An excellent location to set or stand and watch the sunset. Just park in the ledges trail parking lot and head in the opposite direction of the ledges lodge and trail head. A very short trail that takes you to the top of the ledges overlook for a perfect sunset view.Fees: Free

Cuyahoga Valley National Park has been ranked #2 best park in the nation. My sister came from Honolulu & was here for just over 24 hours. The Ledges is where she wanted to go. Many people @ home told her she had to go there while in Ohio. The view from the overlook was beautiful!

The ledges overlook was disappointing as far as overlooks are concerned. you're overlooking tree tops. i wouldnt consider it much of an overlook. maybe in the winter, when there are no leaves. If you only want to see the overlook, cut through the field from the far left of the parking lot, to the back left corner of the field.the rest of the trail below the rocks looks incredible, but we had just come from nelson quarry ledges, and were all rocked out. would love to do the full trail eventually. we just had better things to see

This place goes down in history for our families. My wife's middle name is Kendall and her parents were even married here. This park inside the Cuyahoga Valley National park is a must see! There is plenty of parking, large open fields, pavilions, modernized restrooms, and beautiful trails to traverse. Not to mention the ledges and rock formations are really a site to behold. Right across the street is Kendall Lake and below the ledges is the "Octagon" park. All within walking distance or drive if you don't want a hike. This is just one of dozens of parks within the Cuyahoga Valley. If you like nature and exploration, this is the place for you.A Little history about our cave parks : As of the 80's and 90s not many know this but many of the caves in ALL the parks were mostly filled in with trees and dirt or locked off. I actually got to explore many of the caves 30+ years ago as a child and was at Nelson ledges and Virginia Kendall a couple times when they were filling them in. It happened because people sadly died in a few or died trying to get to them. (Some you would need to climb to) It was actually in the news a couple times.

A nice hike of about 1 hour. Unfortunately the view was blocked by big trees but serene from top anyways. The park location is convenient and plenty of parking is available. No fee is required.

Very nice overlook to capture that selfie. One of the best rock cliffs around. Tons of different rock formations. There's plenty to see and explore. A very popular location. Can get very busy at times. Easy hiking trails but you still feel like you got some good exercise. Trails well signed. There's a trail to a bat cave, but it's closed to protect them.

Beautiful overlook! Be sure to get there early as it can get crowded! Lots of people taking great pictures of the sunset!

Always clean and clear trails. Benches and trash cans are extremely prevalent. Huge grass area and multiple pavilions/grill sites. The walk to Ledges Overlook from the main parking lot is just grass and very easy. The other loops in inner trails can be decently challenging.Dogs are welcome. This is my dogs favorite loop, the trail is just challenging enough for her.

Fun hike, start at the overlook and then hike below it and see all the rock features. Great for kids to run around inside the rocks and climb on smaller rocks.

The loop is great if you’re in the area, the overlook isn’t much of an overlook at all. This is a chill hike that’s great for dogs and kids.

The ledge trails are natural and easy for hiking. The overlook only has a brilliant view in fall when the leaves turn yellow or red.Fees: Free

The loop trail has a decent view this time of year all along the edge. Nice east hike and easy access. There are also picnic tables close by.

Great hiking spot! Has the overview and the ice box cave which feels great on a hot day. There are some areas that aren’t doable with a baby strapped to you but would be fine for kids 3+.

Didn't make it to the overlook, but the hike was nice nonetheless. I went in mid May, when it was upper 60s and just beautiful outside. Hiked next to a running stream for the 3/4 mile or so.

The overlook is nothing particularly special or beautiful. You can’t see very far. But the rest of the ledges loop trail is really neat! So many cool rock formations to look at and easy hiking.

Great hiking trail. Not too demanding so you are able to go if you need to sit down often or have small children. Plenty of walking space to get around others. Multiple picnic areas with tables and grills set up throughout the trail. Parking lots on different entrances and multiple Pavillions for gatherings. Bathrooms located at different Pavillions. Huge field here as well, great for playing Frisbee or ball games with friends and families.

Beautiful and peaceful hike up to the ledges. You can also drive to a nearby parking lot and walk about 5 minutes. I've heard this scene in the fall is breathtaking!

If you need a smooth path then you may not want to try this one, but if a natural worn sometimes Rocky and covered in tree roots path doesn't bother you then the end view is worth the hike. It is not a very hard hike. It is a fun place to explore. Also the bathrooms at the top have been closed for years so go before you head out.
