Kindof pricey, okay very pricey but the store was well organized and very clean. The animals looked in good health with clean cages, correct temps, food, and water (which is far more than I can say for the Pet Value in Middletown..) They had a really cute baby hognose for around $100 bucks which is pretty good. But what I was most impressed with was the setup and attention that was paid to a blue crowned conure parrot that they had for sale. He was just a baby but already so sweet and very well behaved even around myself as a complete stranger to him. I could tell the staff really cared about him and showed him loads of attention everyday. The price for him wasn't to bad I guess, for a pet store that is, but too much in my opinion or I probably would have taken him home lol Very polite and attentive staff as well.

Our dog, Max, needed to go on a different kind of food according to our vet.The cashier gave us very good information and helped steer us in the right direction. She also recommended a dry food that Max seems to really like. Very nice employees who are very helpful.

Pet Value is my new favorite pet store. I have recently purchased 3 different pets ; beta fish, rabbit and a fancy mouse, all from seperate places. The beta was the only one from Pet Value. Now the quality of the pet was not the issue however the knowledge of the employees and the prices were not comparable! With the Beta they gave tons of insight into the life of a Beta and how best to prolong its life. They also explained all the supplies and if they were absolutely necessary or just extras. Now the bunny cane from a breeder and it was not show worthy so the price was good but they basically gave it to us and gave no instructions ( I mean I know how to take care of a bunny but some extra insight never hurts). We bought the mouse from another pet store w very little info and the cages were so pricey! Pet Value had the same $32 10 gallon fish tank for $14.99! They also were very knowledgeable and friendly and very happy to help. You can tell that they have all owned or are very knowledgeable about every pet in there. They dont try to oversell and they treat you like every question matters. I will do all my business there from now on. They also have a rewards program , a point for every dollar spent and when yiy get to 200 pts you get $10! Oh and they have adoptable cats as well...si sweet. And !! They have a do it yourself dog wash there and they supply everything from shampoo to towels and hair dryer plus a treat at the end for $20! Its a small store but it has big value!😊 I highly reccommed!

Love coming here on sundays to get my dogs nails trimmed. Amanda, the nail trimmer, and her assistants are so incredibly nice and gentle. Head over to the self serve dog wash after for a puppy spa day! I have never met an employee who was not helpful and well educated. They even go as far as helping me carry my 30lb bag of food. I always recommend this store to all my fur loving friends and family!

Kyle provided EXCELLENT service and knowledge for our pets. He has a great personality, very professional and really seems to love his job. Later we found out he doesn’t work on commission, so his work ethic is authentic and it shows! Super clean store (a little bit hot during the summer months). Overall love shopping there!

This is a very nice store. It's not the biggest nor does it have largest selection, but it's features a nice cross section of pet supplies. They have just about anything you need day to day. Their prices are consistent with other pet supply stores. What sets this place a part is their customer service. The staff are always friendly and always willing to help. I appreciate that in a retailer.

It's true that you can get a lot of essentials cheaper elsewhere but their selection of toys, leashes and other items is great . The staff has always been friendly and helpful at this location. We brought our dog to the self service dog wash for the first time today and they were happy to show us how it works. The cost of the dog wash is also a much better deal here than at the local competitor down the street.

This is by far my favorite and now the only pet store I go to. Being a customer who has to shop a couple times a week, I can honestly say nothing but positive things about the store itself and the amazing employees I have gotten to know. My son wanted a leopard gecko and until researching myself I knew nothing about them or their upkeep! Haley and Josh are hands down two of the most knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful employees. Any questions I have had they have always been more than willing to answer and give their own personal advice on. Ginger has helped me in store a couple times and gives awesome customer service and always is so sweet and personable. The three of them always make me feel important and know what I want when I walk in the door! If you are looking for a local amazing pet store definitely give this store and location a try!

Giving 5 stars because of the staff. I’ve been coming here for all of my pets needs for a couple years now. I’m horrible with name but the store manager the lady with all of tattoos and the younger blonde have always been super helpful friendly and they actually know what they’re talking about!! Very rare to see nowadays. Cooperate if you see this. These ladies need a raise!!

Word can’t express how I love this location of Pet Valu. Lisa and Kaitlyn has the most amazing and beautiful personality’s, and very awesome customer service skills. They make me feel like I’m a part of there family and provide me with the greatest service. If there’s a question I have about one of my dogs or their food, Lisa and Kaitlyn are Johnny on the spot with and answer and a solution. Thank you for always being so kind and greeting me as soon as I walk in the door. They don’t make representatives like you two amy more. I wish I could clone you two and take You to other stores I shop at. Thank you for being you , your such a great assets to Pet Valu and providing and educating me on things about my pets. Variety of toys and pet supplies as well as treats. Small store with local feel. Fish, hamsters, birds and fish also for sale here. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend to a friend. Be sure to also check out the self serve dog wash!

I go here to get kibble and treats for my miniature yorkie. The staff is very helpful and I can get great brands of anything I need! I also get calming treats here that are very helpful at times! I can also purchase grooming products such as for his ears, fur and teeth. I have gotten socks, coats and wipes from here too! Much more to purchase too!

