We got our perfect new baby kitten here. He is perfect. He came from a foster parent and had his shots, dewormed, and microchipped. They take very good care of their animals!!

I have had the PLEASURE of visiting and adopting my little girl from this wonderful Haven. They all absolutely treat and talk and care for these dogs as they were their own family! I feel very lucky to have been chosen to continue to love and care for my girl! THANK YOU. !!!!! Cuddles...(Toto) is home and happy !! 💙🐾 🐶💜

Rescued two lovely cats from there within a year timeframe. Both cats were taken very good care of, and are amazing pets to my family! Beautiful cats! They really train and take excellent care of the pets there while they’re there.

They took wonderful care of my dog while I was unexpectedly in the hospital. They let me and others call to check in on her and gave her lots of 1:1 attention. The agent even brought her home to me the day I got out of the hospital. I am forever grateful to their agency and the amazing staff that took such good care of my dog!

We put in multiple applications 3 months ago no one has called us no one reached out to us. We are ready to adopt a cat. Have been since before Christmas. It seems like the humane society is more interested in being at full capacity so they can beg for donations, than they are for actually finding these animals forever homes. 3 months of waiting for someone to let us get a cat but they are complaining they're at full capacity and need donations...

"Animal protection agency" that is apparently ok with euthanizing perfectly healthy animals. I have a stray cat I am currently trying to find a shelter for and called here to see if they had any space. A woman named Karen answered the phone and after she told me there was no space I said "Ok thank you." She suggested Angel's for Animals and I politely told her that I didn't feel comfortable taking a cat there as they euthanize them even if they are perfectly healthy. Her response was "What else do you expect them to do? They have 400 cats and get 200 more a week?" She then proceeded to rant at me justifying this all because I said I didn't agree with EUTHANIZING HEALTHY CATS.She asked what my solution to the problem was in a condescending manner and then proceeded to condescendingly spout off how Angel's is full and what do I expect them to do if they don't have room. She said "I've seen worse things happen to cats than euthanizing them." In reference to murdering perfectly healthy, loving cats who just want a home. Once I finally was able to speak without being spoken over on her rant I said the solution is quite simple actually. Let people actually adopt the animals in your shelter. Angel's is famously ridiculously hard to adopt from. When I told her I was going to write this google review she said "well I have your number" in a threatening manner. I was floored by this. Truly lives up to her name of "Karen." She got hostile with me when all I said was that I wasn't taking a cat to a shelter that euthanizes perfectly healthy cats. I didn't get any type of rude until she became argumentative with me. Someone like this should NOT be working for a HUMANE society let alone answering their phones. You would think as a "HUMANE society" and "animal PROTECTION agency" they would not be for this practice, however apparently they want you to take strays you have there to die. I got chewed out for simply wanting animals to not needlessly die.

I adopted an old dog last year from the Columbiana County Humane Society. Around 14 years old, boxer/pit mix? that had been kept in a crate with a kerosene heater on top. These great individuals rescued him and put him up for adoption. He is a great dog and loves to take walks in the park. He is still a little bald in places and has a few allergies that we have to deal with but he is a great dog. He’s never met another human or animal that he didn’t like. They named him Abe but I renamed him Simon. He is now a year and a half older and a little lazier but he seems to be enjoying his life here. Thanks to a great group of people that have the animals backs when they need it most.

I was very impressed at the cleanliness of the shelter and the welcoming, knowledgeable staff. The animals were all very well taken care of and happy. There are plenty of wonderful animals there waiting for their forever homes. I encourage you to check it out.

I came to them for help placing kittens and since they didn't have the space with how many they have they helped me with food and litter for them to last a lil while and I'm so thankful for that

I stopped in to make donations. I only met Ashley because the others were busy preparing for 2 events the next day. Ashley was very sweet & seemed to care deeply about the animals there. I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the staff soon.

This shelter is doing good work in trying to find cats and dogs forever homes. There are certainly a majority of cats vs. dogs though so if you are in the market for a feline friend this is the place to go. Certainly better than purchasing one from a pet shop. These places need the support and those animals need homes. Always adopt from a shelter!!

As of October 2019, this facility is under a new board of directors and is no longer the Pawsitive Hope Project. While I can speak to how much the new manager and humane agent, Rick and Craig respectively, care about the well-being of those animals and the animals of the county, I cannot say the same for one (not all) of the new board members.Between repeated disrespectful behavior to both staff and volunteers (past and present, both minors and adults), intentionally misleading government bodies about certain aspects of operation, and blatant lies (such as telling volunteers that the shelter had been closed for two years prior the new board), there is an astounding amount of either willful ignorance or blatant disregard for human decency on one individuals behalf. Please, don't let this dissuade you from coming in and meeting these animals-- they're wonderful, and in desperate need of their furever homes. They're kind, friendly animals that just want a chance to earn a spot in your heart. Don't let some rubbish person ruin that opportunity for you.

I have to give up cats. The humane officer has been outstanding. She's been helping me besides doing her other duties and I appreciate that very much.

Adopted our 3rd Jack Russell from them back in Summer of 2014. We love our little rascal Vovka :). As for place itself, the facility is very clean. Lots of people are out there who pour their soul into running this place. We wish there were more places like it.

They advertise they have a humane officer but I just found out Craig Brinker resigned/left that position. The board members have changed again! This humane society needs shut down, they were this way 20 years ago and nothing has changed. Correction; the name has changed 4-5 times but they are using the same bank account! $$$$
