Tanks were all dirty and the fish were all either dying or dead. When we came in a lady was there talking about how her animal she purchased there the week prior is horribly sick to which the employee said it was fine and the vet was wrong. Tanks, decor & supplies were double if not triple the price. Don’t wait your time, money or emotions on this place.

Please don’t support this business!Staff was friendly enough, a bit pushy and condescending but I was very disappointed in the care of the animals. The enclosures andcare standards are deplorable.Reptiles: are kept in tiny cages with no where to hide. This is extremely stressful for the poor babies. They also mix species and ages that should not be together. They had 2 adult ball pythons in with a juvenile boa!Gerbils: had a tiny wire wheel and small amount of wood shavings. Wire wheels cause many issues with feet and broken legs. They also had no hides and nothing to chew, which causes huge issues with incisor growth and dental disease. They also looked pretty sickly and were acting stressed and lethargicHamsters: These poor babies were way too little. They had 5 babies in a very small enclosure. Again, no hides, chews, and not even a wheel for the hamsters. They looked to have some kind of upper respiratory issueGuinea pigs: no hides or enrichment and I didn’t see any trace of hay either which is a staple in their diet. All of them had ringworm as well. I don’t know how they are getting away with selling all of these sick animals.

Honestly, I can't even walk in this store anymore. The pets have no hides, the young guy is pushy, and I don't see anything worth going back for. The lack of concern for the pets having hides (a requirement!) is just too much for me. Do better, PetZone. Do better.

I love working with Shawn. He is so knowledgeable, but what impresses me to the most that he knows his customers names and their pet's names. He shows legitimate interest and concern for his customers and their needs.

He,s fish die 2hr after you buy there in then he tell they are ok and there not ! I'd recommend to to go to gallon for fish he does you right and he treats you right 💯

Had a very unpleasant experience at this store...Went in to look for a pet snake to buy...Came across another customer that owned snakes and was looking for snake feed and we got into conversation about snakes and I mentioned I breed rats and if he needs any ...I have plenty...Well store owner overheard me and gave me an attitude to leave the store. All I was trying to do was help this customer and he had a large Boa and I had large rats ...I was asked to leave and store owner is a complete jerk like everyone says!...I hope this business gets shut down...They also don't keep up with maintenance with the animals and keep the tanks clean...Please do no support this business...Owner is a jerk and very unprofessional...Had a much better experience at Petco!

Went into establishment about a week ago to get some crickets for my baby bearded dragon. I saw that the crickets were rather large so I voiced my concern to the owner about them being too big for my baby. He assured me they were not too big that he feeds them to his babies. He told me since they were so big that my beardie would only need one or two every other day. I figured it would be fine, that he knew what he was talking about. Fast forward a week and my bearded dragon is no longer alive because the crickets were indeed too big for him. He got an impaction from them. He couldn't digest them and he passed away. I will NEVER step foot in that place again. Beware of people who talk too much and think they know everything.

I bought a hamster here a few months ago. At the time I didn't know much about hamsters care, so I believed what the owner and other worker told me about "proper hamster care". Their idea of proper hamster care is a cage that is maybe 12 inches in length and width (that was wildly expensive!).They said that a 6" wheel was OK. And that they only needed 2 or 3" of bedding. I now know that NONE of this is okay, hamsters need ALOT more space, and the hamster will let you know they need more space by frantically climbing and stressing out. A 6" wheel will hurt their back. You need at least a 10". They need several inches of bedding. If you get a hamster, DON'T fall for the expensive tiny cages you see at a pet store. Go next door to Walmart and buy a $20 50 gallon bin. Your hamster will love you for it. This all aside, the living conditions of the hamsters in this store is TERRIBLE. Hamsters are supposed to be solitary, or else they WILL KILL or IMPREGNATE each other. Each cage in this store had about half or a full dozen hamsters, sharing one lopsided wheel, with no burrowing space. The guy picked my hamster out of the cage for us to see and dropped her several feet many times (as she was/is very fast). This could have killed her. She was also noticeably tiny compared to the rest in her cage.. It's a surprise she wasn't impregnated or killed. But, I fell in love with her despite all this and went for it anyway. Turns out they sold her to me sick. After vet bills and a month of her not being able to open her eye, I was finally able to get her health under control. I love her to death, she's a happy and healthy hamster now in her 50 gallon bin cage, but just know if you're looking to get a hamster here- you're not "buying" a pet store hamster, you're "rescuing" a hamster who has had to endure horrific living conditions. Don't trust what the workers tell you about hamster care. Do your own research!!!EDIT (1/14/22) Brought my ham to the vet due to sneezing and a gooey eye (same eye that had been gooey when I first bought her a year ago) The sneezing was due to her uneven overgrown teeth that she was unable to trim herself, which led to a puncture at the top of her mouth near her nasal cavity. They said she was likely unable to trim down her teeth due to neurological defects she's had for a long time. They asked if she had been dropped before. I said she was at least once (in my presence) here at Pet Zone. I'm sure she was dropped numerous times before I bought her. She's always had a very noticeable head tilt, due to neurological defects either from her genetics (poor breeding on Pet Zone's part) or damage from being dropped (also on Pet Zone's part as I watched them drop her). So just beware when you buy from this store. I love her, but I hate knowing I supported this cruel business. They should not be selling hamsters.

The manager/owner was amazingly helpful! He brought out a tape measure for me to measure my items so that my aquarium would accommodate them. He gave his opinion about my items and let me know what would work properly. I know in his position he has to be incredibly busy, but he put aside his other duties to help me out. Thank you so much!! AND the store is super clean, which makes me happy :)

They were very friendly and took their time to help me and answer any questions I had. I was very happy they told a item I was purchasing was too high and should've been marked at a lower price. I will definitely be going back for all my fish tank needs.

