Small Town Ohio GemWe’ve been here a few times for lunch and dinner and always find something delicious to try. The menu is not extensive but every choice is noteworthy.Very reminiscent of European dining with relaxed pace and meals that feel truly made to order. Savory, perfectly seasoned, healthy portions and do not forget dessert. The house-made pie selection is outstanding and can be enjoyed with a creamy cappuccino.Open for lunch and dinner with patio seating and a well-composed wine list with genuinely hospitable service. Almost hesitate to let the cat out of the bag on this place - it’s like a secret treasure!

What a pleasant surprise! A cozy French café in quaint-town Ohio, fresh and flavorful with great service; yes please, and looking forward to returning. Note the Realtor-speak: cozy = small.

-0 stars if possible... Beware of this place... the guy that works there is a pathological liar and has some issues, clothes were dirty and says he's a manager but he's a waiter and extremely bizarre. They serve pie thats been sitting for what looks and tastes like a week old, the girl in the kitchen is extremely rude and lies as well. Found out from a friend that they take reservations but disregard it if others come in.. they drove a long way after calling in to say they'll be there soon, they were told, "sorry its full, nothing we can do" just very bizarre is all I can say. I feel bad for whoever owns this place, they either have no idea what is going on or they just don't care. Spare yourself, they are very unprofessional and dirty.

Cute little restaurant with great food! The bruschetta was the best I have ever had! Sit outside on the street side patio.

Had dinner with friends here. Nice little restaurant, 5 tables inside. Capable of serving 16 inside, maybe another 10-16 outside. Small simple menu, did not have everything on menu available this evening. Appetizer not bad, presentation of food okay. I don’t like people in my personal space and the two men serving were consistently too close for comfort. One gentleman took the time to describe the cheese appetizer player, but put his hands on or uncomfortably close to the food while describing it. I had the beef tenderloin dish, meat was cut weird, most likely because it was a sirloin steak, not tenderloin. Very tough, mine had gristle on it. Despite being cooked just under medium rare, it was difficult to cut and hard to chew, the texture and flavor of the meat was just wrong, no way this was a tenderloin cut of beef. A medium rare cooked tenderloin is very tender, easy to cut even with a butter knife and very easy to chew. Vegetables very colorful, nice presentation, not steamed long enough, no seasoning except for a huge amount of old freshly ground pepper that had no flavor. Twice baked smashed potato was delicious though. Very slow meal preparation almost an hour to be served main dish, appetizer only took 41 minutes to be served. I was not impressed with the e majority of my experience here. I saw part of a pie on the counter, but was not offered dessert after the server removed our plate. Our plates for both the appetizer and main dish were just taken from us, the server didn’t ask if we were finished or if we wanted to package the remaining food. Prices not horrible, if they actually served the cuts of meat they have on the menu. Not my cup of tea, I don’t see myself returning to this establishment as a personal choice in the future.

The day after my daughter and I returned from Europe, we were sad our trip was over and looking for something to keep the European experience going for another day. I had heard about the Épicerie from a friend. He told me there was a great little French-style restaurant in Somerset that we needed to try. So, we decided to give it a try that day after getting home from Europe. Wow! We were all so impressed. I took my wife and 2 daughters, ages 8 and 17, and we all loved it. This is a quaint place, reminiscent of a European cafe. The staff is very warm, attentive and conversational. Also, you are not rushed which is refreshing. The food is incredible. We all had different dishes and all were excellent. The appetizers, coffees, and wines were all fantastic and complimented the food well. If you’re looking for a little taste of France, Italy, Spain, Belgium- or just Europe in general- right here in rural Ohio, this is your place. We had to drive 30+ minutes to get here from North Newark, but it was worth it and we will be back soon.Kid-friendliness: They made our young daughter feel special and welcomed. Our waiter sat down beside her and talked to her and she loved that.

The place is a nice family owned restaurant. The owners were very kind and make you feel at home. The food was amazing and very authentic. The patrons were also friendly, they could tell we were from out of town and filled us in on all the local retail and places to visit. We definitely will be back!Vegetarian options: Keto plate

We stopped in here last week and took home Ham and Bean soup and Cherry pie for dinner. The soup was awesome(and I am very picky ). Cherry pie was very good! Came back today to retrieve our whole Peach pie we had ordered. We had lunch. The panini's were VERY good. French press coffee -Yum! This has become our new favorite restaurant. Can't wait to go for dinner and a bottle of wine.

Fabulous service and excellent food. You can tell everything is fresh and made in house and with great wine pairings. You can’t go wrong with what you order, but we love the charcuterie boards, navy bean soup, the paninis, and the potato salad. Finish it off with one of their pies and homemade whip cream! A must stop for us when we visit Somerset!

Looked the place up online and it looked good. Google and Facebook profiles both said it was open, so we drove 45 mins on our vacation. Pulled up and there was not one but two signs out front saying “Open”. But they were not open. After scrolling through past posts we found an update stating that their hours were changing but the did not change the business profile hours. We’ll never know if they have good food, very disappointed. Moral of the story, you can’t trust their profile information. If you are thinking of going, be sure to call first and get an answer and confirmation that they will be open.

Unique and varied menu options. The soup was obviously homemade and delicious. Peanut butter pie almost too decadent. Furnishings are cozy and not run of the mill. Looking forward to an al fresco meal next time.

Stopped this evening to get a slice of cherry pie to go. If the rest of the menu is as good as that pie, can’t wait to return. The atmosphere, Rick and staff were amazing.

Having lived on the West Coast for years, there were many fine eateries as one might well imagine. None would compare to Epicerie et les fleurs. You may expect to find a place like this in Napa or Venice Beach but in Somerset, Ohio? Fantastic, yummie, quality, done right, lovely, can't wait to go back, made by hand with care and pride ... just a few words that may describe Epicerie et les fleurs. enjoy ...
