature ones at that!)Also sells used aquariums and aquarium stands which is unique to this store from my experience. Gives the new aquarist a more financially feasible solution to getting started in the hobby.

Will definitely be going back. Very friendly staff! My only complaint is same as the other reviews. The store is dirty and smells bad. There is stuff everywhere. The fish are labeled incorrectly in their tanks. The workers are all in street clothes so I struggled to find a worker.

I want to say 5/5 but I think the store logo is somewhat misleading. The term "Jurassic" makes me think there'd be more reptiles, and the blue coloring and the font underneath is a bit hard to read. Besides that, it's a great place honestly. Super cool selection of fish and the reptiles that were there looked healthy.

Just walked in here to browse. I have a corn snake and I like looking at new places for new hides for my snake. The reptiles are kept in unclean conditions. I don’t care if the conditions is temporarily. It’s unacceptable. Dirty tanks, bugs inside the enclosure with the animals. It’s disgusting. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

There are so many aquatics! Not just equipment... decorations, fish, frogs, turtles, spiders, etc...Feeder foods..And the prices!C'mon folks, take a stop in!

Great variety of fish! And loved that the gentleman that helped me was knowledgeable about fish! 2 weeks in and they are all a blended family and doing great- I will be going back for a couple more :)

Tanks are filthy and no one acknowledges you from the moment you walk in (bad experience the first time. Gave it another shot and had the same experience) Probably the worst store I've been too.

So excited Jurassic is back! While the new location is not as convenient for me, it is well worth the drive to Willoughby.The store is spacious and has better lighting then the old location. Tanks are still individual, so much healthier than box store group filtration. Still not fancy, but I would rather pay less for health fish versus having a fancier store, paying more with group tanks.I was there two weeks ago. The young man who assisted me was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I was looking at the clown loaches, but they were still in quarantine and we’re not for sale. While I was disappointed, I respect the policy to sell healthy fish. I very excited to see they had very healthy green puffers.I ended up purchasing a green puffer and he is getting bigger and seems right at home in our tank.So glad Jurrassic is back, as we have not purchased fish since they moved from Mayfield Heights. In our opinion, it is not worth the risk getting a sick fish that wipes out the entire tank.

This is my number one aquarium store to go to! I've been looking for a place like this for some time now and I'm glad I finally found it! The fish selection is second to none. They have reptiles too! The tanks are very well maintained and they have a huge variety of fish. They also constantly get new fish so what you don't see here today, you might see tomorrow.

Went to visit and their axolotls are on the verge of morphing into salamanders its horrible one of them had a bacteria infection and their aquariums were disgusting don't take in animals you can't take care of. Axolots are not for all pet stores if you can't manage their needs don't carry them as a pet. When someone comes in to buy one of them not knowing they can morph into salamanders when kept in horrible conditions they are gonna be very disappointed when their aquatic friend turns into a half aquatic half land animal. Absolutely disgusted

The owner Fred is a great guy very helpful. They have a continuous variety of fish amphibians and reptiles. Also has a large selection of quality used equipment especially tanks

One of the best Local fish stores I have ever been to. Fred the owner is very caring for his fish as well as always giving advice for anyone who may need it it helped me decide on a couple fish to put in my 36 gallon tank. I also got a great deal on a 45 gallon tank to expand my hobby I can't wait to cycle it and stock it. I'll definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a fish store he has many different types and he's still settling jt but I can't wait to see when he gets everything together.

Went into the store after driving by and my kid noticing it. We love reptiles and support B and M stores. First think I noticed was a black and white tegu in a tank barely bigger than it is. I turn the corner and there’s a second one. The bearded dragon baby looked like it had MBD already. The crested gecko was fed only insects the owner told me. He didn’t even know what Pangea was. The reptile tanks and fish tanks were filthy. And the owner said he had years of experience. Petsmart tanks are better looking. I will never support this shop. And I urge others to take the negative reviews into consideration. This store is awful.

Honestly all the years of being in and or around this hobby, I somehow never stumbled upon this place! Well,I wish I had much sooner! Great selection of fish fresh water as well as salt! The owner is on site, very knowledgeable and eager to help with any situation you have!Also got to experience his stash of pieces and parts, call it his aquarium junk drawer! Seriously, need any impeller, valve, motor, down tube? Stop up and I bet he has what you need to get it fixed!

They could get the place more organized and clean. Tanks stacked together after having been used and left dirty. Aside from that, staff was super friendly and helpful, and the variety of cichlids and other fish that they had was not limited. Prices are a little high, though.