I had the pleasure of meeting Cory a couple weeks ago at the Pet Valu Austin Landing location and he was delightful! I wanted to do a quick wash for my dog and he was very accommodating. Will definitely be back again!

The place is really clean and organized, but I'm very concerned about the staff here. I saw a cashier handle an animal so roughly and unloving. I didn't catch what her name was on her tag, but this lady saw my husband and I looking at the parrots they had for sale(they were out of their cages) and she picked one up, carried him upside down and tossed him back in his cage. I'm no expert on birds but I know they're very fragile. Maybe she was just having a bad day but she was also very rude and didn't talk with us. From what I could tell otherwise, all the exhibits we're clean so at least the animals are in healthy environments.

Great facilities for giving your dog a bath! Friendly and helpful employees, too. Super selection of toys and treats. On expensive side, but reasonably priced items can be found if you take the time.

Horrible experience. Staff was very rude. I heard a staff member tell a customer with a little black dog that her dog peed on the floor and she needed to take her dog outside immediately. The staff member was very short with this customer and begrudedly cleaned up the floor. Clearly this staff person does not belong working in a pet store. Pet Valu needs competition at Austin Landing. There is also a Pet People down the road just into Springboro, or mail order through Amazon or Chewy’s.

This goes for all stores..Their hours are about impossible to work around. I work fixed hours full time. There's no reason a pet store needs to be open so late and closed so early. My poor gecko is starving and I can't feed him cuz it's Sunday and I have to go to work at 9. Unfair. Staff is great people are helpful but hours are bad.

Had problems keeping fish i got from them in the past. Recently after they changed the layout (half the amount of tanks now) ive only been able to keep 1 of the 7 fish they sold me. Well see if that last one stays alive. All my other fish are doing fine. Ill be staying away till i hear something good about it.The fish in this store are big contrast compared to the jacks in middle town, Health and the amount now. But well see after/if they renovate that one and it changes.

They use "bait and switch" tactics and their website has false and misleading prices, it also does NOT match the website on their store computers. I had to file a misleading advertising complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The prices for the items that I was going to buy were over 30% higher than what was advertised, The "employee" only had a one-phrase-vocabulary, which was "I don't know" and the manager was conveniently "unavailable". Their corporate office is located in Canada and they have an incompetent and rude customer service department that promises to let you speak to a live representative, but actually puts you on hold for a long time and then you get a recording that tells you that somebody will contact you days later.

Horrible place! The Pet Valu that I went to did not treat their animals good and the place was dirty with crickets roaming around the place because their containers was opened! Not only that, the floors were soaked and all the tanks/cages were opened even the bunnies. The cats lived in terrible conditions and the fish were overcrowded. I wouldn't recommend Pet Valu even if you wanted to rescue the animals.

somewhat a small store - ive seen bigger - so there aren't a lot of animals to visit, which is my favorite part, but they usually have cats & that's all i need fr lol but ive been shopping at pet valu for almost 4 years & im still mad at their prices. $2 for a can of wet cat food? i may as well go grocery shopping, & they hardly have any deals or discounts... the staff is polite & helpful tho, & im usually greeted when i walk in.my sweetheart of a cat had all but two of her teeth removed bc of absorptive lesions. she'll still eat hard food, dry or damp (for easier eating), but she'll be 8 this year & deserves nothing but the best so i do my best to get her easy-to-eat, high quality food without a lot of fillers & other junk.pet valu just happens to be the only place that carries the earthborn brand (that i know of). she goes craaazy for it! & i like it bc, unlike cheaper wet food at family dollar or walmart, the smell doesn't make me gag when i open a can, & it doesn't make my trash smell like dead animals (especially in the summer omg 😵). it's real food, i recommend it

Went to wash my pupper in their bathtubs. They have two wash and two dry bays. Wash bays were full when we arrived, but the staff acknowledged us and Sai we would be next and to browse around d the store and they'd find us when it was ready. They provide towels and you can purchase shampoo their if you need some. We brought both from home. Doggo is clean and dry. Only $10 is a bargain to not have to do it at home!

The staff were amazing and even helped me bath my dog who was scared of the bath and a lot to handle (180 pound Great Dane). I definitely recommend this place and will be going back!!!

This store used to be Jack's Aquarium and they were bought out by Pet Valu... And when petvalu took over they completely reduced the aquatic pet section to not even one eighth of the store and on top of that they expanded the dog and cat sections and now they offer dog grooming and I think also some minor veterinarian services but I'm not sure on that. As someone that is allergic two dogs and cats it is definitely not friendly to me because of the fact when you go in there there is a very very strong dog odor that hit you very forcefully, I literally had to leave the store and had a asthmatic attack which I rarely ever have and I never had when this was Jack's Aquarium. To me this store is very lame it does not offer a balance in pets it doesn't offer very many exotic or aquatic pets or the supplies and what they do offer it tends to be high-priced, by the way the name is completely lame, this is why I don't like buyouts, this might cater to the dog and cat crowd but for the rest of the pet crowd the store definitely is not recommended... I really really miss Jacks Aquarium and pets

Staff was very friendly, kaitlin was so nice i was looking to buy new fish she took her time with me and answered any questions i had. This will now be my go to place for my fish and dog.