This store appears to be a local business, so I try to frequently shop here for many of my pet needs.I buy all my super worms here for our Leopard Gecko, I have a few fish tanks so I've bought some items for them as well.I enjoy talking to their huge bird and they always seem to have really neat animals for sale too.I recommend this store over the box stores any day!

Had 3 snakes in one small tank with no hides and their water bowl was dirty. Snakes had scale rot it looked like also on one of the ball pythons. Do better.

Friday i bought a mouse for my baby ball python after Acadian ate his meal he acted way different than normal. All weekend he has been hid away in his house which isn't like him because he loves to be out basking or with me well needless to say he passed away... This breaks my heart he was healthy an so sweet. If your just gonna sell sick animals you don't need to be running this place!

Beware *** Do Not Do Business HereStore owner is very unprofessional. Instead of refunding money for a deceased pet that was purchased two weeks ago for a birthday gift, he wanted to be argumentative and say he won’t refund because he doesn’t know if a child dropped it or if we had it in a bad environment. Even though we were told by his cashier that we have a 30 day warranty on the pet and to keep our receipt. The owner was extremely condescending and didn’t even apologize until we walked out of the door upset. Very disappointed in this small business. You had the opportunity to do the right thing and you failed.

the staff and the owner are very knowledgeable and humble. i have gone to this store since i was a kid and the have had nothing but a kind and good attitude. they take very good care of their animals and the place is very clean. as a kid i have gotten plenty of animals and even now i get my animals from him. love the place and love that its a family owned business and not a big time corperation.

Shopping at a local business rather than a big name like Petco is always a better experience! The owner changes prices based on what he pays, I go there regularly to get feeder rats for my ball python and the prices had gone down at some point because they went down for him. The animals are well taken care of, I've been shopping there for years and have never had any issues.

This place is so much fun. Everybody seems happy and healthy when I am in to visit. I have purchased a variety of things here and have always been satisfied with its quality, and price. In the pet trade I am willing to pay more for more ethical practice. Also, Nobody makes fun of my minnow obsession. Happy to do business here.

6$ for the smallest feeder mouse they have and only taking surrenderd fish to sell after. 15 mins away they sell mice for 2$ at another store I won't name. Spend the other 4$ in gas and your still saving money compared to buying from this place.EDIT: they sell feeder mice for less than 2$ at a LFS east of this store. I'll give this store one more store only for they have cheap equipment for fishtanks but from the other reviews and from what I heard they don't fully care about there pets after they leave the shop. I highly recommend you stay away from this store if your buying an animal for food or as a pet.

Bought 4 fish- the associates were real friendly while I was there. 3 fish died within 8 hours and the 4th died by the next morning. I called to see if they had a warranty to which the employee answering the phone yelled at me because he was not the manager and proceeded to tell me it was my fault and my tank. I explained we had yet to transfer the fish to the tank waiting on everything to settle and used THEIR water. Employee stated "just call tomorrow and speak to Sean but 99.9% it was your fault to catastrophically kill the fish like that"Call the next day to speak to the manager who refuses to let anyone but himself speak. Told again it was our fault they are not replacing the fish.All because I called to ASK if they had a replacement policy we were treated with disrespect, blamed, and rudely spoken to. We have kept fish alive for years but this 1 time we go to a different store and they all die

The man who works in the store told me he would buy hamsters from me at one price then when I got to the store said he would not and he said he would only give me $5 in store credit. Then I bought a wheel for my hamsters and went to return it because I found one that was better made and he got very rude. The third time I went to the store he was picking on someone who was a little slow that worked there and I totally disagree with that. I used to love this store and think they did a good job but now it seems they think they're getting a little too big for their britches. I no longer like this store and I wish they would revert back to the way they used to be. :(

Terrible treatment of pet stock bought a sick water dragon was told it was just more active at night we kept the terrarium between 78-91 trying to help the dragon. Pet store owner said it was just in shock, lies the dragon didn't move at all for two days in the store and died the 3rd day we have it home. Kepts crickets water and meelworms accessible even added extra heater and uv bulb the owner said it was in cold shock, total bullcrap, told my girlfriend she would have to buy another at 17$ for a 20$ dragon, any pet I've bought from this store has had issues, or was sold as wrong animal bought a brown anole got it home was green. Bought angel fish died in two days bought crickets was shorted on the amount and the size of small was same as the large crickets, they offer no refunds or exchange s because they now there pets won't last,

Poor customer service from manager and employees. Spend $40 on fish and they die not even 12 hours later. He wouldn’t let me get a word in all the while he was accusing us of doing something wrong. Came up with every excuse as to why they fish died and kept saying it was human error on my part. Would not offer warranty but insisted he would give a discount on new fish and sell additional equipment. Spent less money on more fish and decorations and had better service at petco. And they even offer a 30 day warranty on all fish!

Went in to get crickets with my mother mind you I'm 27 and breed and collect snakes and what I saw was a absolute prime example of a shop that should not have reptiles in their possession. I seen snakes and iguanas with old and fresh poop in their enclosures and a lot of dirt in their water, clerk says to mother that paper towels keep the crickets from kicking? Dude cardboard is food for them like a potato that logic makes no sense dont buy from here they dont know completely what's going on sorry but not sorry that was my experience

I like the owner known him and his family for years no complaints from business. People buying fish must understand every step or transporting and putting them in the new aquarium means doing every step right from chemicals to temperatures or they'll die so it is human error not PetZone error. It's tough doing fishes people easier doing reptiles and amphibians actually lol it's just every process is important when cleaning them etc. A lot of work. I recommend the amphibians and reptiles ormammals however his fishes are healthy it's how you get them in their new environment and putting them back in after cleaning it's a lot of work
