This store is excellent - in every way: the staff greets everyone, they are very friendly and helpful, the store is always neat, tidy and clean. Good variety of supplies - for all kinds of pets. While I have been to several other competitors, the staff make the difference. Oh, and the pet bath area is always clean and well maintained. No need to go anywhere else. Bravo ppl.

This was my second visit to this store. On my first visit, I was helped by a worker from a different location who was apparently only helping out as the store was short staffed. The employee from the other store was great and very knowledgeable. However, the store itself was less than ideal. The birds had a single, poop-covered toy to play with. There were semi-aquatic toads housed in a mostly dirt enclosure with only a small water dish. The bathroom was a mess. The employee who "helped" me during my most recent stop was one of the most overbearing sales people I've ever encountered. I didn't ask for any assistance, nor did I need it, but she insisted on incessantly recommending fish that were not compatible with my current setup as well as items that I had no interest in. I just wanted to shop in peace. The store cleanliness and animal care had not improved either. I won't be coming back to this location in the future.

Great Little Shop! They've always had anything I've needed, Even for a Mack Snow Gecko! The staff is super friendly! They seems Very Knowledgeable of the needs of different animals, and also of their products and what is best to fulfill that need. It's a Great little place!

The prices are okay, but it isn’t much cheaper than other big stores. They are nice there but there dog bath wasn’t clean the last time I was in. There was hair still in it. I would have changed baths but I didn’t notice until my dog was in the bath and she’s older. I don’t like that they didn’t have a sign or tell me they didn’t have an apron when I went to wash my dog. I don’t mind bringing in my own. I guess they don’t want to have to wash them every time. It’s okay for them to offer free baths during COVID when tons of people will use the same nozzle shower head though. They had a bird which is the first I’ve seen. I didn’t know they sold animals. I thought they just tried to get cats new homes.

I have a boxer. For $10. (no tax), everything is available for bathing. Very convenient. Products purchased has been of high quality. Lastly, they are supporting our local animal shelter with their current needs,

Though the store does look nice, their selections on small pet and reptile items are awful, and the majority of what they have for basic care of rodents is actually unsafe for them, like wire mesh wheels, which directly result in bumble foot and other physical issues over time. Or fluffy nesting material that can cause impaction and cheek pouch injuries on hamsters. Not to mention the small rodents in their care have BAR wheels, which are extra dangerous for possible injuries. Adult Syrian hamsters are housed together (wonder how many deaths and injuries they have a week)... But the employees will still sell these animals in pairs or more because they must be clueless, which would explain the lack of initiative to have better care. The last time I was there, the water bottle was leaking continuously in one of the cages, and, even after I told someone, it wasn't fixed while I was there, which was a good 20 or so more minutes. There was also a hamster that obviously had wet tail, so it probably died since it was kept on display instead of taken to a vet or even attempted to be treated there. I wish I knew more about reptile care so I could get more of an idea of their overall pet care. I doubt it's much better. I wish there were better pet store options in the area. I'd rather go to PetSmart, but Pet Valu has more made in USA options of what I was looking for in rodent treats. It's a shame, I'll probably just order them online now to avoid supporting such careless actions.

The staff is very helpful and polite. They've been great helping me track down a giant cat carrier for my jumbo kitty, indestructible chew toys for my puppy, and specialty foods for a senior dog.

Went in to buy a guinea pig and got absolute no help! No one greeted me when I walked in, asked if I needed help with anything, absolutely nothing. So I will happily take my business elsewhere. Maybe with your new help you will have some more friendly service!

Associates are well trained and very helpful. I love that they allow local rescues to come in for adoption events...and house them there until they can be adopted. I buy bearded dragon food and kitten formula there regularly

I have been there 3 to 4 times each experience from simple shopping to washing my dog has been awesome. The customer service there was amazing. Although there is another location closer to my home I love shopping at the Lebanon location.

Great place to give your dog a bath. Shampoo, towels and dryers. Make your fur baby smell wonderful and feel better for spring. They have just about anything for your pet. Local. Small business.

One of my favorite pet stores. They also have a section where you can bring your dog and wash him your self. They have fish they sometimes have cats. They have pretty much everything for your pet.they also have cookies and cupcakes for dogs.

Slightly priced over what I would pay @ Kroger for the same food but it's a one stop pet shop. They have tubs for bathing, everything pet needs related and the kids love playing w/ whatever kittens or bunnies that might be running around.

Great place to shop for your animals if you want quality products. Emily was very nice and also very informative. I'd reccomend this place any day of the week for anyone who loves their pets and chooses quality food for them.

