We rescued our lovely Lottie here. The rescue estimated she was a 6 month old Australian Shepherd Mix when we got her in September of 2019, now she’s a 4.5 years old and a happy, healthy, adventure loving girl and beloved member of our family. We will be forever grateful to CCAWL for helping us to find her. We saw Lottie’s listing online, reached out about meeting her, and filled out the application online. Upon arrival I was allowed to go into a room to meet and play with Lottie, I knew right away I loved her. The rescue staff were friendly and easy to work with in the adoption process.

Got my sweet Bella from CCAWL a few years ago and have been supporting them ever since. They do so much good work, especially in regards to rescueing dogs from puppy mills. Here's my girl the day I brought her home and now.

This is the best shelter ever. The staff Tiger, Cole are are caring and compassionate. They take the best care of their animals and love every one of them. The animals are saved from horrific conditions and are all healthy, spayed/neutered and have shots when you adopt. I will always adopt from CCAWL. Top notch organization. Please consider adopting from and donating to them.

Very nice people that work there, tiger was extremely helpful. Went in and adopted a shih tzu Saturday and he is the most loving boy ever. Took him to get groomed today and looks more handsome as ever. Would definitely recommend them if looking for an animal

Tiger & staff are amazing & work tirelessly to save as many animals as possible! The care & compassion at CCAWL is unsurpassed. I don’t understand people complaining about the adoption process. They try their best to make sure the animals are being adopted by legitimate, responsible, capable pet owners so the pets have a real chance for a great life! I’ve adopted two rescued cocker spaniels & appreciate the opportunity to purchase a fully vetted, adult dog for such a bargain price! Thank God for them, because most of these animals had horrendous starts to their lives, & certain death coming if not rescued.

CCAWL does amazing work! Pulling from Amish mills is difficult and bringing dogs in so broken, neglected, and with no medical care is expensive. They fully vet their dogs with a vet check and vaccinating, spay or neuter, checking for heart worm, starting preventions, just to name a few of their expenses. To purchase one of these dogs from a pet store you’d still have to pay additional monies to have your pet fully vetted. The care they give these animals in their rescue is exceptional. Applicants are screened and pre-approved to help make sure the placement is a good fit for both the potential new owner and the pet. I would not hesitate purchasing a new pet from them. Check out their available pets! Your new family member is waiting for you!

We adopted a beautiful and sweet 6 years old Cocker Spaniel from ccawl. The process was thorough and professional. Their facility is beautiful and great for animals who came from tuff circumstances. Iris is perfect she needed us and we needed her.

Tiger and her staff have devoted their lives to finding families for dogs that puppy mills are prepared to destroy or release. CCAWL is attentive to the needs of each dog. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and chipped for $275. Puffy has added a lot of love to our family.

I brought kittens in for a friend because her outdoor cat had kittens. I have never been here before and they have a nice set up for these animals. The animals looked healthy and well taken care of. The staff members are nice and caring with animals. Unfortunately, I cannot leave an entirely good review. I do have a problem with them not completely informing me on their policy beforehand prior to my arrival. They said they would take the two black kittens and the tiger striped one and spay the mother cat for free. The tiger striped kitten found a home so I brought in the black kittens and the mother cat. When I got there, Tiger said due to the policy, they couldn't take the kittens because it was all three or nothing because black kittens are hard to place in homes and they never explained that on the phone anywhere in the conversation. Tiger also said the spay would understandably, not happen either for the same reason. Tiger helped us by calling their boss and asking if they could still take the kittens and spay the mother cat and the boss said no. Although I do understand why they couldn't take them, I just wish they would have explained the policy on the phone so they didn't inconvenience both of our times. Thank you Tiger for trying to help us out. I do wish for future customers that they explain the policy so that way there is no misunderstanding.

Horrible experience. We were so excited to come here and look into adopting one of their dogs. After a 40 minute drive, we were greeted by a rude lady and 2 others who wouldn't even look at us. They would not let us even see the dog we wanted because we did not fill out the pre-application form. We asked if we could just look at the dog and also asked to fill out the form quickly while there. The lady was beyond mean and turned us away without even being able to look at a single dog. Its upsetting to know that the workers are not allowing the dogs, which most are rescued from puppy mills, to have any interactions with people besides them. It seems almost like a money grab with the application fees and I am overall very sad for the dogs who are "rescued" and brought here.

