Recently it has become hard to get a good donut in Ashland, KY. Someone told us about Scent From Heaven Bakery in New Boston, OH, and we took the drive to give them a try. After just one visit I can say with confidence that this bakery has our business from now on. The customer service is top notch, very friendly. We had never been there before so our server took the time to tell us about all the different choices available and even offered a few suggestions for what is really good (HINT - try the cream filled maple and bacon long johns, they’re awesome!). The donuts here are truly fantastic and they have a much greater selection than I’ve found at other places, all of your old favorites, and quite a few new ones as well, some with fruit or cream fillings, and those in choices of icing, powdered sugar, or glazed, just to name a few. They have a light and creamy, fluffy like taste and texture, too, very fresh. It’s worth the drive to get donuts of this quality.

My husband and I had a small elopement and wanted a cake to celebrate. We decided to go with this place because we love their donuts. The cake design was awful. We asked them to put either “The Thornberrys” or “Mr. and Mrs.” They just put “Thornberry.” We also asked for light pink and told them what the cake was for thinking they would add their own touch to it. They used hot pink icing and the writing looked terrible. It was an affordable cake and it tastes alright, but we were very disappointed with the appearance.

I would give them 5 stars, but every time I have gone there to get their croissant donuts, they have been sold out. I get that it's their popular donut, but if you know you're going to sell out before 10 am, then maybe up the production of them some. I honestly won't be back, I have tried the last 6 weeks sometimes twice in a week to get a donut all to be sold out.

There was a time I'd recommend Scent From Heaven to anybody and everybody. Sadly, those days are gone. Stopped in this morning for a mixed dozen and was sorely disappointed with what I was given. The "cream filled" donut I grabbed had no cream at all in it, and the topping was slimy and chewy. The glazed croissant donuts are about half the size they were even 2-3 months ago. All the donuts were packed on top of each other so the icing, glazing, and powder was on everything. Doesn't make much of an impression with your co-workers when this is what Scent From Heaven is making now. Guess I'll be finding a new place for donuts.

GREAT Donuts. Not too sweet and not over glazed. So soft and fresh with creamy icing of great filling. I loved the pumpkin ones. But the glazed are my favorite. And friendly and courteous staff. Keep up the good work.

Stopped to help a customer who had locked their keys in their car.. they had just bought some pastries here. They were very kind and shared the goods. Next time I am stopping for my own pastries.

Great product! I've taken boxes of em to hubby's work for everyone & they're a huge hit!! The box arrives, within a few mins they're all gone. Today I took maybe 20 (croissant/glaze mix) and hubby called 90 seconds later said they were gone😆Took some for son's class today as well. Mrs Rennison Crispie Cream was the best donuts on the planet in the history of ever! But that's no more.. Scent from Heaven- wish we could've found you sooner! You've got a loyal customer with us!All their stuff is good so far.. I do admit, just like everyone else I know who's tried them, my favorite is the croissant donut.I'm sure I'll see you this weekend once again, scent from heaven crew! 😊❤️

Scent from Heaven's Bakery is just that, sent from Heaven! I love going here for my fresh baked goods, their festive holiday donuts are cute and delicious! The service is amazing and the shop has a wonderful small business vibe. They're also reasonably priced with their quality, don't ever change!

This place actually has GREAT desserts. The problem is I have been there 2 times and they were out of what I wanted. It was the maple iced long johns (or eclairs if you're fancy). Both times she told me if that's what I wanted to eat I should get up and be there by 7a.m. or order ahead. Why can't they just make enough that will last longer than one hour after opening?!?

I love their food so much but I hate that they only bake once a day unless you pre-order. I never know when I am going to be in the mood for their goodies. I would be in there every week if they had more donuts made. Not everyone can make it there before 7am.

Walked in this location today, asked if the lady would have any Bavarian cream filled donuts - her answer: No, I’m not making anything else today. What you see is what we have.Nothing was labeled, so I asked what she had. She said, “What… you… see…”I had to tell her that nothing was labeled.After having dealt with this rudeness, I decided not to spend my money here. I told her to have a nice day. She said nothing, turned, and went into the back.I went to Walmart.

I have never tried anything from this bakery that wasn't delicious! My daughter gets their large iced sugar cookies for her birthday every year because she doesn't like cake. I love the croissants, long John's, and strawberry cupcakes. They do icing right!

My daughter and I finally gave the place a try, and I am sure we will be regular customers now. Doughnuts are amazing, the cookies are very good too. The cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful. The prices were much lower than I was expecting. Doughnuts are out of this world!!!! But I already said that. Definitely worth checking it out!

Best local bakery we have. I even eat the lemon donuts. I don't like lemon. I love theirs though. They use the same lemon flavoring that Phoenix pie factory used. My daddy worked there. No lemon flavoring compares, so I don't like it. I was so happy to find them and their lemon donuts. Yes I'm crazy, no I don't care.

Our favorite place to stop on our way the Christian baptist church camp grounds in Wheelersburg, Ohio. We drive over 100 miles round trip to get their glazed croissants and the cream filled chocolate drizzled glazed croissants. Delicious.

They have the best doughnuts in town butthis review is for a cake that we recently ordered. The cake was beautifully decorated however, the cake was dry and overbaked. We had whipped icing which I paid extra for, and then royal icing for the decorations. The whipped icing was the worst I have ever tasted. We ended up throwing away half the cake. So if you want a pretty cake that does not taste good then this is your bakery....but if you want a good delicious cake go someplace else.

I like this place a lot, but this morning I was a little upset. I buy donuts there at least once a week. Sometimes I buy more than that a week. I stopped in today and bought a dozen glazed croissants for work. I found out really quickly they were leftovers from yesterday. She had them right next to the drive up window. They were cold and tuff. It seemed like they put more glazing on them to cover the fact they were ancient. Disappointed for sure...
