Took my family here three weeks ago. This is a great little grocery store. We were treated very well by the staff. The upstairs is great for dining in if you buy anything at the lunch counter. They have a vintage arcade game and pinball machine you can play. Food was very good simple diner fare and prices were good.

I don't know the specifics of others experiences. I think the family that runs it are very very family like, they know us locals by name, I've only been here in Sugar Grove less than a year. They know us by name, always concerned with our likings for food and service. They are more than welcome to make things right! Somebody said the wood floor is uneven and unsafe. I beg the differ. I recently had foot surgery. Had no problem what so ever walking on it. Yes it might be a Dusty old store but I love it. It's a convenient store. Prices might be above Kroger, Giant Eagle and what not, but what's convenient in terms, you don't have to drive to big city to get minor store needs. Saving gas and time is convenient for most. The pizza is awesome, they serve food for lunch. What's more to ask in a store in the boonies!!!

This place is freaking awesome. It keeps getting better. The owner is hands on with quality and respect for the customers. I think I'm in love with the attention to details.

Super nice owner, great place to stop and feel like you're out of the thick of it. The store is unique and a great pit stop. Loved it.

The store is very very old the floors uneven and the lighting extremely poor. Items on shelves very dusty even some very old. The deli meats and cheese?...ok but plain and prices for the items is very high. Higher than even Krogers,Meijer or even Giant Eagle and they offer a much lesser selection. The "homemade" pizza they brag about is very expensive per slice, priced to make you buy or order a full size (only 6 slices) pizza to save a $1.50-2.00.The sauce is very selfishly applied you cant even taste it..the cheese is very low quality as is the again very selfishly applied cheese and even sti gier applied pepperoni youre lucky to get two pieces of pep. On a slice. Just for curiosity..I squeezed all the fat and grease into a measuring cup from a full size( 6 slices) pizza. The grease and fat accumulated was 6 ounces from that 6 slice pizza from stoneburners. In sugar grove Ohio..YUCK! I tried a shredded chicken sandwich well..you cant generally mess up a shredded chicken sandwich..The sandwich was a SMALL hamburger bun, SMALLER than a kids meal bun at any fast food place. And again a selfish amount of the named item the shredded chicken was only 2 tablespoons of poultry type meat. The meat product didnt even come to the edge of the bread bun. Another disappointment. I ordered two ice cream cones double dip on regular cones. Cost $14 dollars!! And the ice cream was frost burned.Another on a Friday about 530-6pm I picked up chips, buns, pickles, mustard and a dozen eggs..that was it. They charged me $39.67 plus (the exact same items at Kroger cost me $13 dollars and change!)..which somehow even though not allowed to charge tax on food items...they (stoneburners) did anyway. At 7.95%.tax..came to $42.82..not the 6.75% tax (of the State regulated tax for non-food. I realize that $3.15 is not a great deal of money..and i wouldn't have even mentioned it..because i like doing local business and the mom and pop places..but the old woman at the registar even short changed me as well..i had given her $100 bill.., The old woman had given me only $37.00! After charging me $42.82! $100.-$42.82= $57.18!When i pointed this out i was careful because she was elderly and i figured anyone can make a mistake..but the old woman got all hostile and started yelling and then cursing under her breath and told me to leave "her" store. So..i then told her no longer would buy the items and i wanted a full refund...just give me back my $100. Bill and we were done..out of spite...she gave me every small coin and dollar she could keeping my 100 dollar bill in her clothing.I have NOT been back in that place since. I had tried previous and multiple times to give stonburners business trying many things in their store. Its just to rude,to dirty, and to expensive a place for me to tolerate anymore...and i only live across the street! If you do go...wear gloves, check expiration dates, dont buy anything dusty (hence the gloves) and count your change. Never anything above a $20 bill.
