Still a full service checkout and bagging store. No self checkout. They have really good baked items, especially their secret recipe cookies. I believe their meat is far better than big box, grocery stores. They still offer to help you out with your groceries and load your car.

You gotta really watch things that are on sale. 9 times out of 10 it will be rung up full price. 3 times now.... Stop saying stuff is on sale but it rings up full price. Makes me not want to shop there at all. Only time I go there now is when I don't feel like going to wally world. Least wally world will honor the prices and not make the customer be so vigilant. TBH that is a plus to self checkout. I actually will see the price and pay attention to it before i leave the store.

So glad we still have Chief Supermarket in Napoleon. I do not like shopping at WM, and gladly pay a small amount more to support Chief. Their products are quality, as are the employees. Will continue to support them.

My family has shopped here for 75+ years They've always been the best. However the last 4 yrs or so they have really gone down hill. The quality of food is not there anymore. Most of the workers are not friendly or helpful. Bakery & deli are hit n miss, maybe their open & maybe their not, always depleted in stock. The store is dirty, the entrance just need a good sweeping everyday. The dead flowers out front are not very inviting either. I'm just saying the amount of money We spend there I expect more.

Not very friendly staff. Rented rug doctor cleaner and the clerk refused to refund deposit because we didn't clean it properly. They expect you to take machine completely apart and make it shine or something. I actually gave the machine back cleaner than how I initially received it. I will not do business with them again in the future.

Everything is always neat and clean. They have all of the new weeks ads ready to be put out and ready for the customers after the sales start at 8a.m. on Thursday morning. Good service. Reasonable prices.

It is more pricey but the people that work there are so truely amazing! And you can't put a price on customer satisfaction. They really do go above and beyond. My bank card got froze from a fraudulent charge I didn't know it and they paid for my groceries. I later went up and paid them back (even though they didn't want be to) but it was really very nice of them.

I usually enjoy shopping at Napoleon Chief but my recent experience was surprisingly poor quality. Cashier Isaiah Wilkie is unprofessional in general. During one visit, he would not assist me with bagging my items, or with my debit card issue at checkout because he was talking to his friend who was standing near him. I ended up bagging my own items and managed to get my payment to process after several attempts.

This is THE place for groceries in Napoleon. Best Deli, Bakery and Produce in town. Great beer and wine selection. All the things you could need or want to make dinner, from high end hard to find ingredients to the staple name brands you know and love.

Go here instead of Walmart. They may not have everything Walmart has, but how often are you buying Laptops? Be honest with yourself. They have Groceries, Health Supplies, Hygiene Supplies, Cleaning Supplies, HBA, Beauty, etc. All you need! AND, they have an AMAZING Deli that does not give your foreign diseases unlike Walmarts. Their staff is wonderful, friendly, nice, fast, hard working, best shop I know!Its small, quick and easy, the lights don't burn your eyeballs out like Walmarts, go here instead. Support small businesses. Better anyway.

This was my first time ordering a birthday 🎂 well it's my husband 50th of course I order the grim reaper well it looked nothing like the cake I order was not happy but what was I todo it was his party in like 2 hours before pick up and they took off 10.00 To make up for it and I never seen a cake so thin either I will never be ordering from them again

I live in Toledo but I grew up in Defiance, and I still consider Chief to be my hometown grocery store. The deli and bakery are consistently good, and I know where everything is. Bonus: the northwest stores carry Arps milk, and that makes it worth the extra drive!

Good local supermarket, is very close to walmart prices and better and fresher fruits and vegetables, always shop there when we need fresh food and more special kind of items, walmarts shelves are so empty these days, don't know why, only shop there for household items, no fresh food stuff, always get that at chiefs.
