My mom and I are now a proud foster place for macaws (although I've adopted the CUTEST grumpy Quaker Frankie too).Before you buy a parrot - consider adopting (or fostering!) one of the many birds in need of love and understanding.

I got a B&G macaw from parrot hope 2 years ago. She never really cared for people interaction. I knew this going into it. But every day for two years i have worked with Morticia. It was only two months ago that she stepped up for the first time without biting. (Says more about my journey learning parrot body language than her). But today was the breakthrough. Today she chose me over her aviary with all the toys. Today made it all worth it. Dont give up because things are hard. Dont give up because there were so many days i worried maybe wed never bond, maybe she wont recover from her past and trust people again. But i knew i wasnt doing her any favors if i just gave up filled the cage with toys and let her alone. The journey you face when adopting any animal is a long one, let alone one as emotionally in tune as birds, is a very long one. But it is worth it to see them overcome and bond. To see them go from a fearful bird to a bird full of confidence and happiness. Dont give up because its hard, let that motivate you. Nothing worth doing is easy. But its worth the difficulty and hardships to get to the finish line. I crossed mine after two years. Thank you to the amazing staff at parrot hope. I know yall cant remember everyone but i remember you bringing my lifes biggest challenges and rewards into my life. For that ill always be greatful. I can not wait to come back up for my next flock mate. This journey isnt over its just starting.

This is just an amazing place it's a sanctuary it gives new meaning to the wow factor . This is the place you've been looking for. Seriously. Extensive network of families, fosters, and adopters. Great shop with all the best toys, foods, etc. Free classes. Flight enclosure. Fantastic rescue that puts a lot of work into helping abandoned and neglected parrots. There's a lot of ambassador birds (not for adoption) to interact with, mainly large macaws. During the warm months the birds will be outside in BIG aviaries where you can watch them goof around. Every so often the rescue will hold events where you can meet adoptable birds and buy discounted supplies (toys, cages, etc). They do a great job at screening applicants to ensure the birds go to a proper home and not end up discarded again.

I wish I could give it more stars. If I could there would be a hundred. I had to take my mom's parakeet there a couple years ago when she went into a nursing home and just recently took my aunt's old cage for her bird there as a donation. Tammy is one of the most caring people and extremely informative. It's absolutely obvious that she loves all of the birds there. The facility itself is overwhelming and beautiful. If you want to rescue or have to find a home for a bird, I can tell you that that is the place to go. She has an intimate relationship with every bird there and they are happy and well cared for. If you love birds or just want to donate to help them I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated and well deserved. Love love love parrot Hope rescue!!!!

I want to thank Parrot Hope for a wonderful experience with adopting a parrot. I adopted a 20 year old Amazon and they were so kind and answered a lot of questions for me. They were concerned with rehoming the birds in the best homes. I love my parrot and I will continue to watch their website for future parrots. Would recommend this Parrot Hope Rescue to everyone.

They responded quickly to my application, were very considerate and friendly, and everyone had the same goal: to give parrots a safe and loving home. In April 2021I adopted two male Love Birds.Unfortunately thier former owner was nolonger able to take care of them any longer. One of the best experiences I have ever had in an adoption process ever. The folks here take the time to get to know each and every bird and communicated to me the best possible fit for me, who turned out to be a beautiful Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo named Mango.
