I love this Giant Eagle location especially there butcher Department they are always very friendly and eager to help and the meats they carry are very good . The customer service is great and it's always a pleasant experience with the checkout attendants. The store is clean and well-organized and I love their organic produce section.

As I do not drive, I specifically bought my house so that I could be in walking distance to grocery store and that grocery store is the giant eagle in HowlandIn general, I am happy with it, although I prefer places that do a lot more organic produce but the majority of the cashiers are super friendly and polite and greet me with warmth. Every time I come in.

Great selection…. Clean environment…. Employees could be more attentive…. They seem to always be holding conversations amongst themselves and you have to yell or wave for assistance 😁

Edit: 4/14/24. Maggie has waited on me several times since I wrote this review in 7/2023. I don't know what happened, but she is incredibly sweet and nice, and my impression of her is a 180 turn around since my last review. I call it as I see it, good or bad. I wanted to be sure I have her credit now. Thanks Maggie. I like Giant Eagle pharmacy very much. I have several RX that I have filled there, along with getting my COVID and Shringrix shots. The Pharmacist are personable and responsive. One of the clerks, Maggie is a sour puss. She is perfunctory at her job, but her attitude suggests she wants to be elsewhere. I came I today 7/22/23 and said Hi how are you? She responded with no smile, "I'm here". As a customer service representative, the proper response is, I'm fine, how are you. It made for a less than pleasant experience .

It's a eye popping grocery, florist, Bakery and liquor store. A bit pricey for those of us watching our budget however if you need one stop shopping this is the place.

It's an Okay store. I feel like it can use some upgrades. Good cheese selection. Not all cashiers are polite, Kayleigh H cashed me out one day, I couldn't understand her because she was talking low while wearing a mask. She proceeded to repeat herself loudly and slowly while flipping her hainds in the air like I didn't understand English. Very rude cashier! Probably just use self check out while your here!

Last time I go for the prepared foods! The girl working the counter, Ja'quinta or something similar to that was the most hateful, rudest and disrespectful employee I've ever encountered at any type of establishment. This girl needs to be behind closed doors working where there is no customer interaction whatsoever! This girl single handedly has pushed us to now shop elsewhere. See ya!

I really dislike this store. They are always out of stuff and close their departments at random times and different times from day to day. And I bought expired meat here multiple times. Everything is INSANELY priced. Which wouldn’t be so bad of it was actually of decent quality. So happy we finally have an alternative to go to instead of being forced to get gross food here. Thank goodness for Meijer!The only reason they didnt get one star is bc the store itself isnt filthy. And the people are OK. Not great. But not usually outwardly rude. Although the buggy boys they employ WILL stalk you and touch you and touch your purse etc.

Nice deli. Good produce. Decent prices on meat. The alcohol department is large and has a good selection. A good deal more selection at the deli than the big supercenter down the road. The pharmacy people are great. They run short a lot.

I love this store. Everyone is friendly, the store is clean, organized and well stocked. There's always such a good selection in the different departments. I just got some pumpernickel bread from the bakery and it's absolutely amazing! Definitely need to check out the brownies in the bakery, they are amazing. It's also become my go to store for cakes. They're simply amazing, done correctly and on time.

I was so upset today I came into your store to pick up a birthday cake for my friend and when I walked in you had an employee at the entrance telling customers that your creditcard machine was down but you could take cash or a check and I was ok with that because I had my checkbook in my purse . I picked up the cake at the bakery went to check out and the cashier said my check was invalid so a woman came over and took me to the courtesy desk she took my driver's license and my giant eagle card ok no problem then she said to me I Can't take your check because I was not signed up to cash checks I was like no I am not I mever had to use a check here before but your employee at your entrance told me you would take cash or check not a word about being signed up to cash checks . Why couldn't you make en exception because your credit card machine was down ehich would have been great customer service ?? But she said NO so I left with out the cake and Now I will definitely be spending my money at Meyers there prices are better and they care about there customers !!!

Store is generally OK I guess. It's just a grocery store. But I had an experience that everyone should know about. I purchased my groceries, and after loading them into my cart, I was stopped by a store employee (right in front of the checkout), who asked me to show my receipt. Kind of annoying and weird (since the giant paper receipt was just printed, and couldn't they see that?), but stores do this, so OK whatever. Like most people, I put my receipt with my food in my cart, so I wasn't able to produce it instantly. Note that I didn't refuse or argue or anything like that. The employee was very angry and aggressive, and gave me no time to locate my receipt. He said "you don't have one" and took my cart (containing all the food I just purchased and personal items) away from me, and began walking away with it. I angrily called him back and he started fighting with me. Within just a few seconds, I was able to produce my receipt. He looked it over (clearly embarrassed) and walked away. Then as I was leaving, he started to follow me (clearly still angry). He asked if I wanted to go where the cameras wouldn't see us, and threatened to assault me. I just said "whatever" and left. While loading the groceries into my car, a man identifying himself as a loss/prevention person for Giant Eagle approached me. (Nothing would lead me to believe he was who he said, other than the other employee standing out in the cold behind him). Again, I was asked for my receipt. I showed it, despite saying that I just did show it to the other employee. He was also very aggressive, and as he left he shouted "There's a new sheriff in town!!". Note that I'm a middle-aged white guy who can stand up for myself. But not everyone can. So be careful if you must go to Giant Eagles in this area.

Had a couple of weird interactions with workers recently. I went to the bakery and waited patiently in line as a worker helped a man with a cake. When he left, I stepped up to the counter, and she walked away. I continued standing there, and she eventually came back near me, and I asked, "Hello, I was wondering if you did layer cakes here at all?" She says yes and then walks away and never comes back... I was trying to place an order. Also, while my husband and I were checking out a cashier, a younger girl laughs all of a sudden and says, "You guys don't have any kids, do you?" Weird... and kind of hurt my feelings bc we have been trying to conceive for years. Don't comment on people's groceries... it was strange and not the first times she's said weird stuff to us. We avoid her now, which is hard when there are only 2 registers to choose from.

Self checkout prices are different then the floor. Either very unorganized or the company trying to get more money out of the customer.Update: been 7 months since I've been here and same exact problem. Products coming up $2 more on their computers instead of the price listed. The manager said it's the people. Looks like they need new people

We ordered the gourmet cupcakes from the bakery. They were delicious and a big hit. Thank you. Also the lady in the flower department was also very helpful. I strongly recommend both of these departments in this store

Absolutely love this facility. Very clean. Staff is well schooled in their departments. Staff will check in the back if item is out of stock .Fantastic variety of meats, and if it is not there the butcher will attempt to comply to your needs.Items are packaged well

Everything was fine until checkout. All lines were busy, then when scanning meat the darn scanner rejected it for invalid weight, subtracts it. Try to scan again, same thing. Evidently the scale in the back for packaging and weighing meat and printing tickets is different from the front checkout scale because the package is full of soaked liquid which causes it to be heavier than first scanned. Seems some sort of adjustment needs to be made somewhere in the scale program at the register so the meat will overide to use the ticket price not weight. Guy said he would work on fixing it. We will see. Time will tell.

I like walking thru to see what they have in they deli bakery area, something for all my families tastes. I do not like how the entrance and exits are set up, but there is not much you can do about that. They prices are a little higher than Walmart, you definitely have to shop the sales.
