Stopped for lunch to try the famous grilled bologna sandwich. Greeted by the very friendly Carrie, who took my order and suggested the fried onion rings on the side. The food came out quickly and was very good. A half inch slice of German bologna, served on a bun with plenty of raw onions and sweet pickles, topped with cheese. The onion rings were very crispy and fresh. The dining area was still busy at 130, with many people enjoying food and drinks. When I finished, I asked Carrie for chocolate pie to go, as I was not able to finish it there. The service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. High fives to the cook and the server, who made it a memorable experience! My only suggestion might be to add Green River Soda to the drink menu, because it would go great with the bologna sandwich! And the price was extremely reasonable! Thank you!

The food is great. Service was fine, with everyone being friendly, however, it was busy when we got there with no direction to guide us. Made things a little awkward. The fried bologna is definitely great, but the fried pickles were fantastic. They serve everything on disposable plates which honestly gives it a homemade feel. G&R Tavern is 100% worth the stop if you find yourself nearby.

WOW... what a great little restaurant 😀 great food 👍 friendly staff. Awesome prices ❤️ My wife and I stopped by on the way to lake Erie. Totally awesome lunch under 20.00. Unreal 🤣...Try the country boy. A loaded cheeseburger with a slice of fried bologna on top and on the bottom. Super good 👍...Also.. they have Bologna salad that was perfect for 4.00 a pound 👍 get some

Wow! When people ask how you can get excited about a bologna sandwich please bring them here! The food is outstanding! The pies are enormous and so delicious too! The fries are fantastic and always hot and fresh! The service is always fast and friendly! This was one of my father's favorite spots and now it's ours! Give it a try! You will be really happy you did! Really worth the drive!

We had the Country Boy...a hamburger with 2 thin pieces of bologna and a slice of cheese...and it was delicious. We like it better than the Bologna and cheese. The curly fries were crispy and hot. And of course the pie was amazing! We tried the peach, chocolate, and peanut butter chocolate. The cream pies are $6 a slice but well worth it....rich, sweet and delicious. Service was top notch. We brought home a pound of the bologna salad and it too is delightful. Well worth the stop.

We drove 2 hours from Akron to try their famous Bologna Burger. My Dad has been talking about trying it since he saw a newspaper article 4 years ago. It is a cute, old school tavern with wood paneling and a small bar. Pretty simple and has a throwback to the 80's feel. We were sat quickly and the server was friendly. The Bologna Burger was bigger than expected and tasted good. Got a pizza for the kids and it was fresh and hot. Also, got some curly fries. Price for a family of 4 was $28 which was a great deal. My daughter and I did use the bathroom before we left and it was not very clean. All and all, it was a cool experience, especially since I had never tried a Bologna Burger before. In honesty though, it isn't a place I'd drive 2 hours to eat at again. I have no regrets though. You should definitely try it at least once.

We were in town for a softball tournament up the road so we stopped in to try the famous fried bologna sandwich today. When the waitress asked how I wanted it, I told her what ever is popular. She brought me the "original" with Jack Cheese, onion and sweet pickles. I had to take off the onion, it was a quarter inch thick full slice. The pickles tasted like homemade sweet pickles, awesome sweetness to offset the salty bologna. I will definitely stop by next time we're in town. Heard the cream pies were awesome too, but apparently they weren't available today.

I know I was moving slow in ordering. I was 1st time through there, and the sign that stated cash only disappointed me immediately. I'm a trucker and was told to stop and get a famous bologna sandwich. After my disappointment, I was and still am stunned over the CRAZY prices. They have pizza and mushrooms, and the food is CHEAP. I was also disappointed that the tea was unsweetened and a small size. But WHOA! I would like to come again and dine in. If this was helpful, please give me a thumbs up. Thanks.

They have the most fantastic bologna sandwiches...very favorable, nice thick cut, and paired with onion, pickles, and cheese on rye bread...yum yum yum. Also had some fried mushrooms, and tea, not to mention a very nice high piece of chocolate peanut butter pie. And the price for all that was a around $12.00. It's every bit worth that amount. It's known for their bologna sandwiches, and they are right. It's very very good.

Waited almost 30 min for our never came, other table got their food who came in way after we ordered. So I finally ask the guy he checked. The serve came out said they lost your ticket what you order again. The guy hide behind the bar as we walked out . Not even sorry or anything wasn’t busy we came after lunch rush. That will be our last time going there. Was our favorite place not anymore very disappointed

A hidden gem with a small town feel for sure! The staff were very friendly and the food was great! We also tried the fried pickle spears, delicious! Others around us had the fries (crinkle cut) and fried mushrooms both looked delicious! We didn't have room for dessert, but will go back for some pie!

We drove 30 minutes to eat there for lunch as several of the locals where we were working recommended the place. I got burger with fried bologna which was ok. The onion rings were some of the best I've ever had, though! The service wasn't great but the server was super young and didn't seem to be into her job. They also only accept cash, so beware. It was a nice little place for lunch but I won't make the 30 minute drive again.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere AND they let our kids sit at the bar! We’ll be back soon for some more fried bologna and onion rings. The best fried bologna and onion rings I’ve ever had, bar-none!Parking: Take the first available parking spot you can find while pulling up to G & R and then walk up. Waldo is a friendly small town.

We made the several hours drive on the recommendation of several people in an Ohio tourism Facebook group. The biggest draw seems to be their cream pies and fried bologna. We were quickly seated, but it must have been a busy day because at one point I overheard a staff member saying they were at capacity. So if you have a large group you might want to let them known in advance. Also there is a sign stating that they are cash only in the entrance. Our order was for dine-in for three people including three entrees, two fries, three pieces of pie, a beer, and a drink it was less than $45, so it was a pretty good value. The pie was a huge portion and was comparable to Amish pies found in other parts of the state. The fried bologna was good and crisp and good with pickles.

Great bologna sandwiches! The best I’ve ever had. And their onion rings are also some of my small time favorite. They also sell amazing pies! I would highly recommend their coconut cream pie. However, we paid $4.50 for a slice of their blackberry pie which was not at all worth the cost.

Great bologna sandwich. Drove 2.5 hours on my 50th birthday to have it. My dad said he wanted to treat me to lunch and I said 2 words..ROAD TRIP! Not a fan of their pies though...tastes like pudding and not homemade. Bologna is great though!

We drove 2 hours to get the famous bologna sandwich. Just a fun "date" for my hubby and me. The sandwich was ok. The atmosphere was nice. Service wasn't that great, but they were busy. There obvious regulars there eating. Hubby and I both ordered the bologna and we got an order of fries and an order of onion rings to share. We also ordered cream pie for dessert. He had peanut butter chocolate, which he liked. I had coconut but it wasn't a meringue pie, but seemed more like vanilla pudding with some coconut stirred in and whipped cream on top. There was a lot of it! I couldn't finish mine. I am also really a sticker for homemade pie crust, so I was a little disappointed with that. We mostly had a really nice visit and recommend that folks stop by.

Excellent! I shared a bologna sandwich with onions, pickles and lettuce with my wife. I also ordered the onion rings and crispy french fries - EVERYTHING was excellent. We also took home a butterscotch pie, unbelievable size! The bologna was probably 1/2 inch thick and the onion rings were huge!Well worth the trip to enjoy the simple food.
