Awesome. Brought my guitar in needing a battery cable replaced. He gave it a whole new harness, new strings and a fresh setup. Price was extremely fair and he had it done the day I brought in. The setup work was awesome. Action is super low and no buzzing. You can't go wrong coming here.

Very cool store! Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. They have a decent selection of Marshall amps and cabs as well as new and used vintage gear.

Great local music shop. Even gave my daughter a birthday gift when we stopped in on her birthday. Staff is very helpful as well. They helped us find some things she needed for her flute that they didn’t carry in store. Also had a repair done through Trojan City. Great work! Thank you!

Great treasure in Troy. They have a good selection of equipment and can probably order or find what you might need. The staff is knowledgable, helpful and friendly. They are honest about what they can repair, do good work, and their prices are reasonable. Their instructors are all talented musicians, skilled instructors, and each has their own style. The young lady behind the counter is always friendly and helpful as well. Great store for a small town. Great to have them here.

Awesome, very well organized store with friendly and incredibly helpful staff (and dogs!) They double checked the fit of case I was buying with a similar vintage guitar, and even though it didn't fit I took a chance and my guitar did! They have an impressive collection of guitars for any genre as well as a whole lot of stuff I don't know how to play! I had drive 40 minutes to get there and will be doing so for all my music needs!

TLDR- get chris as your guitar teacher, store has a cool aestheic, , staff is chill and forgiving, great place for newbies to get into musicFirst impressions: Been going here for over a year and I love it. Day one at the store they were helpful and threw in a gig bag for free. Thats when I bought a guitar for the first time. Chris (employee) also threw in some pics for free, and every little bit helps cause I dont make that much. About 1 year of lessons with chris. First lesson with chris I saw a fallout funko pop on his desk and I instantly knew we would get along lol. I would describe chris as smart and charasmatic. He knows a lot of interesting little details and trivia about artists. Sometimes we get sidetracked during lessons talking about artists and other stuff but I dont mind, I also enjoy just hanginig out. Especailly being someone who has no friends into music.Reasonable employees: I initially thought the store takes the money out for the lessons automatically, It does not. One day chris texts me saying I havent paid for lessons in 8~ months (oops). I start thinking wow I'm effed; what if they charge me late fees? what if they think I was trying to scam them? They also didn't have recorded what days I went to the store so they didn't know exactly how much I owed. They were reasonable and figured out a number which I thought was fair. Bottom line is they dont have any predatory or scammy tactics.GOT A SICK AMP FOR FREE: I also got an $800 amp FOR FREE! Someone bought it and gave it back to the store and said it should be donated to someone who needs it. I was looking to upgrade my cheap 70$ amp and they told me they were giving it to me for free. I though they were joking.

Had a new nut installed here on a '13 Gibson and must say they did a cleaner job then Gibson does installing them in the factory. Ridiculousy clean work!!! Thank you!

Good amount of guitar and amps and excellent sheet music selection. Really nice open area and well organized.Most of the guitars are made in china. (I know it's hard for mom and pops to stock more brands etc in these nutty financial times).I do wish them luck, and the store has a lot of potential. The day I was there the dude at the counter was relishing in indifference.

Went in to get new drum heads put on my entire set. Got them tuned as well. They were great. Didn’t know exactly what I wanted and they guided me in the right direction. Even helped me carry my set to my car! If you live in the area, there is no reason to drive further than necessary. They seem to know what they are doing. They seem to know a little bit about everything instrument wise, but I guarantee you will find someone that’s a pro in exactly what you need help with! Thanks guys!

Great selection, service and staff. Only 4 stars because of stairs. No way I'm lugging gear up and down them. I'm disabled and there is no comfortable way to get inside the store even though my legs work fine and I'm young.

As an employee of Trojan City Music, I suppose I have a little bit of a bias when it comes to my local music store, but I recommend this business honestly and with tremendous pride. I’ve seen this store become a home away from home for me, for friends, and for strangers. This business has been an incredibly warm and constant fixture in my life, and I’m extremely grateful for the family I have found in my co-workers and regular customers. You will be taken care of here. First off, it was upstairs and not easily accessible for someone who has trouble walking. Secondly, we were greeted by a young lady who tried to help us the best she could but often replied with "I'm not sure" when asking a couple questions about adding pins to a guitar for a guitar strap. The other two workers (one was busy working behind a desk) never even spoke or acted like they wanted to help the young lady or wanted our business. This may not be true for every customer, but this sadly was our first AND last time at Trojan City Music.

Yesterday I finally had time to visit the Trojan City Music store, and am glad I made the drive from Dayton.I knew the store was located on the second level from their Facebook posts. I don't have a problem with stairs. I was warmly greeted, and was told that if I could try any guitars..just ask for help getting guitars that are on the highest hangersThe store isn't a Fender or Gibson dealer, but they do carry Tagima guitars.Tagima is a Brazilian guitar manufacturing company based in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, the guitars are awesome, and at a great price.They also carried other well known guitars, Blackstone amps and Nux equipment..also acoustic guitars, strings and such.I highly recommend checking the awesome music out for all your musical needs..

If you're looking for a local music store this is the one to go to. I got my electric guitar repaired here for a really affordable price, and they did an excellent job. They went the extra mile and took really good care of it. The employees are super nice and whatever you are looking to buy. They probably have it in stock. Dont go to guitar center. Support your local business!

Took in a broken beat up fender acoustic that I wasnt sure could be saved. I wish id have taken before and after pictures so everyone could see how beautifully it turned out after John Hendry worked his magic. It sounds fantastic with zero fret buzz. Considering the guitar had the feedstock broken off and was destined for a landfill. The fact that it is playable at all is enough for the five stars. But the attention to details and quality workmanship and smooth finish to the neck is amazing. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you John and I absolutely recommend them. 10 stars.

Needed biased set of power tubes, John helped. Needed help selling an instrument, Trojan helped. Referred friends asking for advanced custom equipment from Columbus, John helped and had it.Awesome place, prices are more than competitive with the corporate yahoo’s that have no clue what they’re working with. Rarely have issue of unique item not being readily available, if it is not they are willing to order from a multitude of resources providing a great price.John and team are true to the love and passion of music. Working with Trojan City, you know you will be treated with the upmost respect and integrity no matter if you are new to music or an advanced performer.

They did a great job setting up my acoustic. The staff is remarkably friendly. The only thing I think could be improved is communication on when services will be done. I wasn’t given a clear date when my guitar would be ready it was just “whenever the guy shows up and finishes it”. If they clean up that part of the customer experience it will be golden!

Had exactly what I wanted and the service was awesome! It's kinda hidden but great atmosphere. They have a huge selection and some beautiful string instruments! Prices are good and it's always fun walking downtown troy!
