I would give negative stars if I could..thry were rude ..refused to help a animal in need ..wouldn't even consult with their dr for help ..then a employee harassed me online the rest of that evening..... find yourself a more caring place to take your pets ... and you can't even comment your review unless you give them atleast one star..lol .. why not learn from your mistakes and make your business a better place!

Front desk not friendly. Never diagnosed my dog right. Took to a different vet and they fixed what was wrong. Communication was not great.

Called every 2 weeks since December, 2022 trying to get a cat in as a new patient. Finally in the beginning of March, 2023 she told me they would never take new patients. Followed by her hanging up. Rude non caring people on the phones. Bad for business 😞

The receptionist is one of the rudest people I've ever met. Didn't talk to me like a fellow human being and was incredible condescending. My cats have been going there for years and it didn't used to be this bad. I recently called and the receptionist is absolutely horrid. My cat is struggling and she didn't even care to listen to what was going on. Finding a new vet. I'm tired of being treated like this.

All of the staff are wonderful, and they're great about getting your pets in in a timely fashion. The office is very clean. I just wish they had a separate little room for smaller animals to wait. I was in there with my cat, and she was terrified of the 4 or 5 bigger dogs in the waiting room with us. Maybe next time I will wait in the car with her. Overall, very impressed with this place.

Rude receptionist. Called as I was looking for a new vet as I am new the area, she made it very clear she was busy and didn’t have time. Actually told me to go to Charleston WV because they don’t accept emergency. I was calling as a new client. Will not attempt to contact them again. If they can’t listen as to what I’m calling them for it makes me question the care my dog would of received to begin with.

I want to say a huge thank you to Dr. McHenry and the staff at River City Pet hospital.The health of our Lacey pup had deteriorated to the point that we had to say goodbye. Everyone had such compassion and gentleness with her and with us. Helping her to pass was heartbreaking but with the care shown to us it was a natural transition.Thank you all for everything that you do for the animals and the people that love them.

Would give negative stars if it were possible. My wife and I took our baby boa constrictor to the vet due to having trouble with a bad shed. The shed caused some issues and our snake's tail became stiff and hard that it could easily be broken in half. The vet examined him and gave him a shot along with some antibiotics for our snake and told us to wait a few days. We waited a couple days and noticed no improvement so we called back to which we were told again to wait a few days. A few days went by again and we called back only to be told again to wait after we told them it was spreading and getting worse. Their response again was to wait for the antibiotics to be done and then they can evaluate our pet in the next few days (over the weekend). During this time, our pet passed away due to the spreading infection. To us, it just didn't seem like they knew what they were doing for our little guy. We don't recommend this vet for exotics and you're better off going someone who specializes in exotics.

My experience at River City Pet Hospital was nothing short of outstanding. My dog was so sick I contemplated putting her to sleep and she is 15 years old. Dr Gwen fixed her up and 5 days later she is perfectly fine. She was not vetting with Dr. Gwen but she will be from now on. Her regular vet told me they were closed and go to the emergency clinic. They could not have cared less. River City Pet Hospital is my new vet. Everyone there is extremely kind which I really needed with a dog that sick.

Puppy had a loose stool, happy, playful, active, eating well. The puppy was taken to them and they diagnosed the puppy with parvo. Took puppy to another vet and same test was done and it was negative. Called back to the vet and told them and they said it was not the Dr. It was the manufacturer's batch of parvo testing. They were very misleading and I would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE. They wanted to keep the puppy and charge $700 to treat the puppy for Parvo that it never had! This is sad! To mislead a family, to tell them that their puppy had Parvo WHEN IT DID NOT! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!

If I could give them negative stars I would. I took my chinchilla here to get his overgrown teeth fixed, the cost was near $300, I went to pick him up and he wasn't awake, I questioned staff they said it was normal for him to be groggy, I got home he still wasn't awake, I called they told me to rub and stimulate him, after an hour and 45 minutes he succumbed to the anesthesia and stopped breathing. He was not vet checked before being sent home. Long story short, I paid $300 for them to kill my chinchilla. They refuse to reimburse vet charges although they killed my pet.

They told me it was gonna be $45 so that’s what I budgeted for.. by the time the visit was over, it was over $110!!! They never asked if I wanted all the extra shots or whatever they did with my cat! Never going back!
