My review is solely based on breakfast. We stayed at Captain Bell and received a gift certificate for breakfast. It’s a cute and quaint home, loved the atmosphere and we were able to get seated quickly. Service was great and drinks, coffee and food came quick. Coffee was constantly refilled which I truly appreciate that from an avid coffee drinker. Would recommend when in town and looking for a good breakfast.

They have breakfast and lunch as well! I just had their beef veggie soup and it was to die for- a must try. They are also one of the only cats in town with an egg salad sandwich. My sandwich and soup were under $8.

It’s a cute and historic joint. We had perch combo and fries and burger and fries. Fish was a bit dry, but fries were good. Friendly environment and great variety of ice cream.

I didn't have much time so I ordered a breakfast sandwich to go. It was eggs, cheese and sausage on a bagel. It was ok, nothing special. But it was $7.50! Very expensive for what you get. I will return and try their other offerings.

Love the ambiance and they have a good selection of ice cream. Aside from that, my 2 yr son and I were met with two women who seemed nothing short of irritated. After she told my son to keep his hands off the glass, my decision was made to never return. While I understand social etiquette, he’s a 2 yr old boy who doesn’t know any better and was excited about getting a cone. I hope your days get better.

A great place to bring the family. Lots of different choices that taste great. Service was awesome and the employees were very kind and helpful. A local favorite with great access to nearby stores and a fair parking lot. Very well cared for restrooms and the front was also quite clean. Large portions of delicious flavours. Family friendly. Definitely surpassed my expectation. Great place overall!

Granny Joe's was recommended to us by a friend that is from the area. This place is truly a local gem and worth the visit if you are anywhere near Vermillion! Great atmosphere and amazing service, just like you would expect from a locally owned and operated business. Great variety of flavors too!

Food is good and they have a little bit of everything! For a “mom and pop shop” the prices could be a little better. Also, background music would be a nice improvement to not make not totally quiet and improve the vibe.

Our church group went to Vermillion for the ice affair and had several elderly people in our group. One of our members started having problems walking and needed to warm up for a second while we went to get the car to pick him up. The employee working that day got real nasty and told him he couldn't be in there without buying something so he bought a bottle of water. The others in our group who were waiting with him started looking at some give away cook books that were displayed on a table and the same employee started yelling across the room that they couldn't look at them if they weren't paying customers, in a very snotty way. Her action was so uncalled for and actually put a dark cloud over what started out as a nice outing. Any intention of buying ice cream after this treatment was not happening then or ever.

Grannys was a great find. Very quaint and friendly. The food was good and the icecream was excellent. If you want a piece of history stop here.

This is an adorable small town restaurant. Even though amazing, hand dipped ice cream is the main feature, the dining menu is great too! Their perch is the best around. Very great hometown food. Great breakfast, great lunch and great dinner. It's all fresh. The service is the best also. On a beautiful summer day, there may be a small line for ice cream, but it goes quickly because their employees rock! It's a smaller dinning room, and there is outdoor seating in the summer. Well priced. It's our little secret to come here for breakfast off season. Nice photos of "Vermilion of the past" on the walls. Quaint & cute.

Food is good, but the service, not anymore!! We used to love coming on Sundays and enjoy breakfast with the family. Waitress was friendly and nice. Now they have just one lady, Lisa, and she is so, so rude!!! First time we thought, maybe she is overworked, but this is the third time going there and the treatment is the same, terrible!!. I guess we are scratching off this place from our list.

The service was spectacular! The staff treated us like we were family. They were very helpful. I had friends in from out of state. They requested local fish for lunch. I remembered the sign at Granny Joe's. It was one of the best perch dinners I've had. They were very impressed as well. I can't wait to come back again!! Oh yeah.. the ice cream is pretty darn good too!! Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
