This is a good Dollar General. The store is kept in great shape and the truck isnt stored in the isles, waiting all week to get put away. I believe the do a great hob making sure the store is staffed well enough to handle working the truck and running the store. @GreatbJobGuys

I think this store should just close up shop. They are rarely ever open anymore. Even though merchandise is pulled out in the parking lot. The door sign always says they are “temporarily closed” I think they need to learn the definition of temporarily. No idea how they are affording to stay open (even when they are) when they have competition right across the street. May be time for dollar general to close permanently not temporarily.

Don't bother stopping. Go across the street to Family Dollar.IF the store is open, it's completely disheveled and unorganized. It's been months since I've stopped there and they've been open. There are workers there usually sitting outside socializing, but the store isn't open.

Here lately the store's been closed every Tuesday that I've gone there to shop. It's very upsetting to your customers, especially when we take the time to load the coupons for your store to spend on a Tuesday.Most of the reps/cashiers are nice. At this point, that's the only thing that's keeping my business for this location.

This was the first time I've ever been in this Dollar General, and I'm not impressed. It wasn't the items they sell or the condition of the store itself. It was purely because I forgot my card after having picked out my items. It's been a long week and I've been very forgetful. I didn't mean to inconvenience anyone, but the gentleman who checked me out made me feel as if I had. I had to reiterate multiple times that I had forgotten it and once he finally heard me, he grabbed the lufas I had picked out and threw them down on the ground. And proceeded to angrily put everything else down on the ground. The manager was called over to void out the first item he'd scanned and I over heard him muttering I'd forgotten my card. At this point I needed to leave before I caused a scene. I dont ever want to be a Karen, but how I was treated was rude and unprofessional and I don't know if I'll ever come back to this location again.

So yesterday my daughter and grandson went into the Williamsburg Ohio location and stopped in for a minute to pick up Band-Aids. Her son didn't have shoes with him and she is 9 months pregnant. The old lady in that store that works there said your son doesn't have shoes on. My daughter apologizes sincerely and explained her situation and told her son to come to her and the lady there snatches his arm and pulls him into the isle and says, "YOUR NOT GOING ANYWHER" ! my daughter said get your hands off him and let him go! The lady said you need to pick him up! My daughter responds that she couldn't , that she was 9 months pregnant and he was too heavy. The lady responds "SO"!.. My daughter being in her condition did not want a confrontation with this lady so they proceeded to walk out the door with the lady behind them screaming , cussing and yelling at my daughter, my daughter looks back and says "LADY WOULD YOU JUST LEAVE US ALONE"! Just doesn't make sense with this type of customer service. She could have offered to get a cart for my daughter and offer to help put him in there for her. I do plan on contacting corporate. Someone drank the wrong cool aide that day, but she certainly messed with the wrong young lady. By the way my daughter did file a police report against her. You just don't touch other peoples kids and speak to your customers like that.

I wish reviews were based off of kindness from employees because if that was the case I'd give 5 stars with some of the people working here. HOWEVER... there are a couple women who are just rude and hateful, plus the isles are always packed full of stock carts so you can barely walk down any of them, and it takes you 45 minutes to checkout because this location is so understaffed.

Friendly, courteous staff. However, the building is in terrible condition and clearly needs a major remodel. Very cramped aisles and stock piled everywhere can create mobility issues.

I really like Dollar General. Each one I have visited has a slightly different problem. This particular location in Williamsburg, has an a couple of issues. The main issue that causes myself and I'm sure many others grief , is the milk situation. They very rarely have it in stock. I have complained to the staff and management. Their response is, "truck comes on Tuesday." They get it in on Tuesday & it's gone by Thursday. Not sure if it's an ordering issue or that they only get 1 truck and don't have space to back stock. There are several other items that frequently run out, but milk is the main issue there. The other issue is blocking the aisle. It has been months , literally months since I have been in a few of their aisles. They get a truck, put the products on dolly's and block off 2-3 aisle completely. This is a continuous circle. Their household goods & I think their seasonal aisles have been blocked around the clock for over month. Complaints have been made , they basically said tuff with a smile. Now all that out of the way & this is the friendliest, helpful, customer oriented store I think I have ever been to. Honest. They always great you, smile , ask if you need anything, and are always willing to help at any time. Their employees are definitely top notch. So thank you VERY MUCH for that . It truly does mean quite a lot. So I guess a 4 star would be more deserving.

