Feel bad we didnt know to review the first 2 times! So....we just took home our 3rd boy from these lovely people. Our 5 year old standard poodle was my first dog in my whole life. Im 36 now. We did our research and of course landed on BDH. The we took home his younger brother 2 years later. Could not be happier with the health quality, temperament and care taken with these boys. Yesterday we took home our 3rd and final dog for a while. He is a spinger/poodle mix and is even more affectionate at 2 months than our younger poodle. Which I didn't think was possible. Most of my friends have dogs and I am pretty confident my experience has been better than most if not all. My wife also had a puppy mill apricot colored poodle before we met and the difference she said has been very obvious. We are very grateful for eveything and I hope this helps give others looking - some reassurance or guidance. Especially those who live out in NY where finding a good pup is difficult.

We recently purchased our little guy a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel they called Jack. Me and my partner traveled from NC and thought we had found a good kennel. As soon as we got our little guy home we noticed he was not well. After a very expensive visit to the vet we find out he has several issues. Three different parasite and yeast infections in both ears. This was a very large purchase $2,200. To then have to watch this new love of our lives suffer has been very hard. Also on his paperwork and vet records there are several different dates of birth.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Bird Dog Hill! Cheri and Chase were wonderful to work with. Everything went smooth and we got updated pictures as our puppy grew. We went to go visit the him and I was happy with what I saw each time. When we brought him home we got a detailed vet report and his paperwork. Cheri made sure to go over everything with us so we felt comfortable bringing our puppy home and was available to answer any questions! We absolutely adore our new family member and would definitely purchase another puppy from this breeder in the future!

If you’re looking around for a trustworthy breeder then your search is over. These guys are amazing!!Me and my girlfriend just recently added to our family and got an English Springer Spaniel puppy from these guys.The entire experience was great and we know exactly where we are going if we are looking for another puppy.The facility was so clean and the dogs were treated so nicely. I got the most wonderful puppy who turned into the best partner for my job in security. The interview process was thorough, which helped match me to the right dog. I was able to meet not only my dog's parents, but her grandfather on site, and learned where her grandmother was. While the farm may look a little old on the outside, rest assured these dogs are very well cared for, living a meaningful life on the farm, being trained/worked with, or are trained if you get an older pup like I did. Cheryl puts a lot of heart and TLC into each puppy she helps bring into this world. If you're in need of a dog who can do a job for you, look no further.

Bought a springer Spaniel last year, is a great dog, very well behaved and social. He is the most affectionate dog I’ve ever had. Breeders were very nice, only complaint was the dog smelled like the farm had to bath him soon as I got home. Would definitely buy another from them.

I thought I did my research 6 years ago when I bought a springer spaniel from this kennel. The setting appears to be a nice farm and I met both dogs parents. I visited when the dog was 6 weeks old and drove back (3 hour drive from ny) to get him at 8 weeks. He had an umbilical hernia that was mentioned just before we left to take our puppy home. Of course the surgery was at my cost. 6 years later I had to euthanize my dog after nearly 4 years of escalating aggression that culminated in a full blown attack where I received serious lacerations to both hands and arms. I need to mention that I consulted a behavioral veterinary specialist and also hired a private trainer who specializes in dog aggression and he had a full medical work up to eliminate any medical issues. My vet said I did way more than most pet parents to try to save my dog. I am writing this review after reading another that mentions several violations. I researched this and found it to be true. Even found a picture of their puppies stacked in cages 3 high. During the pandemic I noted that they were the only springer breeder within 500 miles that had springer puppies available for sale. Also noted that have added several more breeds to their kennel. A reputable breeder will take back a dog for any reason at any time. Birddoghill does NOT. They are the perfect description of a Puppy Mill. The owner is very charismatic and the setting is a nice farm so it all looks nice. Do your homework before you buy from them. You might get a nice dog but you also might get a sick or aggressive dog like I did.

I did alot of research on springer spaniels and decided that was the dog for our family. After looking online I realized they had some of the most beautiful springers in Ohio. I spoke with Chase on the phone a few times before going to pick up our new family member. He answered all of my questions and reassured me I wouldn't be leaving without a dog that I loved. And was he right! We have had our bailey now for almost two months. She is the most amazing dog ever! I would definitely recommend Bird Dog Hill Kennels. We will be purchasing another dog from them in future!

Very good people. I was looking for a goldendoodle and a friend of mine recommended Bird Dog Hill to me. He had purchase a springerdoodle and is very happy with the puppy and the process. I called and talked to Chase and his wife. After getting an education on this breed of dog I was very excited and decided to leave a deposit for a puppy from the next litter. Well I should have talked to the wife first because it was not the size dog she wanted. She wanted a "mini " goldendoodle. Anyway I called Chase back and he understood my predicament and is refunding my deposit . I just want to point this out because not many breeders would do this. Very professional family.

Purchased a wonderful Portuguese Water Dog from bird dog hill. The kinder’s are very kind understanding and most of all very professional to work with. After a previous nightmare with another breeder in Tennessee .The kinder’s where very patient with me throughout the whole adoption process. Let’s just say the puppy is the smartest puppy I have ever met. At 8 weeks old she is almost completely potty trained, sleeps through the night and knows a few commands such as sit,down,paw. Never buy a dog here. Had problems from first week. Dog had parvo. Then it was giardia.. All summer we had to give medicine for giardia and it just cleared up but may come back. The only thing they offered us was full rights. The dog doesn't listen, runs away and hardly wants to play. I would have much rather gave him back then dealt with all this added stress. Definitely not someone to get a dog from.

We purchased a dog from this breeder we are in California. We received the puppy... we are happy with him but, he was sick. The breeder would did not even contact us to check to see if the dog made it to California.I phoned the breeder to ask questions about the food And I stated the dog had diarrhea and I didn't want to confuse the dog's food. The breeder did not get back to me so I was on my own. We took the dog to the vet 6 days after we got him and they found 2 parasites one which is contagious to children and adults and other dogs. I know for a fact this dog did not get it from my home. Now I have to go buy 2 medications to help this poor puppy. I also notified the breeder because her other puppies and dogs could have the same parasites.This was our 1st experience at any kind of breeder purchase and I would never do it again.

Beware! This breeder has failed 2 state inspections. This kennel did not meet minimum guidelines. Puppies in cages that were so crowded they could stand upright, dogs in need of vet care, cages stacked on top of one another, etc. Do your research and do not support puppy mills!If in doubt check out the local East Palestine, Ohio News or the Humane Society Horrible Hundred. Copied and pasted below:East Palestine, Ohio: Cheryl Kinder—Failed two inspections due to seven dogs in need of veterinary care,puppies in crowded, stacked cages, and some dogs who had no water.According to state records, breeder Cheryl Kinder failed two consecutive state inspections in September andOctober 2019. Issues noted at the September inspection included: some dogs did not have water; some weaningkennels did not meet minimum cage size requirements; cages were stacked, which is against state law; surfacescould not be easily cleaned; a lack of environmental enrichment; and a matted dog and seven dogs in need ofdental treatment. A photograph taken on that day shows cages stacked at least three high, in violation of Ohio’snew kennel law; all three levels of cages were filled with puppies who appeared to have barely enough space tostand upright. The licensee also failed a follow-up inspection in October 2019. At that inspection, some of theSeptember violations had been addressed, but the kennel was still marked non-compliant because not all of thedental cleanings had been completed.
