I have to take my tiny chihuahua Jazzy to get her nails done and she always gets the best care at Spikes. I took my other little chihuahua Peanut in for a bath for the first time and they also did a great job. They are a 10 star establishment but I can only rate them 5 stars.

Oh my gosh, we LOVE ❤️ Spike's play place! Buddy, our doodle, loves it too. Buddy is a farm dog and gets pretty dirty playing with our goats before it's time for his spa day, Sharon always takes him with a smile! Then when it's time to be picked up, he is clean and handsome again! What would we do with out her! So, if you are looking for a great place to go, give them a call, you won't regret it!!! We take both of our girls here for Doggie Daycare and have also boarded them while on vacations. Our oldest dog struggles with anxiety and the staff has been great and super patient with her. She now transitions well and both our girls are super excited and happy when they go!

My Bentley had his first stay there this week. He is a senior dog and can be moody. No worries needed. They did a great job with him. Bentley got to socialize with the other “guests” and loved it. We will definitely go back to Spikes Play Place when we need to board him again. You can tell they are passionate about what they do.

AVOID THIS PLACEA dog went there for a week. Came back with an entirely different personality, and not for the better.This perfect loving dog that I’ve never once had an issue with came back TERRIFIED.This poor dog is now scared of all humans it sees and now will use the potty in the house instead of outside.They had to abuse my baby. There is literally no other answer to the situation.AVOID THIS PLACE

Sharon is always so friendly and great with all the dogs she has there! We love taking our dogs to her to groom because she does a great job bathing them and trimming their nails. We love going there and so do our dogs!! We highly recommend her services!! 👍☺️

This place is amazing. She is so good with all of the dogs. honestly i don’t know how she does it. the employees are so kind. they make sure your dog doesn’t stay in a kennel all day.

My family came to Van Wert to bury my mother-in-law. While we found a motel that allowed small dogs, we didn’t realize we couldn’t leave him in the room alone until after our arrival. I thought I was going to have to miss the funeral of the woman who had been my second mother for over 50 years. I googled dog boarding in Van Wert, really needing just to leave Trouble for a few hours. I called Spike’s, explained my situation, and they said, “Of course, we’ll take him. That’s what we’re here for.” I asked if I could come and visit the day before I was leaving him, and they graciously said sure. As soon as I walked in, saw the photos of all the dogs that use their facilities, smelled how clean everything was, and met the owners, I knew I had chosen the right place. The next day, when I dropped Trouble off, instead of taking him immediately to a back room or kennel, they let him watch us drive away after reassuring him we’d be back. When I picked him up they told me he had played a bit with the other dogs and then spent a lot of time in the lap of their 10 year old daughter. What a wonderful way to care for someone else’s beloved animal. I also learned they normally don’t do “day care” on Saturdays, but after I explained my dilemma they weren’t going to allow someone who had driven all the way from South Carolina to miss a loved one’s funeral. I cannot recommend Spike’s more highly than saying they treated our Trouble like their own dog. While this is the lengthiest review I’ve ever left for anything, you dog lover’s out there will appreciate how important it is to have lots of information about a facility to care for a member of your family. I take my 4 dogs there about every other month for baths and grooming... As a mother of four little dogs I was worried about all the big ones... Sharon assured me that they will be fine... when I left they definitely wasn't there normal self but when I returned they was back to normal play and nice and clean... Great Job Spikes Play Place and Staff...

This place is behond amazing they really truly care about you amd your animals I have never been to a better pet place then here ❤️ they worked with me with my situation behond what anyone else would of and my xander is loved and cared for I normally don't do these reviews but this place deserves a 10 Star in my opinion any animal I get will always go here

Today was Violets first visit. She loved it !!!!!!! Its nice that she could interact with other dogs instead of being in a cage the whole time. She will definitely be back !!!!!!
