This shelter is very small off the beaten path but the warden and volunteers at this shelter truly love the dogs in their care and do the best they can with the minimal funds they get. They rely on donations to supplement the lack of money available to them and many of them pay medical bills for the dogs out of their own pockets!!I thoroughly enjoyed collecting the truck load of donations for them. The young volunteers I met were so polite and expressed how appreciative they were for everything.I hope their community will realize how lucky they are to have such devoted people caring for the homeless dogs in their area and put forth the effort to help in any way they can!!!

We adopted Olave (Charlie) back in May. The warden spent a couple of hours with us as we made sure he would be a good fit for us and with our other dog because the staff was very fond of him. Finalizing the adoption process was very easy. Olave has a wonderful temperament and has been a great addition to our family.

We didn't get to physically visit, however, we spoke with them many times on this day as we were working to home multiple abandoned dogs. They reported that they desperately need to home dogs as they are full beyond capacity and do not wish to euthanize.

This place was great! We decided to take a chance on a big ole boy who is a total sweet heart. We got there before close and they were so patient with us while making our decision. Best part (besides the dog) was they sent us home fully loaded with toys, collar, leash, food, and food bowls. They were so helpful and We plan to go through them next time we are interested in getting another pup. We hope to be able to donate to them one day to help pass along the blessings they gave us.

We drove 100 miles to adopt a beautiful boxer mix. Kelly Diss, the deputy dog warden, was very kind and so helpful in the adoption process. Please keep these good people in mind and help them find homes for their lonely charges.

All of the dog wardens were incredibly helpful and understanding of how we wanted to adopt a cat friendly-dog. They treat each of the dogs like their own and a lot of the dogs always look clean and healthy. They helped us adopt the dog of our dreams and we absolutely adore all of the dog wardens especially Kerrie! If you plan on adopting from this pound, just know that the dogs here are well-cared for and the staff are incredibly helpful. We love our new pup Rocky and can't thank the staff enough for their help!

Best place to go look for a dog!! The warden is amazing and means her business! They are very well loved and cared for! Very clean and knows about the dogs. She will do home visits and make sure you have the dog fixed so there is no more unnecessary breeding and abandoned dogs!

They really do a great job stretching their limited resources to help as many dogs as possible! The staff was so nice and the adoption prices are incredibly reasonable. I’m so grateful they give so many dogs a second chance and love them like their they’re own.

Very attentive staff, we had to bring our other dog to the shelter to make sure our new addition would work out. We are head over heels in love with our new dog. He is absolutely amazing and everyone did an amazing job!

We've adopted a beautiful dog here a few years ago. A good place to go looking for a new family member. Plus it helps them out so they can continue to help other dogs who can't help themselves.

Rude & uneducated staff! Smells horrible, poor dogs living in small cages, multiple dogs living in the large kennels share with another dog. Large dogs are kept in cages where their heads touch the top when sitting or standing on all fours. Dogs get very little exercise, they are walked on a short path for 10-15minutes daily then let out in a small enclosure outside alone for 10-15minutes. They get no interaction with other dogs. Staff/Warden bring their kids to the shelter and allow them to do staff jobs. Warden is very rude, even tells potential adoptees what to wear. If you've found a stray/abandoned dog and have previously taken a stray into the shelter they try to charge you a fee! Warden accuses rescuers of owning the stray they bring in repeatedly asking the strays name. Warden talks down to staff and volunteers treating them as a lesser. Asks adoptees to leave after being at the shelter over 5minutes because "I have more important things to get to" I will not bring a stray or adopt from here.They give you free food, leash, and collar for a poorly taken care of dog that'll most likely be uncomfortable around people (possibly scaring the dog into attack mode harming it's new family)because of their limited interaction while living in the shelter.

Horrible people! Someone that was being spiteful dropped off one of my family's dogs and 8 puppies without the their knowledge. They went to get their dogs back and they refused to give them back to her. Mind you only a few hours after they were dropped off. NOW all of a sudden they transferred her and the pups and refuse to tell her where. She furnished ALL the necessary paperwork and they still didn't. I find that WRONG!!!!!!! They belong to her and you have no right to keep them!!!!

Great staff but small location. They are understaffed and its no ones fault but the county. They had to many animals in there without having enough kennels or workers. Thanks for letting me look at and play with the dogs.

I have been trying to get them to come and get a dog that isn't even mine. I can't keep her. My daughter moved in brought her here then my daughter moves out. I rent. I'm getting into trouble with her here. No one responds to emails no one is there when I show up at office hours. Wth

Staff was very friendly and genuinely cared about the dogs. When I adopted our dog a young man who was cleaning kennels helped load the dog food into the car.

I called about a few dogs on mt perry rd and she is very nice the game warden is a women sorry i dont remember her name but she was very helpful and honest she also took the time to go over pet rules
