This pet store does not take proper care of their animals, all 3 animals I have ever gotten from Dots have died within a week. Thankfully they will be closing soon, I do not recommend buying any pets from them.

The guy who worked here was nice and helpful. The animals were cute and it seemed like they were pretty well taken care of. I loved the puppy and the ferret. I wish I could have brought them home with me but I couldn't. The only downside was the strange smell as you walk in the door.

I feel so so bad for the animals here, most were very very skinny, over priced, not in proper husbandry, and just awful looking. The rodent (rats, mice, Guinea pigs, etc) are in way way to small of enclosures and not clean. This poor chameleon was in way to small of an enclosure but they’re selling him with it basically advertising that the housing was ideal. And the baby bearded dragon was so so skinny as well. It’s super sad to see honestly.

Great staff. Friendly and knowledgeable. Locally owned. I have shopped at Dots Pet Center for over 10 years now and it's the only place that I go for my aquarium supplies and fish.

I am customer of Dot's Pet Center for over 7 years, in fact, my beautiful cat came from this place. Very friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help staff. They do love animals and take a good care of their's fur babies.

This place is DISGUSTING. Sick animals, animals horribly overcrowded... no good pet owner or animal lover would support this bullcrap. I'm absolutely appalled that a store so "dedicated to animals" would treat animals like that. I'm enraged to see innocent creatures treated so horribly. Even Petco treats their animals better! You can bet your arses I'm posting these photos everywhere I can... animal cruelty is NOT acceptable.

I don’t ever leave reviews EVER but this place just .. the cats and dogs are taken care of the best I would say other than the dogs running around in their own feces and no beds or much of anything in the cat/dog cages and the fish seemed to be in good condition.. but the rats and hamsters are all crammed into super tiny dirty cages five huge rats to one tiny cage just sad. The men throwing them into the cages and picking them up by there tails just so wrong :( this place is clearly not run by animal loving people very sad to see it’s still up and running and has just about five stars-which makes no sense at all not to mention the puppy’s are super over priced and most likely from puppy mills. Was very hard to leave seeing so many neglected animals but I don’t want to spend the money to keep them in business:( I hope they get shut down cause that was just cruel

We bought a few fish and the kids were permitted to hold hamsters guinea pigs and a gecko. Pets seem healthy and place was clean. Employees were polite and helpful.

I went here looking for doggy supplies. The staff is really friendly.. however the "USDA licensed breeder" signs on the puppies is a dead give away that they purchase puppies from dog mills. Therefore I won't be giving them my business because my recently bought dog is a rescue breeder dog and has been completely traumatized from her years spent locked in a cage forced bred. Come on Dots, do your part to drain the puppy mill industry please.

Love the personal attention the employees give to me each time I come in. Prices and quality are better than the bigger pet stores. And I feel like they know more about pets than most other stores. It's also fun because you can go in and look at and sometimes pet their store pets.

I love this pet store they had everything that I needed their very friendly and when I wasn't able to pick up my python they held my python to the next day s A 5-star great customerI would definitely be coming back to pick up more essential items that I need my next big purchase is probably the big fish tank they have lol 😂

Today my family picked out an assortment of wonderful looking fish for our 55 gallon tank. We were helped by the owner of the store who was very patient and knowledgeable. He helped us get each kind of fish we wanted even though it may have been difficult. We are very thankful :)

I've been a customer here since I was a kid. I love the convenience.. Additionally, the folks who work here are the friendliest in Shawnee Township. They always help me get what I need and even carry the heavy stuff out to my car for me. I highly recommend spending your money here to keep this place thriving!

Very nice place to get a guinea pig. I have purchased 2 from them. They have a very nice selection of animals. Puppies, cats, guinea pigs, rats, mice, a wide variety of small birds, and all kinds of fish. A very nice selection of pet supplies as well.

Decent, dont like the puppy mill puppies or how rodents are kept. I come in often to get mice to breed for feeders. Almost everytime i ask for females they give me males. Which means I have to find more females

This has been my go to spider shop for years. They carry a huge variety of items for all kinds of critters. Friendly staff , always helpful. Thank you Dots!

