Good selection, clean store, friendly cashier… I went for a few basics (milk, butter, some frozen items) and the milk, though slightly more expensive than some of the competition, had an expiration date more than two weeks in the future while the other store was 3 days! Also, accepting Apple Pay is hugely appreciated! I highly recommend!

BEWARE WATCH OUT FOR EXPIRED FOODS AS WELL THEY JUST WON'T TAKE IT OFF THE SHELF! SEEN IT WAY TOO MANY TIMES! I can go back the next day or even a week later and the food that is expired is still there trying to be sold! NOT GOOD FOR ANYONE'S HEALTH I have to check dates on everything because I don't want to get sick off expired food. Just recently I had to call corporate because giant eagle wouldn't answer their phone, after multiple attempts! I bought a big bag of Lifesavers in August 2023 I went to open the bag the next day and they were expired in June 2023 how sad is that! Then the lady I talked to asked me what I am planning on doing with the bag of lifesavers, come on really, they need to be asked what would you do? Bread is always close to expiring or already expired which forces us to buy frozen bread so we will have fresh bread! Well 1st off I didn't get the sale for the 2 frozen bags of bread which have a tag for $7.99 and I was charged full price $8.29 this not fair to me or anyone else! Why have signs out if your going to be charged full price! another thing your sale just started yesterday and you were completely out of 80/20 hamburger on sale for $1.79lb I couldn't even purchase any we even asked the meat department stated that there will be some tomorrow well we needed today so we will go else where to purchase our food, plus you had mountain dew 12 packs on sale 4 for $14.00 there wasn't one 12 pack left not even 24 packs this is not fair to anyone for people to come into your store and buy up everything and save none for no one else who needs food for their family! A lot of shelves were empty not acceptable at all. Nothing will ever be done as usual.

Great selection a little high on the prices but mostly quality if you're looking for good meat.We absolutely love Amber in the meat department. We are moving to Canfield and will still go visit because of her service and knowledge.Plus Salem is my Hometown.

Great selection of fresh fruit and veggies. If you're ever looking for something specific you can ask one of the workers and they will talk to the guy in charge of ordering and see if its something they could get in or start to carry in store. VERY HELPFUL EMPLOYEES!

Excellent prices when it comes to their meat specials and quality as well.I recommend getting the Giant Eagle app.Those are a few of the reasons we go there, but mostly because we love Amber in the Meat Department. She's very informative kind and knowledgeable....We travel from out of town mostly because of her the quality of meat and the specials.We need a lot more workers today like her.

Wanted to give a huge shout out for Robin in the deli department!!Robin always is smiling and helpful and so professional.Love seeing her every time I’m in the store .She always takes such great care if my order and always has something positive to say .The only thing I truly miss is her Deviled eggs !!!! I always come here for meat, pop and lunch meat for the sales.... they out of nowhere got rid of the 5 for $25 meat, barely have good deals on pop. Getting more expensive everytime I go there.

I wouldn't recommend this store because of the prices. The prices are much higher than their competition. The store is kept pretty clean though.

Almost everything you could ask for under one roof for food in Salem. I love their bread and bakery items, although the amount of selections has decreased over the years. So sad.Always a busy place with friendly works and take time to help you.

Love going through the drive through pharmacy. You rarely wait more than 15 minutes when there is a long line of cars in front of you. The staff is great and very helpful when you have questions about a new medication you have been prescribed.

If you want quality, shop Giant Eagle. Definitely a five star grocery store. You'll love the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Deli, bakery and fresh meats are the best in town!!

It's a decent store with decent products and halfway decent prices. The cashier was nice enough. Wouldn't shop here every day, as Aldis is the go-to, but you have to get certain things at certain places, so alas, "Gianeagle" it is.

Since becoming a corporate store it has changed. Some things they carried, ie. Welcome mats in floral depot are no more. I haven't seen as many baggers, but perhaps that's due to the time I shop? I've heard the senior discount on Tuesday has been discontinued, but haven't been there on a Tuesday yet. Hope there are no other things I've missed because I loved our Giant Eagle!

I love our neighborhood GE! Its always clean and orderly, the employees are always friendly and helpful, and they always have great produce! I love the new improved advantage card, my daughter loves the cookie card and loves picking a fresh baked cookie or piece of fruit every trip! Their bakery did our wedding cake this past May and not only was it beautiful but tasted AMAZING!!! KUDOS Salem, Ohio Giant Eagle!!!

Good sales prices r high. This is a great place to get fresh cut meat as well. The meat selection here is wonderful and you can have them cut it to any portion that you want. If you want a two inch thick steak they will cut it two inches for you. And honestly you cant beat the prices on fresh cut meat except maybe at a meat locker or some place like that, so if your trying to get fresh cut, high quality meat while your out shopping for a cook out or just to cook for dinner then I definitely recommend coming here.

Change of ownership to corporate America instead of local owners WILL RUIN and already has.... The outlook the communities have on shopping here. They have halted fresh deli items like potato salad.. they no longer support Troyers Trail Bologna.... Which has been carried for decades by them. Another local business not being supported! Also THEY DON'T SUPPORT LOCAL FOOD BANKS anymore. No notice.. just stopped. Garbage business practices. 35 year Giant Eagle shopper. Will not go there again. Good luck.

This Giant Eagle store is unbelievable. It's section of "meals to-go" is outstanding with an enormous variety to choose. The prepared food looks very tasty at excellent prices. This store also has a wide selection of cold craft beers, along with the standards. I wish I had this store in Ashtabula, Ohio.

They have a good quality of meats and fish and lots more. I got my daughter a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting oh it was soo good. She had a happy birthday.
