Adopted my current dog back in March. Everyone has been so nice from the time I first stepped foot in the door to volunteer and ended with my new friend. We occasionally stop back in to visit and donate. This past weekend, they did pictures with Santa. Such a great event!

I volunteer down there it's amazing the animals are great. I recommend this one day they have there she is a pit bull terrier but she's the sweetest thing you'll ever meet. Her adoption fee is only 25 bucks she doesn't bark. However she can't be around small children or other dogs as she doesn't know her own size lol. I would get her but I have small dogs myself so unfortunately I can't. She's 9 years old and she used to be used in a puppy mill. She's fixed and her name is mystic.

We adopted our second dog from here back when I was in college. He is amazing BUT they said he was up to date on all his shots and that ended up being a lie. They were having a sale that day so we literally only paid like $45 for him but we then had to pay hundreds for all his vaccines..The place also reeks horribly of animal urine/feces. Some smell is totally understandable as it is an animal shelter but it is awful and overwhelming.

Love my new family member, however overall it was an extremely difficult and frustrating experience to adopt. In the future, I'll likely look at other rescues and shelters first.

After speaking with this shelter over the last few days then meeting them in person I found that the animals best interest is not there biggest concern and they do not have the experience or knowledge needed when it comes to different types of animals. After filling out the paper work going threw the process meeting there qualifications making the arrangements to go pick the animal up which is 2 hours away showing up then being told things about the animal that should of been stated in the beginning i pointed out concerns about the animals health that should of been addressed and I decided to still take the animal they then say well maybe our vet who doesn't even deal with this type of animal on a regular basis should check into this further I stated that that should of been delt with in the beginning but that I could just let my vet who is qualified with this type of animal look her over they said no we will just do it an call you tomorrow. Their vet called me the next day was extremely rude laughed at my concerns informed me she has road the animal which was not healthy enough to ride and then said we decided we will find someone else to take the animal. My response was so I was qualified but since i showed concerns on what the animal needed now i cant have her because i pointed out how you weren't doing your job which is the actual issue Mind you I have been doing animal rescue for 30 yrs. This was the most horrible shelter I have ever delt with! Then doing my research with local people from the area apparently this shelter is known for being a terrible place. The vet there rode this horse that had an injured leg under weight and week muscles on the back half from being kept in a stables for to long with neglect and they still aren't putting her out to grasses like she needs!

The employees went above and beyond and are so nice. Very honest and know the pets. What a great starter package sent home with toys, food, treats, leash and more. So glad we Drove an hour and a half to find our perfect dog. Thank you.

We adopted a puppy there! They are great and take good care of the loving pets. Please adopt from them! They have some very nice pets there. And they could use any donations you could give also. Very good people operating this!

My boyfriend had called and asked if he could see a puppy during open hours today and they said yes. After a 1.5 hour drive he wasn’t allowed to see any of them because they had just taken in a sick dog. He never received a phone call telling him otherwise before he arrived and was told to just “keep an eye on the website.” Very poor customer service for people going out of their way for a decent shelter.

I am very grateful for the low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats. The staff was very nice. However, my kitty came home soaked in his own urine. It makes me wonder how long he was forced to lay in it after his operation.

Took 2 cats there for their low cost spay and neuter program. They were great that they came to the cars to get the paperwork, cats, and money. Very nice and seemed to really care about the cats. Based on the number of people waiting, my only recommendation is set up drop off times for people every 10 minutes. Would limit the crowding and confusion in the parking lot, I am sure pick up will be the same way. But greatful they offer this program since people like to drop off their cats around our house.

were very rude to me on the phone. I understand their policy about vaccinations but they shouldn't force you to do anything, in order to get one of their animals. very disappointed.

Awesome place to adopt. Not only did they do a great job introducing us to our new pup but a vet tech (I apologize I didn't catch her name" took about an extra 1/2 hour out of her day to vaccinate my other dog because he was too scared at the vet. She was extremely patient and earned his trust before bringing the needle in. Very happy with this place and will recommend to friends looking for pets in the future.

I really love the staff that they have now. You can tell the generally care about the animals and want the best for them. I think they also do great at fundraising and doing the best I can with the funds that they have available.