This is a really unique and all around awesome pet store! They had the cutest puppies and kitties for sale and a very diverse range of pet supplies. I went in for guinea pig supplies (hay mainly) they had a great variety of treats and toys. Different from the same old PSP and Petco's varieties. I even checked out stuff for my Yorkie and again not disappointed. Dot's Pet Center is definitely worth the trip. :)

The workers are super kind. I have 2 cats from this location, they are both very healthy and beautiful cats. The only negative thing I have have to say is the rat enclosures. The tanks are overpopulated. Adding bigger tanks/hides for the rats are definitely needed. Overall the rest of the animals seem to be pretty well taken care of. A lot of the animals are rescues which is pretty heartwarming. The place smells pretty good and I have noticed a bunch of upgrades over the years of going there. Very exited to see what’s yet to come.

Had a misunderstanding with a fish that was purchased from Dots, not only did they correct the issue they went 💯 above and beyond to satisfy and make sure would not happen again. Great place, can’t say enough about the staff and service they provide…

I’ve been going to Dot’s pet store for YEARS. Even as a little girl, I remember getting SO excited when my mom needed to run to Dot’s. They’ve always been friendly, personable, kind, & helpful. Yesterday’s trip was nothing short of that. In fact, it was so much more. I had my 2 year old with me, & both the owner of the store (Evan) & another staff member commented on her light-up skirt & how cute she was, right off the bat. About 15 minutes later, we were walking up to check out, & Savannah was busy gazing at the cute toy in her hand that she HAD to get our German Shepard, & not looking up while walking. Unfortunately, she tripped & hit her face on the corner of the countertop. She cried (a lot), had a small gash in her cheek, & there was blood. The owner rushed to grab a couple first aid kits, & pretty much took care of Savannah so that I could hold her. He gave her 2 shiny pennies & 3 small rings that fit her little fingers perfectly (she’s currently wearing one right now). He even got out his phone & played “Baby Shark” for her as he was trying to clean her up! In the meantime, another staff member was holding my large bag of dog food & our new dog toy & being so patient while we were getting Savannah calmed down. He even took my purchases to the car for me when we left. I am so so thankful & grateful for people like this who go above & beyond. Savannah did end up needing glued back together, but between her rings that Evan gave her & the endless amount of popsicles that mommy is giving her, she’s as happy as can be! This is why I shop local!

My Husband and I purchased a Bernese Mountain Dog from Dots. We have been so impressed with what a wonderful puppy he has been. Our experience with Dots has been great. The quality of dog he is, is amazing! I highly recommend purchasing animals from this pet store and will be forever grateful to them for our newest family member.

I wish I could give it zero stars. The animals here are being abused. Dogs covered in feces (not to mention these are puppy mill dogs that are extremely overpriced) and multiple rodent cages with absolutely no bedding. There were gnats everywhere and the smell was unbearable. I submitted a request via Humane Ohio to take a look at this place. So disappointing, clearly the owners don’t care about the well-being of the pets in their care.

We went in to get a pet rat today, and first the man told me I wasn’t allowed to hold or pet the rat because it would run and he would have to chase it. Selecting a pet is hard when you can’t even hold it. Next. I picked out a fur baby and the man picked it up by its tail(which can be VERY dangerous to the health of the animal) and then proceeded to put it in an old cricket box covered in cricket feces. The rat was clearly terrified along with the others. Price was fine but all I could do was panic and get that baby out of the store. We have had multiple experiences when going to dots of seeing animals not correctly cared for, new bedding just layered on top of old bedding etc. with them being the only shop around with live rats, we went on a rescue mission and knew that that is what it would be. Unless you are ready to put a lot of hard work into these animals I would not recommend. Item pricing is high as well. The only reason we would return would be to save another animal from the neglect.

shopping here is supporting puppy mills and awful living conditions for most of the animals. they clearly favor the dogs and cats but leave the rest of the animals in deplorable conditions. no reason 30 mice should be in one small cages. no reason dead animals should be left in cages. no reasons rabbits should be housed in fish tanks. no reason for this place to be in business. disgusting and shameful to claim to love animals but leave them malnourished and covered in fleas.
