3 or 4 employees in the store whichvisxrate but they put a gentleman who can barely see on the register. Slow 🐌 Long line of customers with folks walking out including me. Poor management decision. At least open another register. Parking lot always trashed with litter. I do shop there for cleaning supplies often but today and other days have walked out due to very slow service at checkout

Complete trash store. No one ever answers the phone there. I called 20+ times in A ROW and still nobody answers! They sold me a gift card and then FORGOT to activate it costing me more in gas than what the card was even worth to go back and tell them to do their jobs right when it should have been right the first time. Terrible service. If zero stars was an option I would have chosen it.

I made my Saturday morning trek to the Steubenville Dollar General store and was pleasantly greeted by Chase and Jeannie as I entered. Chase was handling the register, and Jeannie was stocking shelves. As I had questions about items on my list, Jeannie and Chase were available to help me locate the products; they physically walked me to each instead of pointing me to an aisle. I started using this location as my preferred one because they keep a good stock and premier customer service. The store was clean inside and out. I did not mind the area where stocking was in progress, and a cart full of items to stock in the aisle. This is to be expected for a high-volume store. I commend Jeannie on excellently maintaining her store and training new employees like Chase to be accommodating, friendly, and polite. I would highly recommend this location and these two employees to family and friends.1-14-2023Jeannie took great care of me today during my visit to the Hollywood Boulevard Dollar General Store in Steubenville, Ohio. She had everything in stock on my list. Jeannie assisted me in finding an item I needed; she was friendly and professional. Jeannie checked me out and made sure I received all of the discounts due me. Her store was clean and well-maintained. She always makes sure I am a happy DG customer. I appreciate Jeannie and her employees, who take wonderful care of me whenever I shop here. :)1-21-2023Chase was busily stocking shelves today and took the time to help me find food for my new puppy. He also engaged me in a very interesting conversation, which taught me his high integrity during welding training. Marranda greeted me upon store entry with a smile and hello. She also politely checked me out when I was finished shopping today. She performed her job efficiently and professionally. I recommend this store and these two fine employees to family and friends.11-25-2023. I was highly disappointed today's attempt to shop the Dollar General on Hollywood Boulevard in Steubenville Ohio. I had just been the Lowes and had my list ready to shop DG Steubenville. Upon arrival, I noticed the Frito Lay Truck and another customer waiting. A third customer arrived and starting pulling on the door so hard, I thought she was going to break into the store. At that point, after waiting 20 minutes, I left. The lights were on in the store but no one was to be found. I lowered the score from five-star to three-star for this location. I do not recommend this store to family or friends.12-9-2023 I made two separate purchases at the Steubenville Dollar General store today; the customer service was excellent today, and the employees earned their store a five-star rating again. Chase welcomed me with a smile and eye contact and offered assistance. I found everything on my list with no issues. Upon checkout, Chase helped me by efficiently and professionally executing the transaction, ensuring that I received my $5 off $25 store discount. He put items in the bag to prevent cross-contamination, thanked me for coming by, and wished me a great day. I recommend Chase and the Steubenville Dollar General to family and friends. After loading the car with the first order, I entered the store again, and John welcomed me with a smile and offered help. I easily found everything on my list. At checkout, John efficiently and professionally executed the transaction, ensuring that I received my $5 off $25 from a receipt coupon and other manufacturer discounts. He neatly placed the items in the bag and thanked me for stopping by. John then wished me a wonderful day. I recommend Chase, John, and DG Steubenville to family and friends.

Went to return items which didn't work. No associate to be seen. They have a bottle sitting on counter that says squeeze for assistance. A female clerk finally appeared. Never greeted me,just stared at me. I said, id like to return these. I Didn't have receipt so asked for store credit. (I had been there a few weeks ago to try and do this very same return). A male associate was waking by. She told him u wanted to do return. He asked me if I had a receipt. I said, no. I was here a few weeks ago and you told me you couldn't go it for me as you had no exchange cards to load the refund amount onto. Today he kind of chuckled and said, we still don't have any.Ridiculous. Very very poor customer service from both employees and the store is a disaster!

My boss, Lester from Lester's Lawn Care and Household, Maintenance, went there and the cashier seemed like she didn't want to get too close so she basically threw his cash and coins at him. He said he just let that go. You never know what people are going through.He realized that he needed something else , he got it came to the counter again and she did the same thing again.This behavior makes people go elsewhere to shop.Shame on you. she work Sunday September 25 he experienced this in the morning i call at 1pm and she was still there. i hope this will give management the opportunity to teach Customer Service. thanks for you time.