I was dropping off 3 cats that my family found outside,at our family farm. We found a box to bring them in. Needless to say it was quiet a challenge to get them in it. Once in my vehicle they managed to get out and run a muck inside. At arriving to facility I found the staff to be rude. I stood at the desk awhile which seemed to be for a long time before anyone took care of me. I had brought in one of the nicer cats in with me which got on their floor and walked around. I was rudely scolded for bringing the cat in without a carrier. I explained that we didn't have any carriers at the time of our attempting to round these cats that aren't really mine but thought it would be the right thing to do to find them a home and shelter. They helped attempted to get the other 2 cats from my vehicle which ended with 1 scratching the staff and getting away. A male staff member who was outside and watching what was happening made a rude comment. He said "that's why we bring them in carriers and bring them inside". My point is , not everyone has a carrier. They were outside cats that were rescued by us and in some incidences THERE ARE NO CARRIERS!!!!! He should have kept his comment to his self!!! If you don't know the circumstances , keep your opinion to yourself! I hope the cats get better treatment :(

Both an associate there, and the "Director" are extremely rude and unprofessional. They were yelling on the phone at my mother for no reason whatsoever except for the fact that they are just ignorant. All we are trying to do is find a dog to bring into a loving home but it looks like the workers don't look out for the best interest in the animals here. Also, the couple times I have visited here there has been extremely dirty kennels with the worst odor imaginable, so really someone needs to step in and figure out what to do with this place, as it is doing more harm than good.

The fund raiser was very nice last night. It is always fun to see fellow volunteers. The band was great....very entertaining. Ken and I won the 50/50...$590. We will use the money to neuter the feral cats that I take care of in the woods. I have been taking care of them for a few years providing shelter and food every couple of days. The money will help so much.

Very dissatisfied! My husband and I are interested in adopting a dog and I have stopped twice now to find the place closed. We work 8 - 5 Monday thru Friday, and it is very difficult to find them open. We arrived 15 minutes before closing time on a Saturday, and they had the front doors locked. All we wanted to do was take a quick walk thru to see if there was a mature dog to adopt. We knocked on the front door, there was a staff member who looked up from the front desk and then quickly put her head down to pretend not to see us. I tried to stop again at 11:30 am on a week day, they were closed. Apparently they don't open until noon. There were people in there working so I knocked again. Someone did come to the door, I asked if I could just quickly walk through the dogs and I was told they were cleaning the cages, they don't open until noon, and I could look at their pictures online. I don't think they want to find good homes for dogs.

The staff were incredibly rude to my sister and I. We walked in and the woman said 'what do you want?' Not a hello or a how can I help you. We signed in and walked to the back to see the dogs and we were horrified to see the amount of feces and urine in the cages, and one of the dogs was badly in need of a nail clipping. His nails were curling they were so long. We found a dog that we wanted to look at and we asked for assistance and then she walked around the corner to talk to the woman at the front. We explained that we were looking for our grandfather and she said' we'll then your grandfather needs to come in himself'. Then the two of them ignored our presence until we left. Needless to say I am very upset of not only our treatment but the treatment of the animals.

The only reason they get 1star is because zero isn't an option. My family has been tormented by the neighbors dogs and we have contacted the humane society to look into the conditions they are living in. These dogs have imbed with each so much it isn't even funny, they spend most there days locked in a car because there owner is incapable of confining them due to the large amount of dogs ( last I heard was 15). These dogs have attacked mine twice, on MY PROPERTY, and the owner is not able to cover damages ($5000.00 worth of vet bills). So the humane society took your donations to feed his dogs, fix his dogs, and are going to try to get a fence donated for him. They call me and tell me I need to take my dog our on the other side of my house (which is where he got attacked both times), I need to put up a fence (mind you my dog only goes out on a leash). And tells me my dog instigates it, he's a terrier mix so he must be barky is what she says. I am outraged, I am a good pet owner, I keep my dog in my yard, I can afford to feed the animals I have, but somehow I'm the bad guy and the neighbor gets help and a pat on the back. These dogs have had 10 dog at large citations in less than a year. Are you kidding me! Yourstaff is rude and extremely unprofessional. I am honestly appalled to know that this is how the humane society in my county operates. Your job in to protect animals, but all your doing is promoting cruelty!

Please fix your pets to stop the cycle of so many pets being put to sleep. If you can't keep a pet forever and do right by it forever then don't get one. They Re loyal and loving to bad all people aren't.. But these places are great to help fix your pets.
