We love OVAC. Josh is so thorough when caring for your animals. He took great care of one of our older dogs before he had to be put down then has also figured out another problem with our current dog which ended up getting surgery twice. I won’t take any animal to anyone else! I also highly recommend getting animal insurance if available. It was a lifesaver on my dogs surgery twice.

I took my little guy to be neutered. The staff is amazing and kind. The prices are very affordable. It was great to find a local vet who sees rabbits. Thank you!

Josh and his staff saved our dogs life and we are beyond grateful. After 3 trips to her usual visit over a month and a half we were told she had a tumor on the side of her head which showed up and continued growing very quickly but we were scheduled 2 1/2 weeks out for a biopsy which we thought was too long to wait considering how fast this mass appeared and grew in size. Josh got us in the very next day and removed the mass 5 days later!! I whole heartedly believe if we had waited like her usual vet had planned we would have lost her. Instead she’s home with us and recovering. We are so thankful for Josh and his staff!

If you've got the opportunity to use a different vet for having your dogs spayed or neutered, you should go with your other option. I understand that surgery on an animal is not cheap but I'm trying to help prevent the overpopulation problem with animals. I shouldn't have to pay over $400 to have my dog neutered

Dr Josh is so caring. He spends time with his patients and provides excellent care. Wouldn’t trust anyone else to care for our little Lucy. Lucy got spayed and a microchip. The staff kept us updated until it was time to pick her up. She recovered quickly and there’s no visible scar!

Clean, functional facility, sharp knowledgeable vet techs, excellent veterinary support. My new go-to for vet care... except I'll probably try to stick with the Athens location. It's closer to me by a stretch.

I was so happy to find a veterinarian practice of this caliber when we moved to the area. It was everything I expect, friendly, professional, clean, up to date, with a knowledgeable, caring staff.Sophia, Sabrina, and Marcus have been well cared for. Dr. Ervin even helped with Sabrina's immigration to reunite with her human in Toyko! As someone who is self employed, I understand the expenses entailed starting your own business; medical equipment is expensive, start up costs are high, but the investment pays off in quality of service, so whenI hear complaints the practice is expensive, I counter with this:1) It takes as much time and resources to become a vet as it does to become a people doctor.2) Veterinarian's do not have patients with medical insurance to subsidize the costs of care.3) Veterinarians have to purchase their equipment, unlike a doctor who often begin their career in an established practice. This practice is an asset to our community, and I wish Dr. Ervin and staff continued success,

Dr. Ervin and his entire Staff with the OVAC in Pomeroy, OH helped my Doggo when nobody else could or would during this crazy, covid-19 time. We couldn’t find a Vet in the Parkersburg, WV area that was able to assist with her sudden limping. They were either all booked or they weren’t “accepting new patients,” (we were in town visiting from Charlotte.) We drove an hour to see Dr. Ervin and I loved the fact that he didn’t automatically hit us with unnecessary tests’/ bloodwork, or x-rays. They both, Dr. Ervin and Debbie, took phenomenal care of my Sophie and we were out within a decent amount of time at around $80-$90, (total included the office visit, exam and all medications.) Unbelievable! Highly recommend OVAC in Pomeroy - it was definitely worth the drive from Parkersburg.

Brought my leopard gecko that had an abscess on her face, underneath her left eye Dr. Ervin was super careful with her and was able to successfully remove it. This was my first time with this clinic and I plan to bring my other pets here if needed

I'm sure you don't remember me. I think it was like 5 years or so ago my the picture that's in my profile you took care of him my precious precious snowball. Everybody everybody said to put him down because he had feline leukemia but me and him was fighting for every being we had to save him my throat we brought him to you cuz you do that you did the blood transfusion we ordered meds from all over the country you did a good job with him. It's just at the end he knew it was over and I did have to put him down that was the hardest and the most agonizing thing I had to do thank you for taking care of my precious precious snowball

Dr. Ervin and his staff, both Athens and Pomeroy location have been so kind and caring for our Daisy. We had to make the hard decision of euthanasia for her. Without this excellent group we would not have had her as long as we did.The most compassionate and caring people in a Veterinary office I have ever experienced.

Wish I could leave less. Misdiagnosed my pet by a lot and gave him the wrong treatment. When we finally figured out what was going on it could have been totally preventable and he would have recovered, but sadly he ended up passing because of it. They didn’t seem to care and was very dismissive to my pet.

The entire staff was very kind during an extremely painful and sudden unexpected development with my sweet Fancy. The kindness has still meant so much even today. Thank you to everyone there. This is a wonderful caring clinic...

My dog went there and I was told cancer 1350 dollars. I went to Athens and the same surgery was 800.I needed pain meds was told no problem... When it was time I was told to bring her in to be seen. I was charged 2 times. I was not happy. It seems to me they care more about money than a animal. I now go to Meigs vet. They have payment plans. Will not be going back. I don't have money to throw away plus I want someone that cares.

The doctors are thorough and take their time with you. That means a lot. I also like that they let you know what the cost of service will be before you pay. Prices are a little high so I like to know what I'll be paying first. I've been given options before like with one of my cats I took over last year after she got injured from a jump, I could forego an x-ray and try medicine first. Saved me a lot of money and thankfully no x-ray was necessary. Very clean place, too.

I first used this office to see my conure. Dr. Ewing and his staff were great! They are more expensive than most vets in the area. I was using Meigs county vet for my other animals because they are cheaper. However, when my cat started to have what I thought were neurological issues Meigs told me that my cat was old and loosing muscle tone and I should have him put down. I took him to Dr Ewing when the steroid that Meigs gave me didn't work. My cat had a really bad ear infection. No drainage or anything but when Dr Ewing used a scope to take a look his ear was full of wax and pus. In October I got married and moved to Ripley. We started using Ripley paws because it's local. Our corgi puppy got an ear infection and Ripley did tests and gave her meds. A week later her ear seemed worse. We took her back to Ripley and they did another culture and said she was good. Knowing that was wrong we drove her to Dr Ewing for a second opinion. He did a culture, gave us different meds and her ear cleared up in no time. This office is more expensive, and the Dr isn't in everyday so having a semi emergency where the pet needs seen same day isn't possible. However, Dr Ewing is the most competent vet not just in the area but extended area. Meigs is really fortunate to have Dr Ewing in the area. ( I gave 4 stars because of price and not being available for sick animals that need seen same day)

I can not say enough for the Ohio Valley Animal Clinic. The staff was so nice on the telephone. They worked us in on kind of an emergency basis. I am so appreciative of the knowledge and fine assessment skills that has lead to my kitty improving a little bit each day. ...I can't thank you all enough.

Ohio Valley Animal Clinic is a fairly new veterinarian service to Meigs County. His practice is always kept so very clean and does not smell like animals at all. The service always goes above and beyond. They always try to get you in as soon as possible and immediately if it calls for that. DR Ervin himself is very passionate with the animals. He doesn't just throw them on the table and go on. He makes friends with them first if there is time. He lets them begin to feel safe first. He has an awesome personality for what he does. And most importantly he is very knowledgeable. He is so smart about the animals and he himself has a farm. He has done both of my dogs neutering procedure perfectly. The dogs have came thru wonderfully and didnt even act like they just had surgery. He sent them home with discharge instructions and medications for pain. My dogs are my children and I want them to be treated as such.. He always does this. I would trust him with any of my animals.