Staff is very nice but stock on cleaning supplies, wipes, diapers, and paper tissues are not so good. There are always boxes and stock carts all over the place with item's that need but away and they block alot of things but I love the dollar store and staff and will continue to shop there daily 💕 customers service and sales are a rough gig, I'm in it myself so I know how hard it gets !! Keep up the good work 💪💯💕

The people are always nice and of course the prices are great. However, I don't think I've ever been in this store when aisles aren't completely blocked off with carts and trolleys full of merchandise needing to be stocked. I guess it's because it's an older building with too-narrow aisles . I don't know what kind of storage they have in the back but it's obviously not a large enough space. So, if you don't mind leaving your cart at the end of an aisle to wiggle your way past heavy, immovable carts of stock to get where you want to be, it's not a bad place to shop.

The communication at this is terrible. I call to see about getting air in balloons and the man who answered tells me it doesn’t cost anything to have them blown up. Out of no where some woman starts yelling, “yes it does.” As they argue for a minute I wait and then I hear her say, “it’s $2 a ballon.”When I get there, my balloons are blown up but they then tell me I have to pay extra to have string attached????If I go out of my way to call and ask for pricing, be more honest. Train your people. This is a bad case of management and manipulation. If I had went to Kroger’s and had them blown up, I would’ve paid one price and walked out with tied balloons. Instead I came here because it was suppose to be cheaper. I ended up with a lost balloon that flew away the moment I went outside, and confused clerk whose too dependent on his overly controlling and aggressive manager. It’s just such a waste of energy. Provide the whole service and quit trying to trick people out of money. Be more honest. Train your staff. You get paid to do that. It’s a business so at least you could exercise proper business etiquette

This store never puts their truck away. The staff sits around while the aisles are packed with roller carts stacked with overflowing products. You can't even move them bc the whole aisle is full. Impossible to shop. Plus they are rude. Both times I have shopped there the clerk walked away as I walked up to check out???

The old man that works there is rude. Tried to return a item that I asked another employee that worked there if I could since I didn't have receipt and box they said yes just get something of equal value. So I brought it in and he was there I told him what girl said and he laughed at me said what did I want him to do with it then would not return it. I loved this store but I think from now on I'll go to Richmond store. If you call customer service you get a lady that doesn't even speak English.

First let me say I visit here often as I live within 2 blocks of this store. The store is often cluttered with boxes of merchandise blocking isles. Long line of customers due to one register open. Some staff are friendly and helpful; others appear to be having a bad day don't smile or speak. My opinion is they need to enlarge the store as the isles are narrow and it "appears" they are over stocked for the space available.

Cashier was suffering from a cold. Was slovenly. As the cashier rang up my items she wiped her runny nose with her bare hand. I asked please don't wipe your nose and touch my stuff. She got an attitude, used hand sanitizer and immediately wiped her nose again. The manager Tracy came over and asked what the problem was. I explained what happened. Tracy said well the cashier has allergies. I was upset and told her I didn't care and she wasn't a physician. The entire transaction was them being offended and me being grossed out.

Always fast, courteous service. I love Dollar General's variety of Snapple... It puts the big box stores to shame! " Snapple Watermelon Lemonade" (and plenty of water) is great on these humid days.

Great bargains especially in dollar aisle. Offers brand names like Coriciden for colds, cheaper than going CVS, Walgreen's, and Kroger's.These stores are within 2block's from Dollar General. I have go where I get better bargains for my money.

Very good prices , their is no service in the store so it is hard to use coupons on the phone, also the ails are too close together and it is cluttered. Also not everything that should be marked down is, takes sometime and that creates long lines

Not too much of an experience except waisting gas to go there after work. I got off at 9. Google and DG's website it closes @10 pm. I was there at 9:04 PM. Guess whos door was locked. I'm ashamed to own stock in this company now. Do yourself a favor and go to Family Dollar on 7th street instead.

It's was horrible. They aisles were tore up to where you couldn't walk through. I had my grandson with me in a buggy and couldn't get through barely any aisle. Had to go somewhere else to get the stuff I needed. Safety hazard!

The staff that was working tonite were awsome. I got what I needed and got out. But in the interim had a couple of laughs. Fun store. Actually the most fun I have had inSteubenville.

Awful management. The store manager does nothing but sit in the back while her cashiers struggle. I witnessed her check out one person who seemed to be a family member then close her line and let the cashier take care of at least 10 other customers. Unprofessional.

They don't have what i buy when to come in for things and they don't have things put away. Food is put in the freezer but not out of the box so you can't tell what it is. They need to hire more people and its not clean.

Almost everyone here is quite nice and helpful. No idle workers here. Only downside is this location doesn't always have the best selection but it gets the job done for a DG.

This store is cluttered and overcrowded ,not well organized. Three Clerks upfront, but only one register was open. Waited in line for a long time. No one acknowledged the customers and to apologize for the wait . If you are in a hurry do not shop at this Dollar General.

Horrible! I was there on my lunch break to get 4 items...the lady in front of me had a FULL cart with AT LEAST 40 things, and only one register open until she is almost done. And then of course the guy at the back of the line goes to the other register ahead of me! Not a good experience!

Love the dollar store always so close when you just need to stop in and grab a few things instead of running all the way to Walmart but Walmart's good to pop in to either grab what you need and have a wonderful day
