This place is unique, in my experience. You line up to place your order and can watch the fish being prepped for cooking. They give you a number then deliver your food freshly cooked. The fish was Amazing-!! Lightly breaded, perfectly cooked fresh fish. You can eat inside or out on the patio area where you can look at Lake Erie and watch the birds. It's very popular. We came at a good time (2pm) and didn't have to wait long at all. They have more employees here than at most places. A very efficient establishment with a seafaring charm ✨️

We visited Jolly Rogers on a short trip to Port Clinton. We figured, what could be better? Lake Erie was the backyard, and the food was tauted as "Lake Erie's Finest"...not so much.It wasn't horrible, but I really did expect more, and have certainly had better fish. My husband went with the walleye dinner and I chose the perch. It was fun watching the sorting and breading machine through a large glass window as we waited for our order to be taken.The waffle fries were like any you could get anywhere. The fish was good, and obviously fresh, but the batter/fish seasoning was almost non- existent; and the crispness I was looking for was just not there. Also, the food was not very hot when it was brought out. I guess I was looking for crispy, crunchy, hot flavorful perch...All in all, I gave a 4 for my rating, simply because the staff was mostly friendly and helpful. The decor was also very nicely and comfortably rustic coastal. We sat at a table but had to move when we realized it was dirty and needed to be wiped clean. They were busy, but...Also, given everything, I thought $58.69 was a bit much (includes tip) for 2 fish dinners...Also, you know what they say about "location, location, location" -- couldn't have been better.When we return to the area, we will probably not visit Jolly Roger again, since there are other places that seem to be good choices.

We are staying very near here so it was easy. Short line because we arrived about 30 minutes before 8pm closing time.Salmon bowl was really good and perch with onion rings was also very good. Service was great. Waiting in line was really hot.

Truly the best little fish house around! If you are in the mood for fresh perch and walleye then you have found the right place. I also can’t recommend their fried oysters enough.Kid-friendliness: Casual joint and family friendly

Found this family restaurant from a highway billboard. The bisque was hot and full of lobster bits in every spoonful-largest chunks shown. The salmon is the only grilled - neither breaded nor fried - fish on the menu. It was tender and flaky, heavily seasoned with Old Bay. It’s served with a delicate remoulade sauce with a hind of mustard seed. The waffle fries were crispy outside fluffy inside. The peel and eat shrimp were plump and firm. We’ll stop by again next time we’re in the area.Parking: Lake Erie adjacent. Picnic tables adjacent to the lake and the parking.Kid-friendliness: High chairs. Booster chairs. And a kids’ menu.Wheelchair accessibility: The thresholds are flat and easy to roll over.

Great place to get a Lake Erie yellow perch or walleye dinner. Mahi mahi tacos are good. Variety of different seafood items. They have a kids menu with non seafood items.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options to choose from as long as you like and eat fish. They do offer salads and non fish options.Parking: Parking is immediately outside of the restaurants and close to the lake if you want to walk down for pictures and or sunset views.Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu.

This was any amazingly good local restaurant.We ate here 2xs in 2 days on our get away.The fries mushrooms are the best we've ever tried, & the basket was full. It's a share size.Onion rings were crispy too.The 2 fish tacos 🌮 amazingThe perch sandwich 🥪 tasty.Our only not so good was the coleslaw, it was vinegary / pickled?Skip the platter and just order the awesome sides you prefer.But don't miss this experience 😊 & beautiful view of the lake.

Stopped at Jolly Roger’s 🏴‍☠️ on way home from Middle Bass-anytime we are close it’s a must! The Perch and Walleye are the best I’ve tasted and I’m a fish person-my wife isn’t but she looks forward to coming cause the perch has never had that fishy taste, she always gets the perch. Sometimes we get the 1lb of perch to share with a side of onion rings and we are both full when we are done. It could feel on the pricey side as it was $45 for just the two of us today but it’s the right price for the portion size, perch and the great taste. Best fish place on the north coast or any coast for that matter. It’s really fun to watch them make it up in front of you while you are in line-absolutely fabulous! If you haven’t been drop what you are doing and go tonight!Parking: On the weekends it will take a bit to get a spot but Wednesday about 1230 there were several spots-it’s always worth the trouble to park though-it’s just always busy but great foodKid-friendliness: Great kid’s menu with four choices and the perch and walleye are not “fishy” tasting by no means so I’d get em started on that and if they don’t like it then it’s more for dad😀

We had the lobster mac & cheese, calamari, breaded mushrooms, hush puppies and to wash it down a lemon margarita. Freshes seafood I've ever had. That lobster was delicious. I've never had calamari and it was a very pleasant taste. Just like shrimp and there sweet/spicy dipping sauce was so good. Highly recommend. As we sat by the water an eagle landed in a nearby tree. Beautiful outside seating as well. Food was out and delivered to our table in 5 minutes. It wasn't busy at 1pm but by 1:30pm it was almost full. Friendly staff and clean atmosphere. Only setback was it smelled like someones stinky socks. Def could have opened a door to allow some fresh air in.

Full disclosure - first time here, I was a little bit concerned with how long the line was when I first arrived (dinner time on Thursday - line out the door and into the parking lot). Credit to the order staff for handling the line efficiently. Ordered the Walleye Boat, deep fried oysters and peal & eat shrimp. Whilst onion rings were sold out - fries were very good. Hard to find a table inside, so opted for the patio despite 80+ deg temp… Great choice - would not hesitate to return. Impressive bounty from Lake Erie (and other waterways:)).

We came here because the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed (unexpectedly).While it wasn't what we planned for, I found the fish (perch and walleye) to be quite tasty, the fries yummy, and the scallops surprisingly good! (Surprisingly, since they tend to be difficult.)The vibe was a bit different than I expected - fast-food-y, vs. sit-down, but I still quite enjoyed it!My biggest complaint is that everything is fried in canola oil. Biggest thing I liked was sitting with a beautiful view of Lake Erie and the delicious tartar sauce - also, the very wonderful and kind staff!Thanks!

Gotta have the world famous walleye boat...a whole pound of golden fried fresh caught fish from Lake Erie off the shores of Port Clinton..."The Walleye Capital of the World"...and some crisp waffle fries...but you have to get there early if you want onion rings...I arrived at 7pm and the line was in the parking lot and even longer when I left with my carry-out at 730pm. It was worth the wait to have a Jolly Roger's Seafood Dinner!!

Loved the outdoor patio by the water. Lobster rolls were very tasty. Everyone loved the onion rings. The perch dinner was ok. When biting into the perch, oil just poured out that was unappetizing. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Have enjoyed Jolly Rodgers since young..,there new digs are sized right and set up to deliver their wonderful Lake Perch & Walleye along w Shrimp and other goodies. This was our first time here & we were blown away! There was quite the line out the door but it didn't bother us and the lime moved very fast! It is definitely worth the wait! We had the perché, walleye, hush puppies, onion rings, the l'osteria bisque and fries! And WOW It was all so delicious!!! The tartar sauce is very good too! We will definitely be stopping here everytime We visit that area!!! Great price, Great food, Great atmosphere and Great Service!Parking: Lots of spots but this is a busy place so you may have to drive around a few minutes until someone leaves to get a spot.Kid-friendliness: Lots of items to choose from