Hateful company. Blast Amish by their religion then sell the puppies they “rescue “ for same prices. Horrible people

We are so lucky to have this exceptional facility. I have utilized their clinics so many times for basic vaccinations to spay and neuter surgeries. Always so professional, always organized for clinics and surgery pick up/drop offs and they call you as soon as your pet is up and moving after surgery which I like. No waiting until the end of the day with no word. My vet even recommends them. Thanks for all you do, it is so much appreciated!

A few days ago was my first experience with this place, and honestly it still makes me frustrated to think about. There aren't really any good words I can say. The lady that I dealt with was extremely rude. Their customer service is terrible enough to make me feel like they didn't care about my dog or any for that matter. Furthermore from my experience their handling of dogs in general seems very poor. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like being treated like moldy lasagna.

I couldn’t be more pleased with every aspect of my pet adoption process! Everyone I talked or met with was friendly, responsive and courteous and I wouldn’t think twice about recommending them or using them again myself! They have a beautiful facility and they love their animals.

They were so awesome when we found a puppy. They had them up to date on shots and microchips. Gave us an file with all the information. By far the cleanest and organized adoption facility I've ever been to. Theyndo everything on sight and have bonding rooms! I recommend them to anyone in search of a new family member!

Whoever runs their social media accounts is Childlike, Rude and Very Unprofessional ...Their Adoption fees are Ridiculous not to mention their fee to fill out an application for adoption !!!Mr. Wetzell would be ashamed of their practices compared to what he started ...

I cannot recommend them enough! In 2018 my shih tzu had open pyometra and needed immediate surgery. Our normal vet couldn't work her in with their already emergency surgeries but recommended the Animal Welfare League. I called and they got her in same day at 1/8 of the cost since she had already been to MedVet and was on antibiotics. They saved my baby and I could never thank them enough! They saved my baby girl and for that I will be FOREVER grateful!!! Since then we've have taken our other female and our male there to be fixed and my mom has taken her male there to be fixed. They are always the first place I recommend when having an animal neutered or spayed and will ALWAYS be my first recommendation!!!!

This is my first time dealing with this facility. We took our cats for spay/neuter. Being in the profession of high volume s/n, and knowing every facility has their own surgical protocol, I asked general questions. There was absolutely zero transparency and lack of knowledge from the intake person, which causes extreme anxiety as an owner. I was then met with rude resistance from an employee, who was introduced as Tiger. Although my anxiety was high about the situation, I gave myself and them the benefit of acknowledging that I may be an overzealous animal owner and left my babies in their care. Another thing that was off putting was the lack of signs directing people where drop off was located. I understand that they try to communicate to the people calling and making appointments. Things happen, and someone else, such as myself, has to do the dropping off. Which, in my case, exasperates anxiety further. I will update this once I have picked up my babies, and pray that it was just a floundering bad morning for all involved.

Quite a drive over from Delaware, OH but well worth it! I adopted Baby Girl the Rottweiler who was 8 years old and needed a home. This organization is some of the most friendly people i've ever met! I have never found a group of people who love and care for animals so much! Please adopt dogs instead of support chain stores who over breed through puppy mills!

Loving, caring and compassionate workers! They are hands on with everyone animal there as if they were their own. They not only care about who is in the facility, but great concern for others also. FABULOUS facility and VERY clean. I'm so overly pleased with the facility, I would love the opportunity to assist them personally myself.

I took my 3 youngest grandkids there 3 weeks ago! I have been in many places where animals are held captive, but this haven is by far the CLEANEST, NON-SMELLING I have EVER been privileged to visit! They have lots of volunteers to help clean the cages and give tours! Our guide was very knowledgeable about all facets of the facility! I hope this answers anyone 's questions! I don't know their hours, but you could probably get them on Google!

I highly recommend Champaign County Animal Welfare League. They are a haven for the wellbeing of a wide variety of animals. They are courtious and helpful in every situation. We live 30 minutes from the site, but it is definitely worth the drive for clinical needs or adoption services. They have an attractive website.
