Stopped by when we were hanging out in Mantua. The staff were very helpful in assisting my cousin with his special requests, and the Italian sandwich we got was fantastic. I'll have to come by when I need to get some fine meats or I'm looking for lunch!!

I had a fantastic experience at R44 Butcher and Baker Shoppe in Mantua, Ohio today! I stopped by for a quick lunch and decided to try their Italian sub – and wow, it did not disappoint!The sub was absolutely delicious, packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The meats and cheese were perfectly sliced, with just right amount of Italian dressing, and the bread was fresh. The flavors were perfectly balanced, making it at top 10 best Italian sub I've ever had.The staff was friendly and welcoming, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that I had everything I needed. The shop itself had a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made the whole experience even more enjoyable.If you have more time they have a nice meat section. Love going to this place for a sub sandwich. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. Good portion sizes. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I didn't see any sign up to advertise their subs, but all you do is ask them for one and they get your meats and toppings and make it. I hope they expand their sandwich offering a little and do some hot subs or maybe a burger. I'm sure that's a bit extra work, but I bet they'd be amazing. So glad this place took over when K&K went out.Updated on 1/3/22, still a great place for subs and food. They had a hamburger lunch special, but I didn't try it. They do now have a little sub menu to order from, which is nice. Still tasty food!

The freshness and quality of the meats are superior! The owners are so friendly and customer service oriented. The smoked pork chops are so tender and juicy! I asked for a particular thickness and the owner immediately said that he would custom cut whatever thickness I desired. Thank you for your cooking recommendations too! They turned out perfectly! I will be back again sometime very soon!

I stopped at Top Tier Bakery for Valentines goodies. I bought a peanut butter cheesecake, vanilla cheesecake and gingerbread sandwich heart. All are delicious and beautiful! They have wonderful items available. Staff is very helpful too. Great place to shop.

I'd love give R44 the benefit of the doubt but being a local who's visited on several occasions it seems the simplicity of making a sub fails some people. 3 stars for an ok sub for an alright price but for love of God quit forgetting to put cheese on it!

Cute little shop with a nice and affordable selction of meats. Also, on the other side there a great little bakey. I believe thery are ran seperate but both a great quality products. My daughter adores the bakery part and I cant disagree with her!! Cool Place.

Stopped today for the first time. Got the Italian sub and I believe it was the best I ever had. It was huge!!. I will be back for another. Awesome place.

My husband and I love the R44 Coffee Shop across the street (which we stopped at first) and then we decided to check out their new bakery & butcher shop. It did not disappoint! We loved the rustic and warm atmosphere as well as the local feel provided by the local products they sell. The 2 employees working there this afternoon made it even better as they were very kind and welcoming! We got the subs, which are huge btw, and we enjoyed them at home. Delicious! Highly recommend giving them a try!

The best. My wife and I love taking a little road trip from Chardon out to Mantua to R44 Butcher and Baker Shoppe. The meats are outstanding and fairly priced. I highly recommend this place.

I enjoyed a wonderful sandwich and the most delightful baked goods here. I love a scratch bakery that uses high quality ingredients and great recipes. The heavenly rolls were exactly that.....heavenly!! Worth the trip.

You have to try their soups and their Bakery I'm not sure if it's gluten-free or anything. One more thing the soups Change everyday or two days depending on what it is and how much they make they're chili five stars I'm a person that doesn't like hot chili or hot stuff in general and it's good for me

The R44 folks are at the heart of Mantua's downtown revival! The Butcher and Bakery, on two sides of one shop on the east side of route 44, offer superb cuts of meat and creative, lovely baked items. Across the street is the R44 coffee shop that offers many of the same baked goods plus sandwiches, salads, and, oh yes -- coffee! You'll also find many tables where you can work, meet, chat, or read. Great shops in big downtown Mantua!

What a great find!!! I was driving through the area...as I do not live near. There happened to be a festival going on...so I stopped to check it out! This place had steaks that they grilled and were letting people taste samples and they were SOOOOOOOO good!! I spoke to someone who worked there and they said they go out to all the local farms around to pick out their meat! All healthy raised animals!! That's a HUGE deal for me! Then inside the store they had so many great looking deserts too!! The staff was super friendly!! If I lived closer I would go here very very often! They even do different meals on different nights! Like Tacos one eve...etc! Check them out!

On my way down i-80 today with my girlfriend nature called and we pulled off into Mantua and found one of the best kept secrets of Northeast Ohio. The staff at the butcher shop and bakery were warm and welcoming, very very friendly and beyond helpful. The quality of the ingredients and value for dollar in every product that I purchased today was beyond what I have come to expect from small businesses in my area. These fine folks are doing it right in every way imaginable, forget Walmart come shop here !!!! I'll be back again to visit ❤️

Great place for locally sourced meats. Definitely farm to table fresh with the beef farm being right up the road! Steaks are always great here. Fresh, tender, and flavorful. Shop is very clean. Also has assortment of pierogis, drinks, and baked bread items as well as a delicious bakery that makes excellent (and beautiful) macarons. I enjoy buying some fresh steaks on the way home for having on the grill that night. Employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful.

Such a cute store!! The meat looks amazing!!! I got the biggest short ribs I have every seen!! The look beautiful!! Also got a small cherry topped cheesecake. It looks DELICIOUS!!! CANT WAIT TO EAT SOMWTHING!!!!Will definitely go there again!!! Such nice people!!

This shop in quaint downtown Mantua is home to a good selection of meats and home made sausages. There are also locally made piroge as well. The star of the store though, is the pastry made by Top Tier Pastry on the Bakery side of the store. Cheesecake, heavenly rolls, scones, tarts made with seasonal locally grown fruits, all of it is amazing. You will not find better pastry in Portage County. It is all made from scratch with high quality ingredients. There are no shortcuts or pre-made ingredients to be found. This is the real deal. It's delicious and a true 💎.

Stopped in Mantua for gas and was pleasantly surprised to find this bright and modern bakery. Based on the coconut cream tart and oatmeal whoopie pie, this bakery knows how to craft beautiful and delicious baked goods. I'd highly recommend to anyone passing through town!

Great butcher shop! Friendly staff and a nice selection. Clean, well lit, and spacious. Really impressed with this place and will be going back. Picked up some Slovenian sausages which were excellent. Good prices too! Will definitely return!!
