I shop here for convenience and because I know the layout. Was disappointed that they removed the specialty cheese/meat/salad section in front of the deli counter. Prices are not low enough to go there if I can't get what I really like. Staff is friendly and helpful and I've gone there for years but ... Edit. Happy to say they are re-introducing the bakery soon. Good prices on sale items. Best rotisserie chicken in town (when it doesn't get over cooked.

The steaks and deli meat are the best, produce is usually ok, but anything else I get elsewhere for equal or better quality at half the price...and I'm not even a very frugal person. That's just me, though...you do you!?!

Decent store and the employees seem to do a good job and are friendly for the most part.Only one that seems stressed and not very talkative is the older woman in the deli department. We've tried several times to be nice and striking a friendly conversation but she just doesn't seem to want it. She does her job well but doesn't seem very friendly.

Two employees in deli lied to Tom the store manager, I've been a loyal customer for 29 years and was asked to leave store and not return, wouldn't hear a word of my defense, this manager was transferred from the Lisbon sparkle store which was closed for exactly the same synario, the customer is never right, covet employees i.e. diminish revenue, store closes, am I missing something? I wouldn't return there if they were giving the groceries away for free. I will ask all my family and friends to never patronize sparkle markets. Vince you gave him the job 👍 and kept him around after Lisbon wwyt?👎

Mid-sized grocery store with prices a little above average, but not high-priced like convenience stores. I believe the bakery department has been closed down, but it does have a small deli offering hot and cold foods. Handicap parking, and one mobility scooter available.

Really good sandwich spread. Prices aren't bad, store is clean. Very excited because they have frozen breaded chicken wings, and every other store is always out of Minute Maid orange juice in small bottles!

The prices are kind of high for some of their and you can usually find it cheaper other places but it is clean and quiet. It's not as chaotic as some of the other bigger grocery stores which is nice it makes it easier to get in get what you want and get out. There is never much of a line at the check out. All of the employees I've dealt with have been super friendly

Go to use the lottery machine 99% of the time. When I have shopped I find that the bread is not so fresh. I always look at the date on what I buy (everyone should). I feel like they mark up their prices because it's a low income area and they get away with it. I was a kid when it was AMP and lived in that area for a good amount of time growing up. It's sad they use low income families to make a buck. Most of the workers aren't friendly as well.

Update: If you are looking for Bakery items please visit the Columbiana location as the Salem location has closed it's bakery.Staff and cashiers are always friendly and helpful. Can almost always find what I need/want that I can't get at other stores.

It's convenient if your needing something quick but the prices are kind of high. When they have sales happening you really can't beat some of the sale prices though. Especially the cheese prices. I gave it three stars because of the pieces though. Otherwise it's nice for a quick shopping trip as has a good variety of stuff.

VERY SAD INSTEAD OF HIRING A BAKER THEY CLOSED THE BAKERY NO MORE DONUTS CAKES FRESH BAKED BREAD AND BUNS. NOT GOOD AT ALL. THEY FIRST CLOSED THE LEMON TREE NOW BAKERY. WHOEVER IS MAKING THESE DECISIONS SHOULD JUST RETIRE AND STOP. THEY ARE HORRIBLE IDEAS ONLY GOING TO LOSE HUGE BUSINESS!! REOPEN LEMON TREE AND THE BAKERY. SIMPLY HIRE A EXPERIENCED BAKER.

I live near this area, it's a good place to shop at. But stuff is expensive. If you don't have good money management then don't shop there. I also see kids steal from there all the time so not really good management.

Sparkles has a great deli and has all the necessities one would need. Although some stuff is on the more expensive side... It's a great store that has been in this town for many many years. We shop here all the time.

I stopped by for frozen fruit for my morning smoothie... however, I walked out when I saw the same item I buy regularly at Walmart for $1.78 costs $4.29 at Sparkle! It was late and I was tired after work, but I had to drive out to Walmart. Shame on you, Sparkle Market! You are located in the lowest income area of our town and your prices are ridiculous!

Was told " I better have 10 items or less" teller was very rude. There might have been 5 people in the store at the time and none in her check out line. Manager and co-worker were equally rude, definitely scraped the bottom of the barrel to find their employees! Told them to put my items back after they were bagged, all 13 of them, never going back!

I was very disappointed in this store. The only thing I liked was the lady that helped me in the deli, she was an absolute gem. Otherwise the produce was brown and going bad, the Italian bread was stale like it had been sitting there for a couple days already, and when I asked if it could be cut into thick slices like the Columbiana and Austintown stores do, the lady said she couldn't slice it thick, that if she slices it, it'll just be like the other loaves on the shelf (which were super thin). I've heard that this store is the worst out of them all, but it was truly worse than I expected. I don't believe I'll be going back. I'll drive to Columbiana instead. They have a bigger selection and have fresh items in the bakery with ppl who will slice the bread thick, and the cashiers are so friendly.

Manager is an ok guy... not warm and fuzzy and naturally suspicious... BUT that's his job, AND to his credit he is like that with EVERYONE! He doesn't appear to profile... ymmv.The staff, every ONE of them are helpful and friendly..As for high prices... dude really???Have you shopped at Giant Eagle? EVER?The deli foods ARE better than fast food... and over all I have never been disappointed.The bakery though is a gsm.. you will be amazed at the Apple fritters and the multigrain soudough!

Ordered a cake for a birthday party went to pick it up after the bakery was closed. When I got there as instructed I ask head cashier to get it from the cooler and she cant find it then manager comes he cant find it we waste 15 minutes the mgr. Cant find the bakery mgr phone number to call and ask her where it might be. So we head to Giant Eagle got a beautiful cake and a clerk offering to write on it right then with a smile. I no where Im going from now on. I will say when I followed up with Sparkle bakery clerk she apologized said the cake was right where she told head cashier.

For as long as I have been going to Salem in the 6 years I've lived near there, I had no idea a Sparkle even existed. The location could use some exposure but it's a nice sparkle with a decent wine selection. One of the only places I can find a particular brand.
