I don't leave a review often on anything, but when I do it's always good except for this one. I'm an 18 year old man who works as a home health aid, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday my client rides his electric wheelchair to the store, and I walk next to him, it's a 10 to 15 minute walk from his apartment to store and we go there to buy him alchohal. We go in and do some shopping if anything extras needed and then I carry his drinks to the check out. We've never had problems at self check out with me scanning it, no one has ever bothered us with it because most people recognize my client is handicapped to the point where he's in a wheelchair and has use out of one of his hands but on October 18th 2023 one of the manager I believe, a man in a red vest named Jesse comes over after I scanned the alchohal for him and then says because I scanned it my client couldn't buy it, keep in mind we've never had this problem with any other employee or manager before, anyways I said okay well unscan it and then I'll help him scan it (Probably would have held it while he used the scan gun) Jesse wouldn't allow it, he said he couldn't do it, and that we'd have to come back later because he couldn't buy it now which is ridiculous as I said it's a 15 minute walk in the cold and any number of problems could occur with my client. I wanna say he did say if we would have got him he would have scanned it and then it would have been okay, I probably wouldn't be as angry about this if there was signage that said Customers can't help handicapped customers. He said it's the law, meanwhile after the fact I couldn't find anywhere within the Ohio Alchohal distribution Laws that said an 18 year olf couldn't scan for someone incapable of doing it themselves but I digress. It would have been nice for him to be a little understanding.

One of the managers, Amanda, is by far the worst human being that I have ever come into contact with. Very rude and completely ruined my day. She deserves to be fired. I will never return to this store only because of her.

Always a great place to shop. Now that the renovations are done it's way simpler to get around. The employees are helpful. The only complaint is it would be nice if the employee operated registers were more of a priority than forcing customers to use self check out. I'm sure the employees would agree so they weren't losing jobs to machines.

Kroger management and their employees are great. I live across the bridge and I do my grocery shopping there. If you need anything someone at the self checkout will get someone for you. Or someone is usually standing behind the checkout lines who can help. The pharmacy is great also !

Not super happy with Kroger Right Now as they had advertised "free" flu shots. Oh, they're only free if you "pay" for insurance. What they're really saying is at no "extra expense to you". You just have to buy insurance first.

Keep changing the deals on a gallon and half gallon of milk, and from electronic coupon to normal kroger plus savings. You have lost my business for a lifetime over probably making an extra $3 screwing me on the milk. Back to walmart, where its cheaper anyways.

Kroger app sucks! Can't use app to scan your barcode in at the tank to purchase gas properly. Required to "guesstimate" gas required but, if you're low on your estimate and need more, the app doesn't accommodate that.Plus, you have to then go to the Gas Booth for them to scan your Kroger Plus card on the app, and you then can't use your credit card at the tank. You have to estimate how much gas you need. It's absurd! And if you're paying cash ALWAYS get a receipt, then demand cash back if you've overpaid what you need. Without the receipt, you're dead in the water.The Kroger in Portsmouth needs competition. Treat customers poorly. Also, if I'm going to be required to do someone else's job by using self-checkout after-hours after signing off from my paying job, I'm going to need at least 50% my total grocery bill. I work hard and am tired after my workday. Plus, the parking lot has needed work for years. Each rain customers have to walk through 5" of water to enter the store.

Shelves we're really empty, was out of items I needed... To many workers and product in middle of the aisle. Need to go back to stocking when store is closed. Was a lot better before changed to covid time.

So between me and my place of employment, I spend literally about a thousand dollars a week.This makes the 3rd time I've went in , filled a buggy up, checked it out myself because they never have more then one lane open, and then their machine won't take my card. Not just 1 card,3 separate cards lol. Employee was zero help....same as management. Last time I tried to pay cash since it wouldn't take card and was told I'd have to scan all $300 worth of food again 🤣🤣 . They just lost a good customer , not that they'll notice smh

I'll like the layout, once I get used to it, for the most part clean, the fruit is kept a little longer then the should, they have almost everything I and going there for, restroom OMG don't go there, the staff always helpful.

Clicklist staff are a joke. Extremely rude and don’t even fill half of your order on common items that they are NEVER out of. They also don’t substitute anything. What’s the point of having that option if they aren’t going to do it? I called to get an explanation about why my order said they were out of 15 of my items and the clicklist employee was extremely rude and arrogant. Poor customer service overall.

Recently I’ve been having some troubles with sara Arnold, not only has she assaulted someone but she assaulted them in front of children and has yet to apologize. As a loyal costumer of Kroger I would never think they would allow someone like that to work for them. Very disappointed with the company overall for looking past this.

The manager (Jesse) at customer service is very rude.I was trying to take something back and he treated me like I was lying when I had the card and receipt to show him and even after that he still had an attitude like he was paying me for something out of his pocket lol it kills me and I know this town is a lil messed up but that doesn’t mean it should be taken out on everyone or he just needs told to leave his attitude at home or if he doesn’t like his job then he should look for a different job but that’s just my opinion.

If you aren't there before noon they are out of any items on sale. They lock the one entrance at 8 and then block all of the lanes so you can't get into the store without having to fight to get through the self check out area the wrong way. The restrooms typically smell like sewage as well as a good portion of the freezer section of the store even though they are clean.

Please have the filter changed on the water refill station or please remove it. Brought my water bottles but did not find a date for the last filter change. Was told by customer service they do not think it works but are not Allowed to put an out of order sign up. Water comes out of it like it works but probably dirty water.

It's easy to get through the isles and employees are great and very helpful. The foods that are great for me an my wife. Im 65 an my wife is a special needs person. Witha heart condition. She uses the electric carts for she is handicapped. She likes the store to get the food she needs and there are flowers she loves. And other things to. The store is just great.

Great store with normally nice employee's but you'll certainly see some wild characters in it. I've never had a problem with any of the food and sometimes they have really sweet deals.

Generally quick in and out. Some of the personnel 'cackle amongst one another' while checking out and in isles about shoppers.Good produce and meats; cakes were dry and were much better a few years ago.Prices are high given the region and high unemployment rate amongst Scioto county.Self checkout works really well and great with updates to cellphones.

I purchased a frozen pie that the sale price was $5.95 but was charged the full price of $7.99 on Monday August 10th. I returned to the store on Thursday August 13th and select the same pie and it range up as $7.99and I said it was on sale so the clerk at the self check on her hand held device and it checked $7.99 but when I objected she changed the price to $5.95 and said had to go to the window to correct the previous purchase. No luck there as they refused to refund the difference even if I am a loyal customer.

The man at the register acted like he was somewhere else and didn't take off my coupons I handed him. My water was scanned and wasn't pushed back onto the cart. It fell off in parking lot and busted several bottles. Never ever had problems here in the past. Very disappointed with today.

Nobody answers the phone at the Portsmouth ohio location at 7:40 AM!The rules for buying Bourbon are BULL!if I would like to buy more than one specialty bourbon, I should have that opportunity!These rules stink!Who thinks this dumb stuff up?
