Great store with something for everyone. I'm in town on a grain silo project. They conveniently had the tools and hardware that I needed. It's a larger ace with some of everything. Well organized. Clean. Friendly. I get in and out with what I need. You might want to spend more time to appreciate everything. You'll find something you want and need. Happy shopping

Highly Recommended Ace Hardware in Wauseon, great staff and service and has everything you need to meet your hardware needs along with a lot of other great stuff you might not think a hardware store would have! 04/05/23 update- still a great hardware with great staff! 11/23/23 Still like Ace all though I was a little disappointed on the selection of air hammers and accessories. But overall Still very happy with Ace Hardware.

Always (or sometimes) a great place to get the quick parts. Used online purchasing with app, and everything was supposed to be available in the store for pickup, but when I went to pick the items up, the main item all of a sudden was not available. Also, I missed that one of the other items I ordered was not correct. I am very disappointed with that experience. Also, either the vendor or purchasing buys outdated leviton smart switches and sells them at inflated prices. And versions for some switches do not seamlessly work together. Leviton does not make old versions switches, so why does Ace keep selling them and taking advantage of the customer?

Bad place to work. Management is constantly talking behind each other's backs and nobody likes the owners. Employees will basically hide from them.Pay is also laughable. I was hired at $13 an hour and was made a manager a few months later. Before taking the position I was promised a raise that never came. At review time I got 50¢; not enough to offset inflation. When I asked for a raise I was fired 3 days later for bad customer service and talking to my coworkers. All of the incidents cited came from the owners, which may be why nobody likes them.Teens? Look for summer work elsewhere. You'll be lucky if you make state minimum. Trust me when I say that they can afford to pay you a lot more, but have chosen not to.

This place is fantastic. Really haven’t been to an ace like this, Gigantic in square footage and the amount of items on display is just outstanding. Plus I had to ask for help and no one rolled their eyes at me.

Customer Service is Top Notch. I circled the store a few times looking for several different items and ultimately asked for help to find a few. (Everything is labled great and pretty easy to find, I was just seeking oddly specific items). So glad that I did. It saved me a ton of time and the staff was really friendly and named the isle of the top of her head! I left a star off because, although I appriciate the selection, bagging the hardware and labeling each piece with the Item No., qty, and price per each, was time consuming and bit more difficult than expected. Overall - great experience. Kudos to the knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Would recommend for sure!Update: Added a star because of the quick reaponse of Ace to my review. Also, because the hardware picking process meets small town expectations with above average selection. Thank you!

Friendly, helpful. Usually find what we need there. They could not help with making a new key for a car, but it's also one of those odd keys that pop up out of the remote. Clean and large selection. Awesome sports section!

Ace is normally very friendly and helpful, but today was not the case. I went to get a propane tank refilled and I was completely ignored. I asked an employee twice and waited 10 minutes but no one ever came to do the refill. I guess Ace isn't the helpful place after all!Update 7/9/2020: I decided to stop by again to see if I could get my propane refilled or if I would be ignored again. I'm happy to say that I was in and out in about 5 minutes. A much better experience than last time!

I work for a plumbing company, and we come in here often to get things we don't have on our truck. I have only had one or two times were they didn't have what I needed. The prices are not as good as Menards. But they are not overly expensive either. The free popcorn is a nice add bonus and the staff is friendly and greets you Everytime to work in.

So my husband works for a testing lab amd buy DeWalt tools from the local store. When went in to price items and the came across an end cap with similar items. It just so happened that the items we just had priced by an employee were sat there also?? Were they sat there because of the lack of effort to return them to the locked cabinets where we got them from or was there a sale he was unaware of?? Either way the employee sat the items in the wrong self which was marked for another item as it appeared. Which was $40.00 cheaper, when I went to check out and explained this the owner said how do we know you didn't do it? Refusing to look at my pictures and the receipt that tje employee even gave me for price checking that same item he left on an incorrect pricing self. I didn't try to take all of them which he had set 3 of the same items in the wrong location just the one. Well #Dewalt I will never by your product from that location again. Will not recommend this for any small businesses.

The staff is ok the only thing I would say is wrong is the prices are high like very high. Same stuff at walmart or dollar general for ten twenty dollars more. Why not just shop at a store with reasonable prices. Feels like they raised them recently. Taking advantage of the crisis is all they are doing. For example a yard rake at walmart is between $7 and $25 this place has the same type of rake for $50. Everything else is the same. HIGH PRICES. Calling you is not going to change anything.

Bad experience with an employee. Employee was rude in an exchange about shoes. I was about to try on a pair of shoes and an employee passing by said that I couldn't try on the shoes. So I asked if I could return them if they didn't fit, he said no. I said if you go to a shoe store, you see if they fit. And he said "We're not a shoe store, we're a hardware store". I was humiliated because there were other customers who saw the exchange and a customer said that was rude of the employee to say that. I did talk to a manager, he rectified the situation, also noted that there were no signs that we couldn't try on shoes. In the end signs were put up, however, it doesn't dismiss the humiliation I felt at your store. And there's NO scientific evidence that you can catch covid 19 through your feet. Which the manager stated that with covid going around, they were not allowing shoes to be tried on.

This Ace Hardware is fully stocked and continually surprises me with the items that they have. Of course, they carry your standard electrical, plumbing, fasteners, tools, lawn and garden, and paint sections. They also have a small sampling of automotive supplies, home cleaning/disinfecting, toys, kitchen/bath, outdoor equipment & supplies. They also carry a great selection of grills and accessories. In addition to stocking merchandise for boy/girl scouts they carry an assortment of athletic shoes and gear, and also a selection of firearms in their "Sportsplace." You can also find school merch for all our local schools. Don't forget to grab a bag of popcorn on your way out!

The store layout made it easy to locate the part I was looking for. If you have an issue finding something, there is assistance. I had to wait a while for propane a while back. I found it inconvenient.

Say all you want about big box hardware stores, nothing beats ace for being helpful. I recently bought a Webber Spirit Grill and wanted a rotisserie for it, I bought one but the motor did not work. Took it back and all the motors of the type of rotisserie did not work. I was told to come back today and meet with the grill guy Doyle. Prior to meeting with him took the motor part and discovered it had a broken gear and that the grease was a little dry. Spun the motor and it started right up. Now today I go and meet with Doyle who is a great gentleman with lots of experience in hardware as he has worked hardware for more the 40 yrs. as he is 80 yrs old. I explained to him the problem and we went and got another motor and this did not work either. But, we took it apart and gave it a spin and it started right up, Problem solved and I met a great gentleman. We talked hardware for a while, while we fixed the motor and he knows a great deal about the business. So if you need help, go see the helpful hardware man Doyle!

Bought a craftsman push mower on friday 6/28 used it that day no issues. Went to use is 2 days later and its not running right. Shooting oil, and thick white smoke. Ace said they wouldnt take it back, i need to call craftsman.After getting the run around from craftsman ace called and said to bring the mower in, and theyd get it to a shop to be repaired. Well unfortunately this time of year most shops are pretty backed up. So after a couple weeks i talked to ace and explained that i need a mower, i had been renting one when needed to get by. They refunded my purchase and apologized. In reality they went out of their way to help. They didnt have to do anything at all. Let alone offer to get it repaired and deal with craftsman. I appreciate the effort, and even through all the phone calls they remained completely professional. Will definately shop there again.

This is the largest hardware store (Non-Box type) I have been to. It is really impressive in size, slection, & price. Nice people too!
