This place is amazing and they also addeda candy shop in the back which is delicious. I highly recommend stopping by and checking this place out if your ever in Mesopotamia. The Owners are amazing and the stuff is great. I grew up around Mesopotamia And it's0 one of my family's traditions to always go there every christmas with the family. Also make sure you get to go check out all the different kinds of root beer they offer. Also make sure you get your self some penny candy 🍬They also Have amish homemade jelly & Peanut butter Which is out of this world and very delicious. I will definitely be back soon.

We had a friend recommend we stop in to this store.We were glad we did.It was your typical Amish store, but just fun to go through.The hand dipped ice cream was reasonable (and generous!) and the choices of fried pies was awesome!!

Wow take you back in time. Candy I’ve never seen. Bakery of the most yummy stuff. Even a cold cut deli plus sandwiches. Yes you can eat here in dining area there was Amish eating and your not to photograph Amish. They will get upset. There ice cream area. Lots crafts. Handi cap ramp. Bathroom handicap friendly. Parking out front. Limited close up.

It is a unique, old-fashioned, fun store! Many items to remind you of a time gone by, as well as a large selection of foods and candies. An Amish bulk food section. An ice cream bar. A cheese deli and a charming restaurant. It's an historic place that lives up to its name.

The fry pie is amazing. I got a peach flavored one. Love the taffy as well and the store has lots to choose from and decent prices. I’ll definitely come back when in the area.

A definite stop if you are in the area. A very unique experience in a small Amish Community.I prefer their Sloppy Joe on a homemade bun. The bun texture even looks like art. Perhaps a lost art to many?Be aware they are closed on Sunday’s.

Pretty cool store, definitely worth a stop to see all the old decor and interesting items for sale. Fry pies were good though the blueberry I had I didn’t see any blueberries, was more of a compote, still tasty but was hoping for more of a homemade blueberry pie style. The apple at least had pieces of apple in it.

Great Amish themed store. Lots of great stuff for cooking and some fun stuff for mementos. Ice cream is good and micro brew rootbeer! Don't forget your fry pies!...picked up some more yedterday!

An interesting and fun shop. Pretty tourist oriented. Lots of candy and novelty items. Very clean and well organized. Staff friendly. There is a free oversized checker board for those not inclined to shop. Parking can be tricky so be carefull.

This place is amazing. It looks like a little old corner gas station till you go in & it's HUGE! It's a Walmart, hardware store, hobby lobby & corner store all rolled into one. Definitely must stop in if you're passing by

The homemade options are amazing the sandwiches are really good very unique store with a vintage atmosphere where locals work and are very nice and helpful. If you haven't had one ever you need to try a fry pie it is the best homemade mini pie you will enjoy.

My first time here and it was nice. I liked the old style and look this store has. There were items that were homemade inside too. I think the price point of some items aren't at a good selling price but the place seems to be doing well.

Loved it...a trip down memory lane for us. Charming, quaint, rustic, have been looking for a good quality motor & pestle, they had it. For mixing herbs & spices, it is the way to go.

Great place to go for my favorite ice cream. Blue moon. I used to go there with my grandpa when i was a young boy. He passed when i was young. One of my favorite memories of him.

Oh my word!!! Take the kids and go have some fun. Get some ice cream, buy some penny candy. Pet the goats. Pan for rare gems or arrow heads.So much to see and do for young and old.

A great store to find candy from your childhood and all the little knick knacks for your home or as a gift. Ice cream is a must as well as homemade fudge. They have deli meats and cheeses as well as the craziest selection of soft drinks you'll find.

Lots of misc candy and food items. A small deli, store and gas station in a very old structure. Parking can be a little difficult at busy time because it's at the intersection of two busy roads.

This beautiful place just takes you back in time! It was 100% worth the stop- and my family and I will be going back. So many things to explore inside: candles, dry mixes, baking needs (including a whole room full of cookie cutters, sprinkles, & more!), jams, jellies, peanut butter (with samples), cheeses, ice cream, salt water taffy, famous Fry Pies & so much more! Set in the idyllic town of Mesopotamia, OH- the General Store and Mercantile offers you a more than just products- it offers you a journey- an experience.