Terrible place all around. Stay away ! First, the entire store is nasty. From dead and sick fish in just about every tank, to dead fish who seems to have jumped out onto the floor. Looks like he never cleans anything. Just sits there with his Bluetooth in his ear and collects cash.Second the customer service is the worst of anyplace I’ve been. I went in to get a 6 ft stand for my 125 gallon. Fred, the owner helped me and told me that the stand would need to be ordered and that a payment of $400 was needed to do so. It was a Sunday and he said if if he ordered it now it would be there Tuesday or Friday, So I did. I told him I didn’t have a truck so please let me knw when it would be in so I could rent one. Long story short; stand didn’t come Tuesday, stand didn’t come Friday. He had someone call to say it would be there the following Tuesday. Needless to say it didn’t. This time he didn’t call or anything. At that point I just wanted my money back. Called the store to let him knw that I no longer wanted the stand. He told me to “ Go spend your money with the white man.” Never once did he try to accommodate me. If he would have at least offered to deliver the stand once it got there all would have been forgotten.DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE !!

I tried to take care of this with the owner first. I was hung up on, I tried to call back and call was ignored. I got 3 peacock "cichlids". I was just told they were peacocks...had I known,, aI would have held off.I am just learning, really. So I was asking questions, sharing information about what tanks I have. I made a decision despite feeling like I was inconvenienceing him.I made a decision, two smaller "peacocks" and one larger one. He put them a in the same back together. This bag was not big enough for all 3. I made a comment about how they shouldn't be in the bag together, but he tied it up anyway . I heard thrashing in the bag. I was halfway home. I took the fish out and the water was already clouded with scales and one smaller fish had wounds. I then pulled over and asked about the refund policy, not giving me a chance to explain the situation, I was hung up on and then ignored. I'm disgusted. I have pictures, the wounds could actually be hole in the head, I will post pics where I can... DO A BETTER JOB!

If zero stars was an option, that's what this place would get. It is an awful place! The smell hits you full on the second you walk in the door. It reeks of dirty and dead animals. Those poor live animals are not well taken care of. There were dead fish floating in many tanks and the reptiles needed cleaned badly. There were also a couple dead fish on the floor. To add to the depressing vibe, it's dark in there also. My daughter and I were almost in tears at the horrible condition the animals were living in. We almost ran out the door, we couldn't get out of there fast enough! The owner(s) should not be in this business!!!

Used to be a great store that cared for their animals...now they are disgusting. I used to visit their old location prior to moving away from the cleveland area upon moving back i was excites to visit their new location with my husband and 6 yr old son. I was not only disappointed but horrified at the conditions the animals are kept in. It was a sad trip for everyone involved and I will be contacting someone to look into the conditions these animals are kept in as it is cruel and inhumane. Many dead fish, extremely poor reptile husbandry and overall dirty dirty dirty! Please do not support this business as it will only cause harm to more animals

If you're at least my age (40) you remember the days when your parents took you to a pet store where you pick out your first pet that you begged for all year long. You know the one that you promise to take care of, clean its cage, and feed it regularly? This is it throwback to the old school, owner on site, real expert pet store that caters exclusively to folks who keep fish. The owner of this particular store was the manager of the pet store that I went to throughout my childhood. I was thrilled as an adult to learn that he went off on his own and started Jurassic Aquatics. I can't say enough nice things about Fred and his business practices. Don't take it from me, visit the store sometime and see almost every customer who walks in treats him like they're old friends if not family. Do a little business at that store and you'll feel the same way. Anyone who has ever had this experience should at least check out Jurassic and see what you've been missing... You walk into a big box retail pet store and the idiot child who is just old enough to drive him or herself to work asks if they can help you. You asked for anything that is not directly in front of them and they immediately start drooling and call a manager. What should be a two-minute interaction with a sales person in a store turns into a 20 minutes or longer Fiasco to just explain what you're looking for... Because there isn't a chance in hell they've even heard of it. That will never happen at Jurassic, if it involves fish either saltwater or fresh, Fred is your man. By the way, they also offer full-service aquarium maintenance for those of us that are just a little too busy or appreciate the service of an expert to do it themselves. How many big-box retailers offer house calls?

I was checking out some fish stores in the area since I'm not from there, and was appalled. Looking at the reviews there are loyal customers, but something most have happened to the owner that he changed his practices.The levels of ammonia as you walk in the door made it difficult to breathe. The lighting was low and it looked more like a dungeon. The tanks were dirty and there were many dead fish as well as fish feeding on the dead. Big fish and animals were in tanks/cages that were entirely too small to even consider it cruel. We walked out before we finished looking around. I can't imaging anyone staying in business with conditions like that. Very sad.

It was like a sad, dirty fish prison. The guy working was nice though. Personally. Greeted me and asked if I needed help. Came out from behind the counter and showed me some stuff. But, the tanks were all empty, just fish. No sand, gravel, plants (to be fair a few had corral or what not). Nonetheless, I wouldn't be so comfortable buying fish that lived in those conditions.