SOLD ME A PREGNANT HAMSTER!!! I bought a female hamster from this store. Little did I know, she was 14 days away from giving birth! The employee helping me pick out a hamster didn't really seem like she knew how to sex them, she was rude, so was another elderly employee that works there. And to top it all off, the prices on the smallest things are too high. Don't go here for buying pets or pet supplies, you might get a surprise litter too and/or spend a fortune for that pet.

I go here to buy crickets and worms for my baby bearded dragon. Almost every time I go there now they're either out of the size crickets I want or they're out of the worms that I want. Also, half of the crickets die before I even get home (it's only about a 5 minute drive home). It's starting to get very annoying. And their prices are too high. I can get the same amount of crickets for almost $3 cheaper at pet smart in South Lebanon. Also they are usually understaffed because I usually have to wait 10 minutes or more here because they're usually only 1-2 people working and there's usually other customers besides me in there. Also, they keep their baby bearded dragons on sand, which is very unhealthy for them because if they eat it it's bad for them, and one time when I was there I noticed a lot of sand in one of the beardies eye and I said something to the employee about it and he said he would change it but I don't think he ever did. Those little bearded dragons also look very skinny and malnourished. The only reason I keep coming here is because it's the closest pet store to my house and the next closest one is 15 minutes further to south lebanon. I am not happy with this pet store at all.

Washing my 90 pound Lab. Got the law called on me for being aggressive with him.My dog gets very excited and doesn't mind real well in this condition. I was being stern with him. Not abusive. You need employees that understand the difference. The police just laughed 🤣

Sure, they will price match other competitors, but that leaves the burden on the consumer. Why not just do your own research and realize that you are double the price of many of your competitors? For example, Nutrivet dog aspirin is $12.99 at your store, $9.39 at Rural King, and just under $7 at Wal Mart.Other than that, the store is clean and has a decent selection for its small size. I'd trust buying aquatic animals and small pets from here before the competitors.

They have lost our business. We buy the blue buffalo wild dog food. We are supposed to get every 13th bag free, we have three large dogs so we reach this every couple months. Their tracking system is index cards and they won't attempt to find your card unless you get rude with them and stand there untillthey find it. They have not marked our card several times. Other stores do this with a computer system, we will buy our dog food elsewhere.

Fabulous customer service! Could not have been treated better. Respected and sympathized with regarding the loss of our hamster. Giving important information and a plan for how to move forward. Thank you for your compassion!

The customer rewards points system is a total scam. After being 15 points away from a reward I'm told they canceled all the points and that no more will be added even tho my current purchase would have made me eligible. With that kind of professionalism I'm glad they are going out of business. I tried to return the stuff I bought when I found out so i could else where. However they also don't do any returns. I can not wait to see the company close forever.

Lizards hamsters rats parakeets. We got our parakeet here. He was a friendly as parakeet we could find in all the pet stores. Our local bird farm doesn't sell parakeets anymore, so you have to go to the pet stores where we live. But if you're looking for a big bird you should go to the sugarcreek Bird Farm.

Some staff is knowledgeable and some are not so much. I think theie glow fish are dyed. They have a great selection though so ad long sd I dont have to deal with the very young members of their staff that don't really know what they're talking about. Then I really like the store. If only they would let me get my own fish out..

This the only store i go to, to buy my pets food. Every time. The two brunette girls are always friendly and asking if i need help. Today i went in and this one blonde lady with glasses made me uncomfortable, saw me come in didn’t greet me but followed me in the back to ask if I got everything when there was a customer needed to be checked out, asked that then proceed to walk back to the register. Jus seem like she thought i was stealing. I know i won’t be speaking to this woman when i enter the store. Rude.

The animals here are very well taken care of. You can tell the workers enjoy their job as they walk around to make sure the animals are alright, even stopping to play with the parrots for a minute. The bettas even have airstones and their own lights. Some even have Marino moss balls in their containers. If you are looking to buy a bird, reptile, bunny, ferret, hamster, guinea pig, fish, or cat then look no further than here.

Awful. Their animals suffer, and when they had birds the manager would cut all of the feathers on each wing... flight feathers should only be trimmed and are the first 3 to 4 feathers... she would force these birds against her chest and walk around. That is torture. We "rescued " a quaker parrot from there and her wings were so messed up due to this manager she couldn't lay them down properly. She also suffered intense fear of people for a long time...Uneducated employees, poor care of animals.

I went into Pet Valu in Lebanon Ohio to get a hamster for myself. The assistant manager sold me a horrible cage that was way below the minimum size for a teddy bear hamster was super flimsy and horrible. Her name is Kyriah.I am giving this store a 5 because of Olivia. She was amazing. She toom the horrible cage i was sold and got me a wonderful Kaytee Critter Trails cage and did an even exchange. She helped me pick out some food and treats and the best bedding. Marmalade is a very happy hammy and I am a happy customer thanks to Olivia!! She needs to be the manager not Kyriah.
