I have been in the salt water hobby for about 4 years now. These guys here is what has kept me in the hobby. If not for there knowledge and care on all things saltwater. I would’ve tore down my tank and stopped. $ are always fare and reasonable. One time they even helped me out on day they were closed . Again incredible place and staff.Thank You,

First time back in 3 years (due to moving and relocating back to the area) and I was super impressed with the store just like I was on day one. All the tanks were clean, healthy corals, active and healthy fish, and tons of dry goods. Highly recommend!

Dan and Ernie are literally the best in this hobby. They won’t sell you some thing you can’t keep in your tank, they won’t sell you unnecessary equipment, and they’re always there for your questions if you have them. The variety of fish and coral is always great since they’re bringing in shipments weekly. I’ve never had one sick fish from them, absolutely fantastic live stock.Additionally, I have ordered a custom tank through them and it turned out absolutely perfect. I can’t speak highly enough about the store, and their amazing quality to this hobby. With how many shops come and go in this area & long they’ve been around, it speaks volumes to who they are.

Dan and the team over at Salty Critter are amazing. These people truly care about their customers and find solutions to any problems we may have. Dan has helped me out personally multiple times from the time when my T5 lights died and he ran up to meet me at his shop when he was CLOSED! To him selling me my 265 reef tank. Giving me the best prices and helping me think of things around setting up such a large tank things I would of never thought about. This also goes to the Staff as well. One of the staff members had a 265 tank and invited me to his house to show me his setup. Giving me great pointers like "I wish I would of put access panels in the front of the wall" Again I cant say enough of the people that work for Salty Critter as well as Dan. Great people and they know what they are talking about! I would highly recommend them. Even if you have to drive a little bit to get to him its worth it. I rather spend an hour driving to see Dan then visit some of the local shops within 30 minutes of me just due to the professionalism and that Dan and team actually Care. There was a little order mix up with an algae scrubber I purchased that ended up working out well for me. Salty Critter offered to make it up and was very courteous. The online buying experience was very pleasant with them and would 10/10 recommend.

Dan and his staff are incredibly helpful. I’m a freshwater hobbiest but I will continue to get all of my supplies here. They truly want to help anybody that comes into the shop. This is a real gem in Vermilion.

Great place to buy salty critters. Selection of corals and fish is the best I've seen in this part of the state. Staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. No high pressure sales. In fact I have seen them recommend people not to buy certain items which means they care about the live stock they sell. I have only bought fish and corals since I am already up and running so I can't comment on their dry goods but from what I see the selection is good

The store has a great selection of equipment, pieces and parts, a nice used selection, fish are always top quality. The staff is really knowledgeable and will not shove useless equipment down your throat. I've had him even steer me away from buying equipment from him because he didn't think it would be beneficial. Love this place can't go wrong shopping and supporting them !

Its a roughly 3 hour drive each way to get here for me, saying that I truly think its worth the drive. Always appreciate a store that has livestock and coral for people in multiple price-points. In the time I was here there was great diversity and some truly stunning pieces. The fish I saw had no visible sickness and did not look thin. Many stores carry sickly looking fish. This place is not one of them from my experience! In the many stores I've visited this would be in the top 5 for me! Hopefully will be able to stop by again in the near future. Also the employee that helped me was genuinely interested in the store.

Was very helpful and friendly. Everything I have ever bought here has always survived with no issues. Even forgot 2 bags and he was very helpful and called me on my way home to let me know i forgot them by using their raffle tickets I just filled out.

I went to a box store and bought my fish, and then had immediate trouble with them. I didn't know the salty critter existed until a friend told me so I called them for help. The guy on the phone was awesome! He helped me even though I didn't buy my fish there, but I will buy them there from now on!

Great store, great people. Very knowledgeable staff, willing to go above and beyond before and after the sale. The store is well stocked with great equipment at great prices, and they arguably have the cleanest tanks and livestock around! I have ordered twice, rock flower nems and a cynarina lps coral. Livestock arrived in great shape both times and is still thriving. Communication was quick and extremely helpful and on top the prices were super competitive. Definitely recommend

Salty Critter is one of those stores that you can go to and always have new stuff to look at. Although I don't make the hour drive often, when I do go they always seem to have new livestock and not the same stuff as other stores, which is refreshing. The store is a decent size and the staff is always helpful. One key thing is their live rock is not full of algae or Aiptasia like some other stores I've seen, so you can always get great rock without any worries.

Nice variety of fish and live plants however the staffs knowledge on specific fish isn't very good. I asked them basic questions and was given the wrong answers. They also house their fish wrong. For example you can not house seahorses in a tank with aggressive fish but they clearly dont have an issue with it.

Drove up from Cleveland Walked in Stood around for about 10 mins Heard a Hello once and literally stood there the entire time w/o so much so much as another glance in my direction... haha Talk about customer service right 👌There's just way too many OTHER places for me to spend my money For you to act like its Not green enough for you...Thanks guys your attitudes matched the store 👎👎👎

Great aquarium store! Huge selection of healthy colorful coral and saltwater fish. Some of the best prices I have ever seen. If you are in to saltwater aquariums this place is worth a drive to check out!
