A great grocery store with everything you need! Bakery, deli, seafood, produce and frozen foods sections. Also has Piggly Wiggly merchandise for sale! Full service customer service counter. Weekly sales are really good! Store is clean and easy to find what you are looking for. Staff is very friendly, helpful and quick! Prices are reasonable. Great place to do all of your grocery shopping!

They use to have the best white sheet cakes. They were so moist. I ordered one last week and picked it up 1-29-24 for my grandson's birthday. It was dried out as if it had been baked several days before it had been iced. It was still being iced when I arrived to pick it up on Monday. I will not be ordering any more of their cakes. I will be making my own from now on. $26 for a dried out cake is a lot of money. We had to wait on the cake to be finished and then eat dry cake. I am done buying cakes here. They are no longer good quality in my opinion.

Love the convenience of having the supermarket right across the street from where I live. For the most part all of the employees are helpful and friendly. The meat section is usually reasonable as far as pricing goes but the remainder of the items in the store are priced higher than the competitors in the area.

Today was the last bad experience I will have. There's a employee that works there and she seems to be on a power trip, I want too thank her. Because of her I will never shop there again, and I ended up saving money.

Better selection, better prices on most items than Nelsonville Kroger's. Friendly service. If they don't carry it they will see about getting it for you. Also has a real deli.

Pigglys isn't a horrible place to shop, but it is a over priced one. Most every cashier I've gotten, has been friendly.Just recently. I had been at Pigglys. Their meat sales are basically the reason to go there.But there's been so many times, were the area furthest to the right, when walking, by the last freezer section. Has smelled like sewage. It's was so bad one day, I turned around and took off a different direction.I don't know why it smells like sewage. I'm highly doubtful that I am the only one to ever smell that. 🤢Regardless of the price gouging and smellie freezer area. When they have sales. They are good deals.And unfortunately, the staff and employees get a lot of grief over prices.Prices the staff didn't create or market. Just doing their jobs to feed their families, the best they can.Remember to be kind to staff and grocery cashier's or clerks.Employees probably don't love working at Pigglys. It's a paycheck.A paycheck they need. Just like everyone else.I would recommend this store to a friend, the sales are good. Just go strictly for sales. Or you're going to spend a very pretty penny at Piggly wigglys.

Good place to check out. Early spring is a great to shop as they have live plants for garden planting at fantastic prices! Definitely worth checking out!!!

Convenient place to get a few quick things! It is on the more expensive side to buy a lot of groceries unless you hit sales. Great deli and bakery!

Who is responsible for parking lot repairs, and why has it been allowed to become so deplorable?2020: Freezer items aren't the best quality. Some - not all - employees aren't friendly. It wouldn't hurt for the cashiers to actually greet and speak to the customer instead of talking to each other when checking out.2021: Edited to add: somehow the service got worse? It's pretty bad that someone with an Office Manager name tag would rather continue a conversation with another employee (non-work related) than to say Hello and thank the customer for coming in.2022: Worst customer service 3 years in a row - now with even more overly inflated prices! Based on the owner's lack of concern in addressing these issues, I have stopped doing any major shopping at this store and will only stop once a month (if necessary).I wish I remembered the name of one evening check-out employee (a girl, maybe early 20's, usually wearing a hat with a long ponytail) who truly has excellent customer service! She is very personable, polite, and engaging with the customers! She deserves very high praise!

Too expensive like every grocery in the area. Even gasoline is 20-30 cents higher anywhere near Athens. It's like every local business owner is trying to exploit their neighbors instead of helping get thru hard times. With neighbors like this; who needs enemies??? Extremely high priced. Employees need trained. There rude, talking too other employees as customer is checking out. Not helpful at all. They never give correct answer of where item is. Parking lot dirty an well as Store frontage.

Locally owned Mom and Pops grocery store,good variety but a little pricey. Only choice for the locals though so shop for sale prices. Fresh products and high in quality.Great air conditioning! Carries Faygo Cotton Candy Pop for fans. It's very hard to find and it's only$.99! Worth the trip for that!

Horrible. I have tried to like this store. Everytime I go in I find something moldy, old and expiration dates not on products. Overpriced too. I wish this grocery store was better because I would shop there often.

The place has a weird smell to it, it never looks as clean as it should, the produce is usually always old looking, and the prices are ridiculously high.

It's okay place the shop, it's too expensive in some ways and pricing good in other ways. Honestly the biggest complaint I would have to say is the staff isn't exactly the nicest save two. And one of them works in the deli she is the sweetest person I know! However, I wish I could say the same for many of the others have a very bad attitude and clearly are rude to some and not others.

I couldn’t be happier to delete my old review (2 stars) and post this new one. This used to be a very gross and dirty store, they have been acquired by a new owner and they really seem to have turned things around. Everything is clean, the fridges all work now, the carts and baskets aren’t covered in grime anymore. I was so surprised! It felt like coming into an entirely different store. I normally avoid shopping here but that will definitely change after the experience I had today. Great job turning things around!

Some of the staff members are wonderful. I love that I can get some meat for cheap (5 for $20 steaks. Heck yeah!) However the prices on just about everything else is/are really unnecessary. Saw average sized boxes of generic pasta for about $3, whereas everywhere else sells generic pastas 10/$10. Generic ravioli and other canned pastas are a bit overpriced too. Otherwise, I love visiting the place!

Prices are it of right for ANY AND ALL HEALTHY ITEMS. Fruit- you can further abbot it if you aren't willing to spend upwards of $20! 'Fresh' vegetables is a joke because their produce section contains very few FRESH items. U pay top dollar for a sad selection of beaten and bruised products.

The crew in every department is always kind, courteous and helpful. Some of the prices are high but if you catch the sales and discount bins you can get some pretty awesome deals. I have been shopping here virtually every day for over 10 years. One of my biggest issues is the checking the ID policy to purchase alcoholic beverages. I am a little irritated that company policy won't allow the cashier sell me wine if I forget my ID on a rare occasion. Please remember, this is a person who slls me wine and other alcoholic items at least twice a week. Additionally, I buy plenty of groceries throughout the year. I mean really, if they need a copy of my ID on file they can have it. To make a regular shopper walk out to the car to get the same ID that I've shown at least 1000 times is simply bad customer service. I feel for the cashiers who have to be yelled at constantly - by patrons who are not as nice as me - for this ridiculous policy. Perhaps someone at "The Main Office" will reconsider.

The quality of the (fresh) food - Meat is not the greatest alot of the time! The Price's on the other hand are quite reasonable for alot of things & some items - deal's in the store are a steal & a great deal when it comes to pricing & even quantity!

Minimal selection and it has a funny smell where it a very old building. The prices are higher since it’s not a big box store. Jen or Jennifer the cashier is not the friendliest. The meat/dairy guy did help me find an item so that was nice. Over all I probably won’t be back unless it’s very convenient and I am in a hurry.
