Dr. Lenke is a great vet. Always checks Luna over and takes the time to explain any issues and / or answer any questions. Techs always talk to Luna or come out and greet her to help her settle down, usually with a few treats. Would recommend their services to anyone.

Was told that my dog couldn't be brought in to be put to sleep for at least 4 days, after notifying them that he was dying of kidney failure. We had been regular patients with them for 7 years. My dog died at home later that night. This is not what you should get from a caring animal hospital. No compassion at all!!

Really great group at this office. Moved here two years ago and are so happy to have found them! They always understand and help make arrangements when we have an urgent need to make an appointment. Highly recommend!

We established with this Catawba Island Veterinary Hospital when we moved to Marblehead. Today one of my dogs developed a pervious treated condition and they refused to see him as they had no appointments. I establish with a vet so they could take care of my pets in short notice and to compound the lack of compassion we were leaving for Florida for the season. We told them we had invested hundreds of dollars in the travel and they refused to accommodated us. So much for compassion and understanding. Sick dog means nothing to these people! and making an attempt to help us not loose hundreds of dollars was inexcusable.

We recently had to bring our cat Salem in to see the Dr. because he had started coughing and sneezing. He was diagnosed with bronchitis and was given 2 shots. Salem is already feeling much better, acting like his normal self again.

As always, the staff are incredible and I am grateful for them. They got my dog an unexpected appointment in quickly, and we're very helpful. They are following protocols during this pandemic perfectly, keeping staff and customers safe. They always feel like family, and remember who I am and my furry babies. Thank you for being the amazing team you are.

As an out of town visitor with a concern about my dog, they got me in very quickly. I did have to pay an emergency rate but they told me upfront and I was accepting of that. They did feel the blisters in her mouth were caused by an abrasion of unknown origin, I was concerned about her constantly digging at it and a fever and they did take her internal temperature and give me plenty of cleansing wipes to put me at ease. They also followed up with a call 2 days later to see how she was. The rate for everything was reasonable and I would recommend them for any similar services and caring staff.

We spend summers on the peninsula and recently had an injury emergency with one of our dogs, Riley. The staff was wonderful! Very kind and compassionate. Riley was seen immediately and given a very thorough exam. I was informed that someone is on call daily and would be happy to see him after hours if the need arose. He was much better within 48 hours and we were able to enjoy our time at the Lake thanks to the outstanding care at CVH.

If this vet recommends an invasive procedure or an amputation for your pet, get a second opinion!!! If I had gone with Catawba Veterinary, my cat would have three legs now, for no good reason. I’m not sold on Dr. Lenke’s diagnostic capabilities—or his bedside manner, for that matter, considering how nonchalant he was about the whole thing.

Dr. Lenke and everybody have been fantastic! I will admit sometimes I can be a little bit of a crazy cat lady when it comes to my kitty's health. I can be pesky with questions and concerns. Never have any of the wonderful staff there made me feel bad for that. They handle my questions with patience and kindness. But most of all, they are so good with Aria. Watching them with her makes me feel reassured that she is in good hands. They are so friendly and welcoming, I am really lucky to have such a great place right up the road from me.I appreciate all you do at this Veterinary Hospital. Thank you for taking such good care of Aria, and thank you for making sure I didn't drive myself crazy worrying about her! I couldn't have asked for a better team to trust with my "furbaby"!

As a new patient, Molly the Collie was given a next-day appointment. Her needs were addressed in a thoughtful, timely manner. The experience was pleasant for me and my dog. Unlike a nearby clinic where I was hustled by a staff whose eyes lit up with dollar signs, Catawba Veterinary Hospital will see me again. Job well done.

Absolutely wonderful advocate for animals. They have the most caring vets and staff. I have taken many strays there, and they receive the same great care that all the animals seen there receive. Love this place, especially because of the compassion they have for my homeless kitties. They are truly the best in the area! Well worth the drive if you do not live nearby.

We spend our summers in Port Clinton and have had need of veterinary services for our cat on several occasions. Whether it was for another cat bite or symptoms of an urinary tract infection, Dr. Lenke was available to see her in a timely fashion and was both thorough and gentle with his exam. He is very good about presenting options/alternatives when they exist. I am so glad he is here!

