Very disgusted with the poor care to their salt water fish. Went there today and found two dead clownfish in a tank, along with one dying. In a completely separate tank there was an already deceased fish being eaten by hermit crabs. Due to the color of these dead fish, you could most definitely tell they had been there for an extended period of time. Not to mention most of their bettas are in very poor shape.

Paris at the aqua life department was awesome. She was so knowledgeable and helped us to set up our first fish tank. Store was clean and employees were nice and friendly.

Petco is a great store and has plenty of options.I often need help to find something or have questions but it's usually hard to find help.Could buzzers in certain areas get help to come?Everyone is short handed but, we still need to find help.

We went to Petco on 2/7/24 at 5:29pm to get a refill of kitty litter an the price of refill was supposed to be $12.99(for refills)and we got charged $14.99(for new).The person who cashed us out was Jeanette and she was extremely rude and disrespectful especially when she was arguing with us about it's not a refill bucket when it was. We mentioned to her before she scanned it that it was a refill but she never listened and said that it's a brand new bucket when it's not. The mark for the bucket shows that it's a refill bucket. We called the store to tell them that we got charged wrong an the worker by the name of Kris answered the phone said they couldn't do anything. We've been there multiple times and they always got the price right or they fixed the price when we say something. This service that we had was absolutely terrible that we called the 1-888 number on the receipt and talked to customer service representative. We haven't heard anything about it yet but something has to be done.

Attempted to get my dog vaccinated last week during their Vetco clinic, but was refused service due to elevated temp (they said it was because my dog was too hyper). They were extremely disorganized and backed up. Waited a long time just to be turned away. Rescheduled the appointment for today and end up getting a notification an hour before the appointment that they canceled all remaining appointments for the evening.

I was there today ! The customer service it is real bad ..One girl did help used a tag machine for my pet ..because I never used it before ..after I was done there was 4 ppl standing at the cashier ..I ask one question about the tags it was in a package I couldn’t open because it was too hard to open I asked for help and one of the ladies grabbed it from my hands so rude ..before I knew what she opened it so fast ..as if I did something wrong ..I ended up throwing the package away me being upset ..the ring that goes to the tags was in there trash after ..I got home .so upset .ppl need to treat ppl better.

Great place for all of your pets needs. My 8yo daughter is a new aquarium owner and all of our questions were answered by any staff members. We will definitely go again in the future

I stopped by hoping to pick up a special betta. Boy, did I!! Nice assortments. Found a BEAUTIFUL King Halmoon (read about & saw pictures of, never saw one in store). He is 3" easy. Very healthy & active. The gal back with the fish was helpful, and kind. They had a very nice assortment of other bettas also. Little dissapointed on the variety of other nano appropriate fish. Clean store. Clean stock tanks

I went there comparing prices for flea meds for my kitty & they were about 10 to 15% higher than my vet's office. There were only a couple of people that I saw working that evening; there may have been more, but no one asked if I was doing ok, finding what I wanted, etc. Their selection is very good though. When I stopped to talk to an employee on my way out she was quite pleasant. All in all it was an ok experience. I'd shop around to see if you might find what they carry a bit less expensive but otherwise it was fine. I'd probably visit them again when I need something for my favorite feline.

The Lady who helped us (I believe her name was Amie according to my receipt) was super nice, helpful, gentle as possible with our new family members, and even helped us save money on our purchase! If I could give negative stars I would. The grooming appointment for my dogs was cancelled three times at the last minute and I had taken off of work each time. When they finally “squeezed” me in they called me two minutes after dropping them off to say that I needed to pick them up because my one dog would not go in the kennel. Funny how it was never an issue before. They just didn’t want to even try and I have to say that Emily that works there is just about the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with and I’m sure my dog sensed that. She acted like they were doing me a favor and I was inconveniencing them, even though they were the ones inconveniencing me with all of the cancellations. Save your time and headache and go elsewhere.

I went to the Petco in Troy Ohio on Tuesday April 4 2023. I have been coming to this store for years. No matter how small my bill is, I always donated to the Petco Foundation, usually $10. This day I spent $167.92, included in that was the $10 donation. When the sale was complete the cashier lined my items on the counter and said thanks and have a nice day. I asked her for a bag to put my items in and she said they were 10 cents apiece. To make sure I'm telling this correctly, she did say something about bags 10 cents when I first put my items on the counter. I thought she was talking about the reusable bags I usually received for free every time I made a $10 donation to the foundation. But I refuse to pay extra for a bag for my stuff I already bought. NO THANK YOU! I always thought the business plan for a business was to get people into your establishment and have them spend, spend and spend. But it seems to me that Petco does not want customers to come in and empty their wallets. I have many of the reusable bags at my house from other times I donated. This was not a planned trip to the store, so I didn't have a bag with me. Fortunately, I had a jacket on, so I stuffed all my products under my jacket. I will no longer be a customer of Petco. I will no longer donate to their foundation. I will no longer recommend them to anyone. R Pets in Piqua will now get all my business. I would have rated them lower than one star, but that was the lowest offered. Thinking about it now, I should have just returned them all right then and got my money back and left the store.
