Stopped in for a pleasure visit with the kids. Ended up buying a lovely little hamster and kit. They have a fairly nice variety of small pets. The staff were trying to be friendly but it was clear they were stressed. The woman who helped us was…. Snippy. Kept cutting me off when I spoke. Though she got what we needed. 4 stars for snippiness.

Very clean, most of the animals looked good and healthy. One snake seemed to have some stuck shed and the Betta fish looked a bit sick and didn't have aerators, but at least their small bowls were clean. Ferrets we're very friendly, curious and playful

Great store you can find everything and anything you are looking for your lovely pets the store is extremely clean and the pets are extremely well taken care of highly recommend this store for your pets I got a great bird cage.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Plenty of inventory to choose from. A great selection of feeder insects. You have to stop by just to see the 105 year old tortoise that just walks around the store.

First time stopping in. Kim was very welcoming as I came in. Kristine was super knowledgeable about my geico and also other animals in the store. I didn't feel rushed or lost. I'm usually more lost when it comes to pet stuff. Glad I stopped in. 🤙

I got my Roxxy from this Petland and I love her so much. She is such a beautiful healthy happy rabbit. She makes everyday enjoyable. The staff at this store was very kind and helpful, and the store was nice and clean. My dogs loved the dental chicken treats and the doggie donuts. Thank you petland for my wonderful fur baby.

We came in today and were informed that they no longer carry small or pinhead crickets… Very disappointed because the “medium” ones are often too large for our anole to eat safely. We now have to drive all the way to Barboursville to purchase them for him.The staff here is always wonderful however and they have a good selection so we will continue to come here for other supplies… but please bring back the small sized crickets 😔

We were new to have a pet. We ordered a tank and pump for our kids to have some fish. Petland was very helpful with teaching us what we need to know about the water for fish the amount of fish for our tank size ect. We had a few fish pass away, so I took them back. The lead on duty was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He tested my water, further educated me on the levels and what they mean. I returned two days later, they remembered me and tested the water again. They replaced all the fish that had passed away from the first buy. I would absolutely recommend the south point petland!!!!

Not helpful when I had problems with my ferret. Staff told me they were contacting a manager or owner over the weekend. No one ever called me back. Not helpful. Overpriced and refund policy is a joke. If I have a receipt and my stuff still in box, I should get more than store credit. I will never shop here again.UPDATE: After my review, I was contacted by Petland. They did everything in their power to make it right and work things out for my kids. I appreciated their empathy and respect. The ladies were more than helpful and very accommodating. Thank you for caring and being a company with compassion.

I absolutely love this store. I bought a ball Python there a while back. Every time I go in to get something for it or have questions the employees are very helpful and knowledgeable.

The store was really clean and nice. I wish they had a better fish selection and that the fish they did have were in better shape. The water was very cloudy and the fish were pretty lethargic. I debated buying a Betta, but he didn't look very healthy.

Wanted three rats. Was told they were all male. Well, one of those males just had 13 babies 😔 and the other is pregnant. After doing my research, it's not hard to tell them apart. I took them at their word..ya know, because they're supposed to know! Now, have to spend more money to buy another cage to split the genders. Thanks a lot employees that gave the wrong information.

Two young female workers watched while children tormented the parrots by chasing them around the cage and grabbing them while they screeched in fear. They just laughed and thought it was funny. Maybe hire some people who are knowledgeable and care about the animals, not teens who stand around while the animals have dirty water and get tortured by kids! So disappointed

This is a nice Petland with a helpful staff. I wouldn't say it has a large selection of animals but it's very clean and the animals there seem to be well taken care of. The store turtle is awesome, can't remember it's name but the little guy just works his way around.

I think that the store itself is okay. There was a very nice employee very sweet and helpful her name was Aubrey. However there was another employee by the name of Crystal who was extremely rude and is was very short with me and seemed to have a lot of attitude when you would ask her questions about things. Not to mention she was constantly on her phone during the 20 min I was there. Also I would assume the other lady was a manager and she was also very short and rude with customers. They pretty much acted like it was a bother when you would ask them questions about things and when they would answer the information that they were giving was completely inaccurate. So although I may have to visit again because it's closer to my home then other stores. The only one person who did help me was Aubrey.

Wonderful experience here! The workers didn’t hesitate to flaunt the puppies and show off their animals to us! The cages for the animals were appropriate for their size and needs- 1000% better than petco or something similar to that. The employee’s were kind to misbehaving kids trying to touch animals they shouldn’t- I would have lost my temper. Very good! I’ve heard some people don’t like their prices- but in my opinion it’s better to have proper care and higher pricing than poor care and low pricing. 10/10 would reccomend.

Played with an interact with the animals. The cages were clean. The store was clean. The workers were attentive and asked if I needed anything. The animals all seemed well cared for.