I have always brought our animals there from time I was a young child with my first dog (many years ago). The girls did what they could to get out sick furry four legged child in without an appointment. They are always courteous and care so much for their patients. We will always take our furry family members to Catawba Veterinary Hospital. Thank you for what you do

Nice clinic, great vet, friendly and good advise. Very pricey prescriptions if you purchase there with handeling fee! Couldn't afford to get even 3 prescription pills in an emergency as my dog continued to bite himself raw bleeding:(

With only three days left on our visit to Lakeside, we were so worried when our cat starting vomiting every time she ate. Dr. Lemke was able to see us almost immediately. The cat's tummy was settled down. She spent a day recuperating and then we drove the 12 hours home. She was fine the entire way.We appreciate the skill and kindness we received at CVH.

I love everything about Catawba Veterinary Hospital. The front desk staff & the techs are efficient & kind. Dr. Lenke is great, patient & explains everything well including offering options especially when costs are rising. I recently had a very positive experience with one of the other Vets working there, Dr Ronie. She was amazing. Extremely kind & compassionate. Gives a complete exam, was very gentle with my old feeble cat, and gave some positive suggestions on how to keep him happy & healthy. The following day I got an email from the staff checking up on how my cats were doing on their new treatment plan. I have nothing but cudos for everyone.

My dog and I had a wonderful experience at this vet. The staff was very accommodating and professional. My dog Charlie didn't shake and loved the Doctor as he was given his shots. It doesn't get any better than this!

I had a very good experience at Catawba Vet Hospital. What a clean, delightful and happy place to bring our loved pets. Everyone greeted us like we were family. My dog was never nervous there. WEll here is my story. My dog and I traveled from Arizona to visit a friend - Marblehead, OH. Somehow during the travels, my dog had a problem with one dew claw (terrible tear down to the skin) . I called the vet and she took him in right away. Within 5 minutes explained what needed to be done and sent my friend and I on our way for 2 hours so she could take care of the problem right away (he was in pain). The Veterinarian (can't remember her name) is a true pet whisper! My dog was very comfortable with her. She is no nonsense professional and obviously loves animals and her job. She did not try and sell me anything extra, did not suggest x rays, bloodwork, ultra sound, IV, over night etc. After an examination, Rusty was sedated and the nail was removed. While under sedation, she trimmed all of my dog's nails and secreted his glands. He was put on anti-inflammatory for 5 days and 2 weeks antibiotic. I thought for sure the bill would be like $300-$500! I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill for $140, which included the two prescribed medications. She also included very detailed follow up care and detailed what was done in the office. The doctor even followed up with a phone call the next day! By day three I noticed some changes in the surgical area and called the vet. The doctor actually called me back and assured me that what I was seeing was the healing process. Well it has been almost 3 weeks and Rusty is doing great. This was the very best vet experience ever. I highly recommend. It is a bonus that rates and fees are so reasonable.

We are new to the area and heard nothing but wonderful things about Dr. Lenke. He came highly recommended by several of my close friends, so I made an appointment with him. My dog was completely updated before we moved out of state on all of his vaccines and was seen regularly by our vet back home. Imagine to my surprise, we were not being seen by Dr. Lenke at all but another doctor. I have never heard of. This was a meet and greet only and I believe the practice had an obligation to tell me prior to this appointment and allow me to decide if I wanted to be seen or not. When we arrived the receptionist was on the phone and barely acknowledged us, telling me she had computer problems. I had a 2:20 appointment and had already filled out my paperwork prior to my visit. About 15 mins past the time I was due to be seen, I was told that I wouldn't be seeing Dr. Lenke at all, but instead another vet. as Dr. Lenke had the day off.Well, the first thing out of the vets mouth, was my dog needed to lose weight; he consistently has weighed between 76-78 lbs, since he was 1.5 yrs old. He was 78 lb today. She didn't like the food he was fed (Wellness) and said she would prefer Purina over our food. Didn't like the heartworm/flea medication (Sentinal Spectrum) that he had been taking for years, 12 months year round, thought the tick medication (Bravecto) while good and necessary, was redundant or overkill with the heartworm/flea medication. I then got a lecture on protecting my dog's ACL from him being overweight and playing him.We have owned American Pit Bull Terriers longer than she has been a veterinarian. I know the dangers of ACL and what it takes to repair them. I also know my dog and what he can and can't do. My previous vet whom we went to every six months, had nothing but praise for our dogs, which she had taken care of since she first graduated from OU almost 20 years ago.Sorry for the long review, but when I (we) make an appointment with a particular doctor, I believe the practice has an obligation to tell the patient PRIOR to their visit the they will not be seeing who they were scheduled with. Especially since this was a meet and greet only and the pet needed nothing. Will not be returning.