I love the ladies, and the two guys as well! 💁But ashley is my favorite! Always smiling 😀always greeting everyone , always doing what she needs and supposed to be doing...store looks very nice since the new manager and employees🏆👏👏 have taken their new places ...its nice to walk n the door with their smiles/greets plus short conversations . verse the rude😡 hateful ways the old crew would treat all their customers👎....keep up the great work Ladies & Gents!❤

The rows are ALWAYS blocked by boxes and the carts they sit on..I ALWAYS have to move one or two to get diapers for my son. I understand trucks come and they have to have time to get put up but it's every single time I go in there..I hear others complaining about it too while shopping.

Customer service is so bad at this store. Have been in it multiple times and don't review trying to see if it was just a one off. The employees act as if you should feel privileged to be in the store. They don't great you, they don't offer help, the don't thank you, the don't smile. If you are lucky enough to not have to speak with them at least you won't get too much attitude.As for the store, It isn't bad. You can get almost anything you need. It should have been built bigger for all the items they try to squeeze in there, but besides the tight conditions it is good.

I stopped in today and this place just gets worse. Parking lot not plowed and just walking from car to the store was treacherous. I helped an elderly woman to her car since I was afraid she would slip and fall. I asked the girl behind the register why lot wasn't clear and she told me the mgr, called them but they must be busy! If I was the mgr., all employees would've been outside shoveling to make customers safe. The mgr. I've seen there occasionally comes out of office with his long leather coat on and basically does nothing. I wont be a customer there anymore and will be a customer across the street at family dollar store from now on!

Prices are low to average, but easy way to save money. Cashier was friendly. I shop here often for pet supplies, cleaning supplies, health and beauty, OTC medication and laundry supplies. And my favorites scented candles and air freshener 😊

The clerks and friendly and helpful and never make you feel rushed. On the other hand, you can take all the time you like shopping but you're probably going to spend ten minutes in line waiting to check out during peek hours.

Very unorganized. Long lines because they refuse to run more than one register. Always skids of products that need to be shelved sitting in the walkways. Workers who openly complain about their jobs and act as if they hate being there. Cashiers who gossip about customers is very unprofessional. I guess this is what you expect at a Dollar General. The location in Afton is just as bad so no need for another review.

dollar general has no respect for their employees. they intentionally harass them to the point that they quit on them instead of having to terminate them and pay them unemployment. they also pay them slaves wages and give them a maximum of 15 hours per week. no health insurance for part timers. retaliation at the fullest if u speak up about issues with management,etc.

This dollar store is very clean and the folks that work there are very nice. The only issue is that at the first of the month things like milk and eggs are wiped out. So go a couple of days later for that stuff.

We're here a few times aweek...great if you need to grab something in a pinch and a very convenient add to our neighborhood....would of gave 5stars but the seasonal isle is always blocked off with stock

Cheaper then Wal-Mart,family dollar great selection great location I shop here 2-3 times a week milk is cheaper here then Wal-Mart pop is usually less expensive most of the DG brand products are my first selection based on quality and value I purchase all my soda here for Dewgeneral reward points I also like the eggs, wheat bread,Milk ,ice cream my kids buy a lot female products lipstick,gloss,make-up,make remover wipes

Went there after midnight to rent a Redbox movie and there was a truck driver waiting in the lot to make a morning delivery. The truck driver took it upon himself to call the police for suspicious activity on his property. I informed him that it was not his property and there was not any suspicious activity and he needed to get back into his truck and mind his own personal business. The police seemed to agree.

It's $ General. You've seen 1, you've seen them all. Watch pricing as you can often get things cheaper on sale elsewhere. Check for stake dates and place of manufacture on food & medications. Some are made in China or elsewhere where there is little if any quality control or standardization.

Always cluttered with merchandise/new freight in the aisles... Have to move carts out of way to get what you need... lines always long... Never go there if you're in a hurry.. it's not a quick run in and out place...be prepared to wait depending on time of day..

Kind of mad today, picked something up from an end cap that was supposed to be 20% off..it was a LEGO item..rang up regular price. Cashier said it was because it said Lego City instead of whatever the sale sign said...well, there were all kinds of Lego City items on that shelf... why???If they are not on sale as well, do not put them with advertised items..now they just lost my business because they did something silly like that. I would much rather sell something as to lose a customer's business all together if I were them...I guess that's what I get for thinking 🤔

The people there were friendly kind and very down to earth. The prices on merchandise was extremely affordable. One of my favorite places to shop.
